Abstract
Manure is a potential substitute for chemical phosphate fertilizer, especially in intensive agriculture, such as greenhouse farming, but the associations between soil phosphorus (P) availability and the soil microbial community under manure application instead of chemical phosphate fertilizers are still rarely addressed. In this study, a field experiment in greenhouse farming with manure application instead of chemical phosphate fertilizers was established, including five treatments: a control with conventional fertilization and chemical phosphate fertilizer substitution treatments using manure as the sole P resource at 25% (0.25 Po), 50% (0.50 Po), 75% (0.75 Po), and 100% (1.00 Po) of the control. Except for 1.00 Po, all the treatments applied with manure harbored similar levels of available P (AP) as the control. Most of the bacterial taxa involved in P transformation were enriched in manure treatments. Treatments of 0.25 Po and 0.50 Po significantly enhanced bacterial inorganic P (Pi) dissolution capacity, while 0.25 Po decreased bacterial organic P (Po) mineralization capacity. In contrast, the 0.75 Po and 1.00 Po treatments significantly decreased the bacterial Pi dissolution capacity and increased the Po mineralization capacity. Further analysis revealed that the changes in the bacterial community were significantly correlated with soil pH, total carbon (TC), total nitrogen (TN), and AP. These results revealed the dosage effect of the impact of manure on soil P availability and microbial P transformation capacity and emphasized that an appropriate dosage of organic manure is important in practical production.

Abstract
Marine microbes provide the backbone for pelagic ecosystems by cycling and fixing nutrients and establishing the base of food webs. Microbial communities are often assumed to be highly connected and genetically mixed, with localized environmental filters driving minor changes in structure. Our study applied high-throughput Illumina 16S ribosomal RNA gene amplicon sequencing on whole-community bacterial samples to characterize geographic, environmental, and stochastic drivers of community diversity. DNA was extracted from seawater collected from the surface (N = 18) and at depth just below the deep chlorophyll-a maximum (DCM mean depth = 115.4 m; N = 22) in the Sargasso Sea and adjacent oceanographic regions. Discrete bacterioplankton assemblages were observed at varying depths in the North Sargasso Sea, with a signal for distance-decay of bacterioplankton community similarity found only in surface waters. Bacterial communities from different oceanic regions could be distinguished statistically but exhibited a low magnitude of divergence. Redundancy analysis identified temperature as the key environmental variable correlated with community structuring. The effect of dispersal limitation was weak, while variation partitioning and neutral community modeling demonstrated stochastic processes influencing the communities. This study advances understanding of microbial biogeography in the pelagic ocean and highlights the use of high-throughput sequencing methods in studying microbial community structure.

Abstract
The introduction of oysters to a waterbody is an efficient method for decreasing levels of eutrophication. Oysters affect sedimental environments and benthic microbes via their roles in nutrient cycling. However, little is known about how long-term oyster culturing affects benthic microbial community assembly. In the present study, top and bottom sediments from an oyster-culture area and non-culture area, in a eutrophic bay with a long history of oyster culturing, were obtained for environmental parameter measurement and microbe identification. Deterministic and stochastic processes in microbial community assembly were assessed. In particular, keystone species identification through network analysis was combined with measured environmental parameters to determine the factors related to community assembly processes. Our results suggest that oyster culturing relates to greater variation in both biological and non-biological sediment profiles. In benthic communities, Proteobacteria and Chloroflexi were the most abundant phyla, and community compositions were significantly different between sample groups. We also found that community assembly was more affected by deterministic factors than stochastic ones, when oysters were present. Moisture, or water content, and pH were identified as affecting deterministic and stochastic processes, respectively, but only water content was a driver associated with oyster culturing. Additionally, although keystone species presented a similar pattern of composition to peripheral species, they responded to their environments differently. Furthermore, model selection, fitting keystone species to community assembly processes, indicates their role in shaping microbial communities.
