Abstract
Introduction Postgraduate medical education assumes rising importance in the rapidly advancing field of medicine. Case-based learning (CBL), a learner-centered pedagogy employing clinical cases to improve decision-making, is widely embraced in postgraduate medical education, including nephrology. Studies suggest that learning self-efficacy (SE) was closely associated with learning motivation and academic performance; however, very few studies examined this association in postgraduate nephrology education. None evaluated whether there were interprofessional differences concerning such association. Methods In 2022, we prospectively enrolled physicians and nurses participating in chronic kidney disease (CKD) care from institutions around Taiwan. They completed the Professional Medical Learning Self-efficacy (PMLS) questionnaire after attending >1 CBL session involving CKD care. We undertook confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), followed by structural equation modeling (SEM) to evaluate associations between 5 dimensions of learning SE (conceptual understanding [CU], higher-order cognitive skills [HC], practical work [PW], everyday application [EA], and medical science communication [MSC]) and their professional SE in nephrology according to participants' medical professions. Results A total of 513 healthcare providers were surveyed. The convergent and construct validity of our questionnaire were satisfied after analyses. We found that better perceived professional performance in the form of higher professional SE in nephrology was significantly associated with all 5 dimensions of learning SE among physicians and nurses. Only CU and PW were significantly associated with physicians' professional performance; whereas among nurses, only HC and MSC were significantly associated. Conclusion We showed that learning SE was an important determinant of nephrology professional performance. Different medical professions posed influences on major SE dimensions.

Abstract
(1) Background: The nursing profession is associated with various stereotypes. These social images or prejudices against specific groups can inhibit the personal growth of individuals, e.g., sociodemographic characteristics influence the social image of nurses. Based on the forward-looking topic digitization, we examined and discussed the influences of sociodemographic characteristics and motives of hospital nurses on technical readiness to gain insights into the digitization process in hospital nursing. (2) Methods: As part of an online survey on technical readiness among German hospital nurses, we particularly examined sociodemographic influences on technical readiness and the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and professional motives. Furthermore, we included a qualitative analysis of optional comment fields. (3) Results: The analysis included 295 responses. Age and gender had a significant influence on technical readiness. Furthermore, the importance of motives differed between gender and age. The analysis of the comments produced three categories specifying our results: beneficial experiences, obstructive experiences and further conditions. (4) Conclusions: In general, the nurses showed high technical readiness. In order to gain high motivation for digitization and promote personal growth, special targeting and cooperation between gender and age groups can be beneficial. However, there are more sites at system level, such as funding, cooperation and consistence.

Abstract
COVID-19 has affected millions of people around the globe. People's mental health, especially those of nurses, has been primarily affected by the fear of this virus. More focus has been paid to vaccination and treatment of the virus, but less attestation has been given to addressing the mental health of people affected by the virus. Empirical studies show that different external factors are not easily manageable and controllable by the individual. This study preliminarily explores the connection between fear of COVID-19 and secondary traumatic stress in nurses. Further, it examines the moderating effects of occupational self-efficacy on the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and secondary traumatic stress. Data for the study was collected from the nurses of six large hospitals in Karachi, Pakistan. The final analysis was performed on 243 samples. Studies on COVID-19 suggest that increased occupational self-efficacy decreases fear and its impact. This study offers insights for managers to develop stress management programs and provide proper training and counseling sessions to the nurses to motivate them emotionally. Theoretically, this study broadens the understanding of the theory of emotions by using the pandemic as a stressor. Future studies may explore different roles of occupational self-efficacy and study its influential role in managing different kinds of emotions explained by the theory of emotions. Managers at the workplace could design different self-efficacy training for nurses to increase their self-motivation to fight different types of stress they face at the workplace.

Abstract
AIM This study aimed to identify and compare age stereotypes of registered nurses and supervisors in clinical inpatient settings. DESIGN Generic qualitative study using half-standardized interviews. METHOD Nineteen face-to-face interviews and five focus groups (N = 50) were conducted with nurses of varying levels at a hospital of maximum medical care in Germany between August and November 2018 and were subjected to structured qualitative content analysis. RESULTS Reflecting the ageing process and cooperation in mixed-age teams, nursing staff and supervisors defined similar age stereotypes towards older and younger nurses reminiscent of common generational labels 'Baby Boomers' and Generations X. Their evaluation created an inconsistent and contradictory pattern differing to the respective work context and goals. Age stereotypes were described as both potentially beneficial and detrimental for the individual and the cooperation in the team. If a successfully implemented diversity management focuses age stereotypes, negative assumptions can be reduced and cooperation in mixed-age teams can be considered beneficial. CONCLUSION Diversity management as measures against age stereotypes and for mutual acceptance and understanding should include staff from various hierarchical levels of the inpatient setting.
