Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to determine the effect of breastfeeding training given with virtual reality (VR) to postpartum mothers after cesarean section delivery on breastfeeding success and breastfeeding self-efficacy. STUDY DESIGN The research was designed as a prospective randomized controlled study. In total, 66 women were included in the study, with 31 in the control group and 35 in the intervention group. The study included mothers who had no vision or hearing impairments and no neurological disorder, who had received breastfeeding counseling during pregnancy, and who had given birth by cesarean delivery to a healthy baby. The control group received standard breastfeeding training while the intervention group watched a breastfeeding video with VR in the 4th and 24th hours after cesarean delivery. Research data were collected with the sociodemographic information form, LATCH Breastfeeding Charting System and Documentation Tool and the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale. RESULTS As a result of the research, the women in the intervention group were found to have higher mean scores for the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale in the 4th and 24th hours compared to the control group. Mean LATCH scores were also higher in the intervention group compared to the control group. There were linear correlations between the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale scores and LATCH Scale scores. CONCLUSION Breastfeeding self-efficacy and breastfeeding success of mothers who received breastfeeding training with VR at 4th and 24th hours after cesarean delivery were higher than mothers who received standard breastfeeding training. Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of using virtual reality (VR) during burn dressing on the level of fear, anxiety, and pain that children would experience. This randomized controlled trial was conducted in a pretest-posttest design. Randomization of the participants (n = 65) was performed with the block randomization method. Then, 33 children were included in the intervention and 32 children in the control group with simple sequential randomization. The study data were collected using the "Family and Child Personal Information Form," "Physiological Parameters Registration Form," "Wong-Baker Faces Pain Scale," "Children's Fear Scale," and "Children's Anxiety Meter-State." The chi-square test, t-test, Shapiro-Wilk, mean, and percentile distributions were used for the data analysis. After dressing, the physiological parameters of the children who used VR were found to be within normal limits (HR: 108.48 ± 12.43, O2: 98.39 ± 1.14) compared to the children who did not use (HR: 117.38 ± 15.25, O2: 97.81 ± 1.35) (P < .05). After the dressing, children using VR (0.85 ± 1.23) were determined to have less fear than those who did not use them (3.03 ± 1.06), and similarly, children who used VR (2.64 ± 2.73) experienced less anxiety than those who did not use them (5.84 ± 2.26). When the pain levels were evaluated, the VR group (1.79 ± 2.04) was reported to feel less pain compared to the control group (5.50 ± 2.36). The VR used by children aged 5-10 years during burn dressing has been found to affect their physiological parameters and is effective in reducing fear, anxiety, and pain levels.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to determine the effect of virtual reality used during burn dressing in children on the satisfaction and anxiety levels of their parents. METHODS The study, which was designed as a prospective randomized controlled trial, was carried out with the parents of children aged 5-10 years who visited the only burns unit of a hospital in the northern region of Turkiye between 5 July 2021 and 1 April 2022 for dressing. There were a total of 52 participants in the study, 26 in the control and 26 in the intervention group. RESULTS The mean age of the children was 7.31 ± 1.81 years in the intervention group and 7.08 ± 1.72 in the control group. After the dressing was applied to the children, the mean anxiety score of the parents of the children was found to be 0.09 ± 0.28 in the intervention group and 0.64 ± 0.53 in the control group. The mean nursing care satisfaction score of the parents in the intervention group was found to be 4.70 ± 0.50 while it was 2.80 ± 0.26 in the control group. CONCLUSIONS In the study, while the anxiety levels of the ones in the intervention group decreased after the dressing, their satisfaction levels with nursing care were found higher than the control group. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS Nursing interventions that would reduce the pain and anxiety experienced by children during medical procedures are also effective in reducing the anxiety of parents, and therefore, they should be included in distraction efforts with their children.

Abstract
CONTEXT Being in the hospital can be stressful for children and caregivers. Evidence-based play interventions to reduce this stress, such as play therapy or Child Life services, have been introduced in hospitals globally, with growing awareness of potential benefits. OBJECTIVES To evaluate the impact of nonmedical/illness-specific creative or play-based programs in hospital settings on children's (<18 years) and their caregivers' hospital experiences, wellbeing, and other health outcomes. DATA SOURCES PubMed, CINAHL, Google Scholar. METHODS We conducted a systematic review of original articles published since 2011, screening 2701 de-duplicated articles. RESULTS We identified 25 eligible articles, representing 1629 children (57% male), 422 caregivers, and 128 health professionals. Included studies most commonly evaluated professional children's entertainers (n = 8 studies), music therapy (n = 4), unstructured play (n = 3), and humanoid/animal robots (n = 3). Most studies evaluated the impact on the child's level of anxiety (n = 14/25), mostly supporting a reduction (n = 13/14 studies). Several studies provided evidence for a reduction in children's pain (n = 4/6), and negative emotional/behavioral outcomes (eg, sadness, anger, irritability; n = 5/6 studies). There was mixed evidence for the impact of the included interventions on physiologic outcomes (eg, systolic pressure, heart frequency; n = 3/5 studies) and fatigue (n = 1/2 studies). Evidence on caregiver outcomes and the impact on health care services was limited. CONCLUSIONS The findings of our review generally supported the value of play-based interventions on children's' wellbeing while in the hospital, particularly reducing anxiety and pain. Further evaluation of their impact on caregivers' outcomes and the health care system is needed.

