Abstract
LAY ABSTRACT How non-autistic people think about autistic people impacts autistic people negatively. Many studies developed trainings to reduce autism stigma. The existing trainings vary a lot in terms of study design, content, and reported effectiveness. This means that a review studying how the studies have been conducted is needed. We also looked at the quality of these studies. We collected and studied 26 studies that tried to reduce stigma toward autistic people. The studies often targeted White K-12 students and college students. Most trainings were implemented once. Trainings frequently used video or computer. Especially, recent studies tended to use online platforms. The study quality was poor for most studies. Some studies made inaccurate claims about the intervention effectiveness. Studies did not sufficiently address study limitations. Future trainings should aim to figure out why and how interventions work. How intervention changes people's behavior and thoughts should be studied. Researchers should study whether the training can change the societal stigma. Also, researchers should use a better study design.

Abstract
It is currently unknown how quantitative diffusion and myelin MRI designs affect the results of a longitudinal study. We used two independent datasets containing 6 monthly MRI measurements from 20 healthy controls and 20 relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RR-MS) patients. Six designs were tested, including 3 MRI acquisitions, either over 6 months or over a shorter study duration, with balanced (same interval) or unbalanced (different interval) time intervals between MRI acquisitions. First, we show that in RR-MS patients, the brain changes over time obtained with 3 MRI acquisitions were similar to those observed with 5 MRI acquisitions and that designs with an unbalanced time interval showed the highest similarity, regardless of study duration. No significant brain changes were found in the healthy controls over the same periods. Second, the study duration affects the sample size in the RR-MS dataset; a longer study requires more subjects and vice versa. Third, the number of follow-up acquisitions and study duration affect the sensitivity and specificity of the associations with clinical parameters, and these depend on the white matter bundle and MRI measure considered. Together, this suggests that the optimal design depends on the assumption of the dynamics of change in the target population and the accuracy required to capture these dynamics. Thus, this work provides a better understanding of key factors to consider in a longitudinal study and provides clues for better strategies in clinical trial design.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Individuals' physical and mental health, as well as their chances of returning to work after their ability to work is damaged, can be addressed by medical rehabilitation. AIM This study investigated the developmental trends of mental and physical health among patients in medical rehabilitation and the roles of self-efficacy and physical fitness in the development of mental and physical health. DESIGN A longitudinal design that included four time-point measurements across 15 months. SETTING A medical rehabilitation center in Germany. POPULATION Participants included 201 patients who were recruited from a medical rehabilitation center. METHODS To objectively measure physical fitness (lung functioning), oxygen reabsorption at anaerobic threshold (VO2AT) was used, along with several self-report scales. RESULTS We found a nonlinear change in mental health among medical rehabilitation patients. The results underscored the importance of medical rehabilitation for patients' mental health over time. In addition, patients' physical health was stable over time. The initial level of physical fitness (VO2AT) positively predicted their mental health and kept the trend more stable. Self-efficacy appeared to have a positive relationship with mental health after rehabilitation treatment. CONCLUSIONS This study revealed a nonlinear change in mental health among medical rehabilitation patients. Self-efficacy was positively related to mental health, and the initial level of physical fitness positively predicted the level of mental health after rehabilitation treatment. CLINICAL REHABILITATION More attention could be given to physical capacity and self-efficacy for improving and maintaining rehabilitants' mental health.

Abstract
A new inpatient secondary preventive program for patients with musculoskeletal health problems was introduced throughout Austria. The aim of the current work was to evaluate this "Health Prevention Active" program and its possible influences on the quality of medical results upon hospital discharge.This observational study presents monocentric data for 7448 patients (48.99 ± 6.15 years; 53.7% women) with chronic musculoskeletal disorders who completed a 3-week health program. The focus was placed on measuring medical quality outcomes such as BMI, blood pressure, heart rate, pain, subjective ratings, and achieved power output in cycle ergometer exercise testing. We describe pre-post changes before and after the inpatient program and the results of a follow-up survey conducted after 1 year to identify moderating factors related to health outcomes.The medical baseline showed obvious deficits regarding obesity, hypertension, and subjective symptoms. Of all patients, 36.5% were completely inactive. The patient's gender and physical activity had a high impact on the medical baseline status. In total, the majority of patients (86.2%; SMD = -0.78 ± 0.59) responded well to the health prevention program, independent of their ages and lifestyles.Requirements for secondary prevention programs are high. The results of the study reflect the general problems presented by inactivity, obesity, and subjective symptoms like pain. Physical activity was specifically identified as a major factor for the observed medical baseline status.

