Abstract
BACKGROUND Bibliometric analysis is a critical indicator of the influence and relevance of scientific papers, whilst also highlighting key contributors and gaps in knowledge in a scientific field. OBJECTIVES To update and analyse the 100 most-cited papers in regenerative endodontics from 2019 to 2023. METHODS A search of the most-cited recent papers focusing on regenerative endodontics using journals included in the category, 'Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine', in the Clarivate Web of Science database from 2019 to 2023 was performed. Three researchers conducted the study selection and data extraction. Data extraction included publication title and year, authors, number and mean number of citations, institution, country and continent, study design, journal title, keywords and research topic. Citation counts were also collected in Google Scholar and Scopus databases. Graphical bibliometric networks were created using VOSviewer software. RESULTS The number of citations of the 100 most-cited articles ranged from 6 to 85. Most were published in 2020 (n = 48), principally in the Journal of Endodontics (47%), followed by International Endodontic Journal (13%), Journal of Dental Research (6%) and Dental Materials (6%). Laboratory study was the most common study design amongst the included papers (n = 47), followed by narrative reviews (n = 17) and observational studies (n = 16). The most frequent first author on the top three most-cited papers was Hacer Aksel, whilst Adham A. Azim (n = 6; 89 citations) contributed most to the top 100 articles. The institution from which most articles originated was the University of Hong Kong (China) (n = 5; 81 citations), whereas the corresponding authors were predominantly from the United States of America (USA) (n = 31; 560 citations). The VOSviewer map of co-authorship demonstrated research collaborative clusters. 'Regenerative endodontics' and 'stem-cells' were the most employed keywords (37 and 36 occurrences respectively). DISCUSSION The current study was designed not only to showcase the most influential papers in regenerative endodontics since 2019 but also to provide a better understanding of global research in this area over the last five years. CONCLUSIONS This bibliometric analysis highlighted papers, authors, institutions and keywords in regenerative endodontics. The 100 most-cited papers primarily consisted of laboratory studies published in the USA, focusing on evaluating biomaterials and scaffold design strategies in contact with stem cells. Clinical studies and systematic reviews representing higher levels of scientific evidence are currently not the most influential in the regenerative endodontic field.

Abstract
This study aimed to perform a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of journals focused on dental education (Journal of Dental Education and European Journal of Dental Education) from 2014 to 2023. An ISI Web of Science Search was performed in October 2023 with no filters for language or keywords. Published articles between 2014 and 2018, 2019 and 2023, and 2014-2023, along with the top 100 cited articles published within this period were exported as txt files. Keyword and title word network maps and occurrences were generated using VOS Viewer software. Author-affiliated countries with the most publications were tabulated from the Web of Science. Dental education and dental students and education were consistently in the top six keywords and title word occurrences in all periods and top 100 cited articles. Similar trends were observed for keyword and title word network maps with an emphasis on dental education and students. However, the 2019-2023 period saw the emergence of coronavirus disease 2019, three-dimensional printing, virtual reality, and education technology, with the earlier period (2014-2018) showing clusters around students, perceptions, dental hygiene education, and assessment. The United States ranked top of the list for most published author-affiliated countries, with England, Canada, Australia, and Saudi Arabia in the top six for all periods analyzed. In conclusion, within the limitations of this study, areas of interest in dental education journals in the last decade were identified along with the countries with most publications.