Abstract
Pain is one of the complications associated with burns, which can lead to anxiety and sleeplessness in children. Various studies evaluated the effects of non-pharmacological interventions on burn wound care. The present study was conducted to determine the effects of non-pharmacological interventions on pain intensity of children with burns. A comprehensive systematic search was conducted in various international electronic databases, such as Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and Persian electronic databases such as Iranmedex, and Scientific Information Database using keywords extracted from Medical Subject Headings such as 'Non-pharmacological', 'Virtual reality', 'Pain', 'Burn', 'Wound' and 'Child' from the earliest to December 1, 2022. The risk of bias in the final articles was also assessed with the Version 2 of the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomised trials (RoB 2). Finally, a total of 1005 burn patients were included in 19 studies. The age range of the patients was from 0.5 to 19 years. Of the participants, 50.05% were in the intervention group. All studies had a randomised clinical trial design. The results found that non-pharmacological interventions significantly reduced pain intensity in children (ES: -0.73, 95% CI: -1.08 to -0.38, Z = 4.09, I2 :79.8, P < .001). Virtual reality (VR) (ES: -0.54, 95% CI: -1.19 to -0.18, Z = 2.90, I2 :72.9%, P = .004) and non-VR (ES: -0.86, 95% CI: -1.45 to -0.27, Z = 2.86, I2 :91.4%, P = .04) interventions decreased pain intensity significantly in children based sub-group analysis. Non-pharmacological interventions significantly reduced the pain intensity of dressing removal (ES: -0.77, 95% CI: -1.34 to -0.20, Z = 66.3, I2 :91.8%, P = .008), dressing application (ES: -0.53, 95% CI: -0.97 to -0.09, Z = 2.37, I2 :60.8%, P = .02), and physical therapy (ES: -1.18, 95% CI: -2.10 to -0.26, Z = 2.51, I2 :88.0%, P = .01). Also, interventions reduced the pain of burn wound care (ES: -0.29, 95% CI: -1.01 to 0.44, Z = 0.78, I2 :72.6%, P = .43), but it was statistically insignificant. In sum, the result of the present study indicated that using non-pharmacological interventions significantly reduced pain intensity in children. The reduction of pain intensity was greater in non-VR than in VR interventions. Future studies should focus on comparing VR interventions with non-VR and single versus multi-modal distraction to clarify the effectiveness of each.

Curative Effect Observation of Applying Silver-Zinc Bacteriostatic Cream to Patients with Second-Degree Burn under Targeted Nursing Intervention and Its Effect on Wound Healing Rate. Abstract
Second-degree burn is the most common type of burn wound in the clinics, which presents a deeper wound, skin blisters, white or red bottom, and thick and clear fluid inside, is sensitive to tenderness, and turns white by compression [1, 2]. The aim of this study is to explore the efficacy of applying silver-zinc bacteriostatic cream to patients with second-degree burn under targeted nursing intervention and its effect on wound healing rate. A total of 110 patients with second-degree burn treated in our hospital from January 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the research object for the retrospective study. Between the experimental group and the control group, no statistical differences in patients' general information were observed (P > 0.05); 1 week, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks after treatment, the visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores of the experimental group were significantly lower (P < 0.05); and the total incidence rate of adverse reactions was remarkably lower in the experimental group (P < 0.05). On the basis of targeted nursing intervention, applying silver-zinc bacteriostatic cream obtains an obviously better clinical efficacy than silver sulfadiazine ointment in treating second-degree burn and works better in promoting wound healing, relieving pain sensation, and reducing adverse reactions.

Abstract
The current study is the first to explore the medical screen as a treatment to control the pain and its related psychological symptoms on children suffering from burns;. Compared with conventional dressing methods, the medical screen can be used as a novel way to decrease the negative experience of burn patients -ages 1–3 who require dressing changes. The medical screen is likely a feasible, acceptable and potentially efficacious treatment option for burns medical workers.
Objective To evaluate the impact of the specially designed medical dressing screen during wound dressing changes of children who suffered burns to their hand or foot. Design Randomized controlled trial. Setting Burns and Plastic Reconstruction Unit. Participants Children (NN = 120) with burns on up to 1%-–5% of the total body surface area. Interventions The patients were selected and randomly allocated to 3 equal-sized groups as follows:control group (N control group (N = 40): the children received only regular dressing changes; computer group (NN = 40): a touch-screen computer was used for children during dressing changes; medical screen group (NN = 40): a medical screen combined with the touch-screen computer were used for children during dressing changes. All patients underwent a dressing change once per day for four days. Data were distributed four times: immediately after the initial dressing change (T1); and immediately after each times at next three consecutive days (T2-T4).Main Outcome M–T4). Main outcome measures The Pain level of the children evaluated by medical staffs was the primary outcome, the Pain level of the children evaluated by children's parents and the satisfaction of wound therapist were used as second outcomes. Results The mean scores related to pain level at the medical screen group displayed significantly better results than those of control group and those of the computer group. Additionally, the results of the pain evaluated by parents and satisfaction score of the wound therapist at the medical screen group was also better than other groups. Conclusions This study demonstrated “that the” application of the medical screen for burns can relieve the pain of 1-–3 years old children suffering from a burns during dressing changes. Additionally, the application of the medical screen also increased the satisfaction of the parents and the wound therapist performing the dressing changes.