Abstract
Quality assessment is gaining in importance in sports orthopedics and traumatology. Structural, process and results quality are differentiated as central quality dimensions in healthcare. Structural quality is understood to mean the capabilities of the institution involved in patient care with its human and material resources. Structural quality can be documented using institutional certificates (e.g. knee center of the German Knee Society, DKG) or personal certificates (e.g. DKG knee surgeon). Process quality evaluates all medical, nursing and administrative activities that are involved in the care process. The outcome quality describes changes in the patient's state of health that can be attributed to medical, nursing and physiotherapeutic measures. The measurement of the outcome quality can be broken down into objective and subjective parameters. In terms of subjective parameters patient reported outcome measures (PROM) play a major role. Another quality initiative in recent years can be seen in healthcare research. In this context medical registers play a role in which long-term healthcare data are prospectively collated and involves data on the quality of the process and outcome. The outcome quality is also the focus of value-based reimbursement systems.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Rehabilitation plays a vital role in the mitigation and improvement of functional limitations associated with aging and chronic conditions. Moderating factors such as sex, age, the medical diagnosis, and rehabilitation timing for admission status, as well as the expected change related to inpatient rehabilitation, are examined to provide a valid basis for the routine assessment of the quality of medical outcomes. DESIGN An observational study was carried out, placing a focus on general and disease-specific health measurements, to assess representative results of multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation. Aspects that were possibly confounding and introduced bias were controlled based on data from a quasi-experimental (waiting) control group. MEASURES Existing data or general health indicators were extracted from medical records. The indicators included blood pressure, resting heart rate, self-assessed health, and pain, as well as more disease-specific indicators of physical function and performance (eg, activities of daily living, walking tests, blood lipids). These are used to identify moderating factors related to health outcomes. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS A standardized collection of routine data from 16,966 patients [61.5 ± 12.5 years; 7871 (46%) women, 9095 (54%) men] with different medical diagnoses before and after rehabilitation were summarized using a descriptive evaluation in terms of a content and factor analysis. RESULTS Without rehabilitation, general health indicators did not improve independently and remained stable at best [odds ratio (OR) = 0.74], whereas disease-specific indicators improved noticeably after surgery (OR = 3.20). Inpatient rehabilitation was shown to reduce the risk factors associated with certain lifestyles, optimize organ function, and improve well-being in most patients (>70%; cutoff: z-difference >0.20), with a standardized mean difference (SMD) seen in overall medical quality outcome of -0.48 ± 0.37 [pre- vs post-rehabilitation: ηp2 = 0.622; dCohen = -1.22; 95% confidence interval (95% CI) -1.24 to -1.19]. The baseline medical values obtained at the beginning of rehabilitation were influenced by indication, age, and sex (all P < .001); however, these factors have less significant effects on improvements in general health indicators (ηp2 < 0.01). According to the disease-specific results, the greatest improvements were found in older patients (SMD for patients >60 vs ≤60 years: 95% CI 0.08-0.11) and during the early rehabilitation stage (ηp2 = 0.063). CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS Compared with those who received no inpatient rehabilitation, patients who received rehabilitation showed greater improvements in 2 independent areas, general and disease-specific health measures, regardless of their diagnosis, age, and sex. Due to the study design and the use of a nonrandomized waiting group, causal conclusions must be drawn with caution. However, the comparability and stability of the presented results strongly support the validity of the observed improvements associated with inpatient rehabilitation.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Loneliness is an emerging public health problem that is associated with social, emotional, mental and physical health issues. The application of digital technology (DT) interventions to reduce loneliness has significantly increased in the recent years. The effectiveness of DT interventions needs to be assessed systematically. METHODS AND ANALYSIS Aim: To undertake a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effectiveness of DT interventions to reduce loneliness among adults. DESIGN Systematic review and meta-analysis. DATA SOURCES PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, EMBASE and Web of Science.Publication period: 1 January 2010 to 31 July 2019. INCLUSION CRITERIA Primary studies involving the application of DT interventions to reduce loneliness, involving adult participants (aged ≥18 years), follow-up period ≥3 months and published in the English language.Synthesis and meta-analysis: A narrative summary of the characteristics of included studies, findings by the type of DT intervention, and the age, gender and ethnicity of participants. A meta-analysis by the study design and duration of follow-up and determination of random effects size using the RevMan V.5 software.Quality of evidence and bias: Quality of evidence assessed the RoB V.2.0 (revised tool for Risk of Bias in randomized trials) and ROBINS-I (Risk Of Bias in Non-randomized Studies-of Interventions) tools for randomised control trials and non-randomised studies, respectively. Heterogeneity between studies will be determined by the I2 and Cochran's Q statistics and publication bias checked with funnel plots and the Egger's test. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethics approval was not required for this protocol. The findings will be disseminated through journal articles and conference presentations.
