Abstract
BACKGROUND Schwannomas can occur in the body where nerve sheaths are present. Genitourinary schwannomas are very rare, especially primary bladder schwannomas. They account for only 0.1% of bladder tumours. The literature reports that simple surgical resection has a good effect and prognosis. CASE PRESENTATION A 39-year-old man had no significant improvement in symptoms due to frequent urination and urgency for 1 month following the treatment of prostatitis for 2 weeks. Ultrasound and computed tomography (CT) showed a mass in the left side wall of the bladder (size approximately 2.0 × 1.9 cm) that had clear boundaries and protruded outward from the bladder. After the extraperitoneal space was dilated with a balloon, a minimally invasive laparoscopic partial cystectomy was performed in this space to remove the tumour. The pathological diagnosis was bladder schwannoma. Immunohistochemical staining showed that it was strongly S100 protein positive. There was no recurrence after 2 years follow-up by cystoscopy and CT. CONCLUSIONS Bladder schwannomas are clinically rare benign bladder lesions and no specific clinical manifestations. Laparoscopic partial cystectomy through the extraperitoneal space is a safe and feasible treatment option.

Abstract
Isolated shwannoma of the urinary bladder is a very rare entity. We report a case of a shwannoma of the bladder that was diagnosed by an MRI and confirmed by histopathology after the patient underwent TURB.

Abstract
Perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasms represent a group of uncommon mesenchymal
tumours with as yet undiscovered benign counterpart. Although perivascular
epithelioid cell neoplasms have been described arising in most organ systems as
well as in soft tissue and bone, only a small number of perivascular epithelioid
cell neoplasms have been reported in the bladder. To date, there is no agreed
system for predicting the behaviour of these tumours. We describe a case of a
perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasm of the bladder arising in a 57-year-old
male and initially diagnosed on biopsy and present a review of the literature
focussing on the pathological differential diagnosis and the importance of key
histological features in conjunction with a broad immunohistochemical panel.
This case report highlights the key features of bladder perivascular epithelioid
cell neoplasms that distinguishes these rare neoplasms from other bladder
lesions.

Abstract
The urinary bladder schwannoma is an extremely rare primary urologic tumor. Schwannoma arises from the Schwann's cells in the nerve sheaths and is almost associated with von Recklinghausen's disease. We report a case of schwannoma in a 35-year old female who presented with urinary frequency for 2 months with absence of evidence of von Recklinghausen disease and successfully treated with transurethral resection of bladder lesion (TUR_B). To the best of our knowledge, this represents only the 10th case of benign schwannoma of the urinary bladder in a patient without von Recklinghausen disease. We report a case of an isolated schwannoma of the urinary bladder, and also searched the English literature as we had access to bladder schwannoma.

Abstract
Bladder schwannoma is a rare tumour arising from Schwann cells in nerve sheaths. It is usually more common in patients diagnosed with neurofibromatosis. However, isolated cases of urinary bladder schwannoma is incredibly rare, attributing to <0.1% of bladder tumours. A literature review and analysis revealed that it presents in adulthood, is mostly symptomatic and diagnosis is established histologically. We report a case of isolated bladder schwannoma in 25 year-old female who presented with dyspareunia.

Abstract
Bladder schwannomas are exceedingly rare, benign or malignant, nerve sheath tumors that are most often discovered in patients with a known diagnosis of Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). A few sporadic case reports of bladder schwannoma have been published in urologic, obstetric/gynecologic, and pathologic journals. We report a case of an isolated schwannoma of the urinary bladder. To our knowledge, this represents only the sixth case of benign schwannoma of the urinary bladder in a patient without von Recklinghausen disease.

A few sporadic case reports of bladder schwannoma have been published in urologic, obstetric/gynecologic, and pathologic journals. Abstract
Most bladder tumors arise from the urothelium. However, there are several uncommon but significant bladder lesions that must be differentiated from urothelial carcinomas. These include both benign and malignant spindle cell lesions. The first half of this 2-part review will describe benign myofibroblastic proliferations including inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor and postoperative spindle cell nodule; benign neoplasms including leiomyoma, hemangioma, neurofibroma, and schwannoma; and tumors of uncertain malignant potential including paraganglioma, granular cell tumor, and perivascular epithelioid cell tumor. Common clinical presentations, morphological characteristics, and immunohistochemical features are described to aid the practicing pathologist in the identification of these entities. This review also describes current theories as to the pathogenesis of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor and postoperative spindle cell nodule and details the current molecular markers identifying several of these lesions.

Abstract
Primary schwannomas of the urinary bladder are extremely rare. They arise from Schwann's cells in nerve sheaths and are often associated with von Recklinghausen's disease. In these cases, open partial cystectomy has been the choice of treatment. We performed laparoscopic partial cystectomy in a 35-year-old man who showed a 3.5-cm solid bladder mass on pelvic CT. The lesion was found to be a primary schwannoma of the urinary bladder without evidence of von Recklinghausen disease.
