Abstract
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), derived from the centrifugation and subsequent separation of whole blood, results in an unusually high concentration of platelets. A newer form of platelet concentrate, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), has also been developed. There has been significant research into the therapeutic effects of PRP, particularly in enhancing wound healing and preventing infections in surgical wounds. This scoping review aims to thoroughly evaluate preclinical and clinical evidence regarding the antimicrobial effects of PRP and PRF. In conducting this review, 612 records were examined, and 36 articles were selected for inclusion. The studies reviewed include preclinical research, such as in-vitro and in-vivo studies, and clinical trials involving human participants. The current clinical evidence suggests a notable trend towards the antimicrobial capabilities of PRP and PRF, underscoring their potential benefits in treating wounds. The application of PRP and PRF in wound management shows encouraging outcomes, but further investigation is needed to optimize their use as antimicrobial agents. Additional research, particularly randomized controlled trials, is essential to substantiate their antimicrobial effectiveness in specific diseases and types of wounds, considering their potential impact on clinical results.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The morbidity associated with ageing has contributed to an increase in the prevalence of Pressure Ulcers (PUs) in all care settings. The impact of these on people's quality of life and the extent of the associated economic and social burden constitutes today, by their importance, a serious public health problem. This study aims to describe the nursing work environment in Portuguese long-term care (LTC) units and to assess how this environment relates to the quality of PU care. METHODS A longitudinal study among inpatients with PUs was conducted in LTC units. The Nursing Work Index-Revised Scale (NWI-R) was sent to all nurses in these units. Cox proportional hazard models were used to relate the satisfaction degree with the service (measured by the NWI-R-PT items) to the healing time of the PUs, adjusting for confounders. RESULTS A total of 165 of 451 invited nurses completed the NWI-R-PT. Most were women (74.6%) and had 1 to 5 years of professional experience. Less than half (38.4%) had education in wound care. Of the 88 patients identified with PUs, only 63 had their PU documented, highlighting the difficulties in updating electronic records. The results showed that the level of concordance with Q28 "Floating so that staffing is equalised among units" is strongly associated with a shorter PU healing time. CONCLUSION A good distribution of nursing staff over the units will likely improve the quality of wound care. We found no evidence for possible associations with the questions on participation in policy decisions, salary level, or staffing educational development and their relationship with PUs healing times.

Abstract
Destroying the integrity of the skin may causes disability and even death from injury or illness. Wound healing is a core mechanism to maintain skin barrier function. Milk fat-globule epidermal growth factor 8 (MFG-E8) is a key factor in wound healing and is involved in regulating blood coagulation, mediating macrophage uptake of apoptotic cells, shifting macrophages from an inflammatory to an anti-inflammatory phenotype, promoting angiogenesis, enhancing vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling, and assisting wound tissue perfusion. However, these abilities are dysregulated in pathological conditions, such as glucose disorders and ischemic injury. Restricted application of exogenous MFG-E8 can restore function and play a beneficial role in cutaneous wound healing.

Abstract
Platelet rich plasma or PRP is a supraphysiologic concentrate of platelets derived by centrifugation and separation of whole blood components. Along with platelets and plasma, PRP contains various cell types including white blood cells (WBC)/leukocytes, both granulocytes (neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils) and agranulocytes (monocytes, lymphocytes). Researchers and clinicians have explored the application of PRP in wound healing and prevention of surgical wound infections, such as deep sternal wounds. We conducted this systematic literature review to evaluate the preclinical and clinical evidence for the antibacterial effect of PRP and its potential mechanism of action. 526 records were identified for screening. 34 unique articles were identified to be included in this literature review for data summary. Overall, the quality of the clinical trials in this review is low, and collectively qualify as Oxford level C. Based on the available clinical data, there is a clear trend towards safety of autologous PRP and potential efficacy in deep sternal wound management. The preclinical and bench data is very compelling. The application of PRP in treatment of wounds or prevention of infection with PRP is promising but there is a need for foundational bench and preclinical animal research to optimize PRP as an antibacterial agent, and to provide data to aid in the design and conduct of well-designed RCTs with adequate power to confirm antimicrobial efficacy of PRP in specific disease states and wound types.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this current research is to investigate the effectiveness of the nursing intervention of combination gelatin sponge and moist wound healing in treating the pressure ulcers (PUs). METHODS This is a randomized controlled trial to be carried out from January 2021 to May 2021. This trial is implemented in accordance with the SPIRIT Checklist for the randomized researches and was granted through the Ethics Committee of 5th Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital (No. 0624876). This study includes 80 PU participants. The patients meet the following criteria will be included. All participants meet the diagnostic criteria recommended via the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel Society: complete skin defect, no bones, tendons and muscles exposure, no subcutaneous tunnel or scale; the patients selected are between 40 and 60 years old. The patients with the following criteria will be excluded: receiving other treatments that may influence the healing, for instance, radiation therapy and corticosteroids; patients with the complications of infection, malignant tumors, as well as peripheral vascular disease; and patients with serious diseases, containing kidney, cardiac, and liver diseases. The patients are randomly divided into 2 groups, the control group and study group, with 40 members in each group. In control group, the patients are given the routine nursing care. And in study group, the patients are given the nursing of gelatin sponge combined with moist wound-healing. After 28 days, the state of the patients healing is observed closely, containing the dressing change frequency, curative effects, and the end-point efficiency. On the basis of the Pressure Ulcer Healing Scale developed by the American pressure sore expert group, the quantitative scoring can be implemented, and therapeutic effects are assessed. RESULTS The variables of clinical result among the groups are illustrated in the Table. CONCLUSION The nursing intervention of gelatin sponge combined with the moist wound- healing may evidently increase the healing efficiency of PU. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER researchregistry 6091.

