Unilateral microcornea and enophthalmos with bilateral anterior and posterior anomalies

Isolated microcornea: case report and relation to other "small eye" phenotypes

Isolated microcornea is a very rarely-described condition of reduced cornea size (less than 11 mm horizontal diameter) in an individual without other significant ocular (or systemic) findings. This case report describes the biometric features of a boy with isolated microcornea (the youngest and most completely described patient to the best of our knowledge) and suggests that the condition is the same entity as relative anterior microphthalmos.

Colobomatous macrophthalmia with microcornea

The ocular malformation of microcornea, uveal coloboma, high myopia, posterior staphyloma, and macrophthalmia was studied in a family. Clinical characteristics and ocular parameters, including refractive error and axial length, are summarized. The pedigree is consistent with autosomal dominant inheritance of the disorder; expressivity is variable. This unique malformation is differentiated from other well-recognized syndromes of colobomatous microphthalmia.