Abstract
Background Case reports are one of the important forms of documentation and publication of clinical physiotherapy presenting the first line of evidence in scientific literature. In order to provide a systematic and precise structure for reporting and presenting cases, the CARE guidelines were established in 2013. However, these guidelines present limitations as while reporting require items of specific specialties following the checklist. Authors from different specialities have developed CARE extensions specifying the characteristic features of corresponding fields, however, an extension dealing with physiotherapy assessment and line of management in the CARE guidelines is proposed as PhyCaRe. Method After consulting with the advisors, a draft will be prepared of the specific elements that should be included in the PhyCaRe using web Delphi methodology considering CARE statement as the source and SurveyMonkey will be used to undertake the web Delphi questionnaire. The web Delphi methodology will be assumed for three rounds and will be open to physiotherapists and others with substantial experience in reviewing case reports. Subsequently, an online consensus meeting, pilot testing, and submission of the CARE extension for physiotherapy will be conducted for publication. Dissemination The 2010 "Guidance for Developers of Health Research Reporting" and instructions from the EQUATOR Network will be followed in the preparation of PhyCaRe guidelines. The guidelines will be propagated at different platforms and journals will be requested to adopt the guidelines. Registration The reporting guideline under development is prospectively registered on the EQUATOR Network website on PhyCaRe - Reporting guideline for physiotherapy case reports.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIM There is no thorough overview of intentional tooth replantation techniques. We performed a bibliometric analysis of the development of intentional tooth replantation. MATERIALS AND METHODS A comprehensive search of the Web of Science and SCOPUS databases was conducted in February 2023. Original articles and reviews of human studies with "intentional replantation" or synonyms in the titles, abstracts, or keywords were included. A descriptive analysis of bibliographic data, co-occurrence analysis, and coupling of publications was performed. Multivariate analysis was used to explore the bibliometric parameters associated with the citation counts. RESULTS The study included 171 papers, which were co-authored by 500 individuals affiliated with 217 institutions from 28 countries/regions. The USA contributed the greatest number of publications, followed by China, and Japan. The USA had 694 citations, followed by Japan (210), and Turkey (210). The Journal of Endodontics and Dental Traumatology contributed the most citations. Five directions for future research were identified based on the coupling relationships of publications, including "managing vertical root fractures with adhesive resin using the intentional replantation technique," "intentional replantation for periodontally hopeless or endodontically compromised teeth," "intentional replantation for treating abnormalities of morphological development," "outcomes and prognosis factors of intentional replantation," and "treating root replacement resorption by intentional replantation." Multivariate analysis showed that the publication year, Journal Citation Reports ranking of journals, study design, and disease type were predictors of citation counts. CONCLUSIONS This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive description of the intentional replantation technique. The USA published the greatest volume of papers and generated the most citations. The Journal of Endodontics and Dental Traumatology are considered the most influential. The Journal Citation Reports journal ranking (Q1, Q2), study design (case reports, cohort studies), and disease type (crown root fractures) were associated with the citation counts.

Abstract
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM The surgical extrusion technique has been advocated for severely damaged teeth as well as for intruded and unerupted teeth. However, a quantitative literature analysis is lacking. PURPOSE The purpose of this bibliometric analysis was to provide a comprehensive overview of surgical extrusion, assess the applications and outcomes, and evaluate topics for future research. MATERIAL AND METHODS An electronic search was conducted in leading databases in April 2023. Human studies with surgical tooth extrusion or synonyms in titles or abstracts were included. A bibliographic analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and coupling of publications were performed. The analysis of variance was used to assess the characteristics of the subgroups based on indications. The survival rate was evaluated by using the Kaplan-Meier method in the R software program (α=.05). RESULTS Fifty-one studies from 1982 to 2023 were included. The Journal of Dental Traumatology and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry combined published approximately one-third of the papers and acquired the most citations. The burst detection of keywords revealed 4 popular research topics: the Benex extraction system, chlorhexidine for infection control, rigid or semi-rigid splints to decrease the risk of complications, and novel restorative materials to improve esthetics. An overall survival rate of 96.36% was reported among 316 participants with 330 extruded teeth. No significant differences were found in study types, geographic distribution, year of publication, or citation counts among the 4 subgroups (surgical extrusion for subgingival fractures, extensive caries, intruded teeth, and unerupted teeth). A significant difference was observed among the Kaplan-Meier curves of the 4 subgroups (P=.030). CONCLUSIONS Surgical extrusion may be used to save otherwise nonrestorable teeth, and the procedure has shown promising survival rates when teeth are properly selected and the procedure is well executed. Subgingival fractures and extensive caries near bone level are the predominant indications, as well as intruded and unerupted teeth. Surgical extrusion is a reliable treatment option to facilitate tooth restoration for severely damaged teeth, especially for maxillary anterior teeth.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIM Tooth auto-transplantation has recently gained high clinical acceptance. The aim of this study was to identify the top 100 most-cited articles regarding tooth auto-transplantation, to analyse multiple citations and publication metrics and to outline the historical scientific advancements in this field. MATERIALS AND METHODS An advanced search of the Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science 'Core Collection' and Elsevier's Scopus databases utilising specific keywords related to tooth auto-transplantation between 1971 and 2021 was performed. The retrieved articles were ranked in descending order based on their Web of Science citation counts and further cross-matched with citation data from Scopus. The extracted data included citation counts, citation density, level of evidence, year of publication, contributing authors names and institutes, corresponding author's address, journal of publication, journal local citations index, cumulative growth index, keywords and keywords Plus. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and graphical mapping. RESULTS A total of 1290 articles were retrieved. The top 100 most-cited articles received a total of 4899 (Web of Science) and 5250 (Scopus) citations. Among these, cohort studies (29%) and case series (18%) were the most common study designs. Scandinavian countries produced major contributions in defining the top 100 most-cited articles and ranked within the top 5 countries based on the number of publications and citations per year. The greatest contributing authors were Schwartz O (n = 12), Andreasen JO (n = 8) and Paulsen HU (n = 6), and they were affiliated with Copenhagen, Denmark. The top contributing journals were American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology, European Journal of Orthodontics, Dental Traumatology and Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis revealed a large geographical scientific interest and broad development in the field of tooth auto-transplantation spanning multiple dental disciplines.