Abstract
Planarian freshwater flatworms have the unique ability to regenerate due to stem cell activity. The process of regeneration is extremely sensitive to various factors, including light radiation. Here, the effect of low-intensity LED light of different wavelengths on regeneration, stem cell proliferation and gene expression associated with these processes was studied. LED matrices with different wavelengths (red (λmax = 635 nm), green (λmax = 520 nm) and blue (λmax = 463 nm), as well as LED laser diodes (red (λmax = 638.5 nm), green (λmax = 533 nm) and blue (λmax = 420 nm), were used in the experiments. Computer-assisted morphometry, whole-mount immunocytochemical study and RT-PCR were used to analyze the biological effects of LED light exposure on the planarian regeneration in vivo. It was found that a one-time exposure of regenerating planarians with low-intensity red light diodes stimulated head blastema growth in a dose-dependent manner (up to 40%). The green light exposure of planarians resulted in the opposite effect, showing a reduced head blastema growth rate by up to 21%. The blue light exposure did not lead to any changes in the rate of head blastema growth. The maximum effects of light exposure were observed at a dose of 175.2 mJ/cm2. No significant differences were revealed in the dynamics of neoblasts' (planarian stem cells) proliferation under red and green light exposure. However, the RT-PCR gene expression analysis of 46 wound-induced genes revealed their up-regulation upon red LED light exposure, and down-regulation upon green light exposure. Thus, we have demonstrated that the planarian regeneration process is rather sensitive to the effects of low-intensity light radiation of certain wavelengths, the biological activity of red and green light being dictated by the different expression of the genes regulating transcriptional activity.

Abstract
Natural endogenous voltage gradients not only predict and correlate with growth and development but also drive wound healing and regeneration processes. This review summarizes the existing literature for the nature, sources, and transmission of information-bearing bioelectric signals involved in controlling wound healing and regeneration in animals, humans, and plants. It emerges that some bioelectric characteristics occur ubiquitously in a range of animal and plant species. However, the limits of similarities are probed to give a realistic assessment of future areas to be explored. Major gaps remain in our knowledge of the mechanistic basis for these processes, on which regenerative therapies ultimately depend. In relation to this, it is concluded that the mapping of voltage patterns and the processes generating them is a promising future research focus, to probe three aspects: the role of wound/regeneration currents in relation to morphology; the role of endogenous flux changes in driving wound healing and regeneration; and the mapping of patterns in organisms of extreme longevity, in contrast with the aberrant voltage patterns underlying impaired healing, to inform interventions aimed at restoring them.

Extract from Periostracum cicadae Inhibits Oxidative Stress and Inflammation Induced by Ultraviolet B Irradiation on HaCaT Keratinocytes. Abstract
Periostracum cicadae is widely used for the treatment of skin diseases such as eczema, pruritus, and itching. The current study sought to evaluate the effect of P. cicadae extract on ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation and identify the mechanisms involved. Photodamage-protective activity of P. cicadae extracts against oxidative challenge was screened using HaCaT keratinocytes. P. cicadae extracts did not affect cell viability but decreased reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. The extract attenuates the expression of interleukin-6 (IL-6), matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), and MMP-9 in UVB-treated HaCaT cells. Also, P. cicadae abrogated UVB-induced activation of NF-κB, p53, and activator protein-1 (AP-1). The downmodulation of IL-6 by P. cicadae was inhibited by the p38 inhibitor (SB203580) or JNK inhibitor (SP600125). Moreover, the extract attenuated the expression of NF-κB and induced thrombomodulin in keratinocytes and thereby effectively downregulated inflammatory responses in the skin. The nuclear accumulation and expression of NF-E2-related factor (Nrf2) were increased by P. cicadae treatment. Furthermore, treatment with P. cicadae remarkably ameliorated the skin's structural damage induced by irradiation. This study demonstrates that P. cicadae may protect skin cells against oxidative insult by modulating ROS concentration, IL-6, MMPs generation, antioxidant enzymes activity, and cell signaling pathways.