Abstract
The studies on bibliometric analyses of case reports usually give valuable information regarding various aspects of case reports but lack investigation analysing these publications. This is the first-ever study to examine the bibliometric articles on case reports; hence, it is hypothesized to provide a valuable contribution to this gap. PubMed and SCOPUS databases were searched, and a total of 119 articles were obtained, but only five were analyzed matching the inclusion criteria. The keywords involved in the search were “Bibliometrics”, “analysis”, “case reports”, "case series”, and “articles” whereas, the time range in which the case reports were searched for was between 2011-2021. Common parameters from these five articles were employed for bibliometric analysis, which included publication year, publication type, the number of case reports per article, theme or subject of the article, citation, and impact factor (IF). Out of the five articles identified, four were published in 2021. One out of five was a case report, and the rest were review-type of articles. The overall citation number of these articles was less than 10, and the IF of these articles was between 0-0.007. The number of citations of the articles was in a period of one to two years or less than one year. A comprehensive overview of the parametrises, as well as the recent trends that are being used to conduct bibliometric analysis on case reports was acquired.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIMS The journal Dental Traumatology (DT) is one of the best resources in the field of dental traumatology. It has always encouraged publication of case reports of good quality. The CARE statement (2011) was developed for uniform and transparent reporting of cases in medical sciences. Since case reports are inseparable from the DT literature, the aim of this bibliometric-analysis was to evaluate the case reports published in the DT in the last two decades (2001-2021) and assess their compliance regarding CARE guidelines for elucidating the trends in DT and the reporting quality of these papers. METHODOLOGY Two authors independently observed the tables of contents in all issues of DT from 2002-2021 and identified case reports. Selected articles were scrutinized to determine their eligibility. Data extraction was performed, case reports were segregated into domains, and their CARE compliance was evaluated by using a self-designed-validated method. Differences between the case reports published in two decades (2002-2011 and 2012-2021) were analysed with the Chi-square test. RESULTS A total of 1612 articles published between February 2002 and October 2021 were scrutinized to identify 357 case reports with 277 from the period of 2002-2011 and 80 between 2012 and 2021. The highest number of case reports originated from Asia (2002-2011:135, 2012-2021:28). The CARE compliances of the majority of reports in the decade of 2002-2011 were between 75 and 85% (good) while the CARE compliances of the majority of reports from 2012-2021 were between 85 and 95% (very good) or >95% (excellent). These differences were statistically significant (p < .005). CONCLUSIONS The number of case reports published in the decade of 2002-2011 were more than three times the number of case reports published in the decade of 2012-2021. The highest number of reports in both decades were from Asia and belonged to the therapeutic and prognostic domains. The CARE compliances of the reports in the decade of 2012-2021 were better than those from 2002-2011.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION In young individuals, deciduous tooth pulp might be utilized as a natural, biologic scaffold for the regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) of young permanent teeth with necrotic pulps and apical periodontitis. The present case series demonstrates the clinical and radiographic outcomes of a novel RET utilizing deciduous pulp autotransplantation in traumatized, necrotic young permanent incisors. METHODS Five previously-traumatized maxillary incisors of four 8-11,5-year-old patients were treated with a RET protocol that used 2.5% NaOCl irrigation and placement of calcium hydroxide dressing in the first visit. After 4 weeks, the intracanal medication was removed, and the whole pulp tissue harvested from the neighboring maxillary deciduous canine was transplanted into the disinfected root canal without induced apical bleeding. Following placement of an MTA coronal barrier, the access cavities were restored with acid-etch resin composite. The root canals of donor primary canines were filled with calcium hydroxide-iodoform paste and were restored as with the permanent incisors. RESULTS Three patients were followed-up for 24 months, and one patient for 12 months. All teeth demonstrated radiographic evidence of complete periapical healing, slight increase in dentinal wall thickness, and continued apical closure in the absence of clinical symptoms. A positive response to cold test was obtained in one incisor at 12 months and two at 24 months. CONCLUSIONS Based on 12- and 24-month clinical and radiographic findings, the present cases demonstrate a favorable outcome of a regenerative endodontic treatment protocol utilizing deciduous pulp autotransplantation in young permanent incisors with pulp necrosis.
