Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aims to examine the prevalence of comorbidities in adult patients with psoriasis and compare them with those in control subjects without psoriasis in Tianjin, China. DESIGN The study is a cross-sectionalanalysis. PARTICIPANTS The participants were established by identifying all patients (age ≥18 years) who visited hospitals and clinics in Tianjin between 1 January 2016 and 31 October 2019. SETTING The study group consisted of 20 678 adult patients with psoriasis, and a comparison group was created after 1:1 propensity score matching. Logistic regression analyses were conducted to examine the risk of 22 comorbidities for these two groups. RESULTS Patients with psoriasis had a significantly higher prevalence of 11 comorbidities and a lower prevalence of 2 comorbidities within 12 months of follow-up. Our results also showed that the proportion of psoriatic arthritis might account for approximately 2% of all patients with psoriasis. This psoriatic arthritis group had a higher average age and CCI (Charlson Comorbidity Index) index score (2.27 >1.62, p <0.001) than the non-arthritis group. CONCLUSIONS This study showed that psoriasis in Tianjin is associated with various comorbidities. It also emphasises the importance of clinical treatment in improving therapeutic effects and reducing the burden of psoriasis in China.

Abstract
Secukinumab is effective in treating patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. However, most studies assessing its effectiveness in routine clinical settings in China are mostly single-center studies with a limited sample size. The objective of this study was to assess secukinumab's efficacy, treatment patterns, and characteristics in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. This 24-week, multicenter (n = 5) retrospective study analyzed the data of Chinese adult patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who initiated secukinumab treatment between May 2019 and March 2020. The Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), body surface area (BSA), Investigator's Global Assessment Modified 2011 (IGA mod 2011), and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) were assessed. Dermatologists documented the treatment dosage and modification reasons. Of the 244 secukinumab-naïve patients, most were men (73.4%, 179/244) and weighed 60-90 kg (72.8%, 177/243). The mean (SD) age at secukinumab initiation was 38.1 (11.6) years, and the disease duration was 13.5 (7.9) years. Most patients (97.1%, 237/244) received secukinumab 300 mg. At weeks 4, 12, 16, and 24, the proportion of patients achieving PASI 75 (≥75% reduction from baseline) was 40.0%, 92.1%, 88.4%, and 88.9%, respectively; PASI 90 was 15.0%, 73.7%, 81.4%, and 68.3%, respectively; and PASI 100 was 8.7%, 40.8%, 58.1%, and 41.3%, respectively. During the same periods, BSA and IGA mod 2011 showed similar improvement trends. An increasing proportion of patients achieved DLQI of 0-1 (21.6%, 65.7%, 75.0%, and 80.3%, respectively). Treatment modification was highest at week 12. The average interval between two administrations after week 4 was 62.95 days. Secukinumab was highly effective in improving the PASI, IGA, BSA, and DLQI in Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis throughout the first 24 weeks. The treatment pattern for Chinese patients differs from that in the clinical guidelines.

Abstract
Objectives Psoriasis is a skin disease thought to be related to immune system dysfunction. Our study is aimed at analyzing the prevalence of psoriasis in China in multiple different categories and compared the prevalence at the global level, in order to bring insights to policymakers for treating this disease. Methods We analyzed psoriasis trends from 1990 to 2019 in China as well as around the globe with data from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 study. Multiple metrics such as age-standardized prevalence rates, percent change in age-standardized prevalence rates, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), and age and sex patterns were included. We also predicted the trends of psoriasis prevalence and DALYs in the following 30 years. Results In China, the age-specific prevalence cases showed a right shift in 2019 compared to 1990 with a peak between the ages of 50 and 54 years and an obvious surpass in males between 40 and 69. Though China still had the largest number of psoriasis cases in 2019, the increase rate was below global level. A positive linear relationship between psoriasis prevalence and comorbidities was seen with rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes mellitus, multiple sclerosis, nonrheumatic valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy and myocarditis, nonmelanoma skin cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and multiple myeloma in China within the male group in 2019. Discussion. The burden of psoriasis, as measured by the absolute number of DALYs, continues to increase around the world. The scarcity of modifiable risks for most psoriasis burdens suggests that new knowledge is needed to develop effective prevention and treatment strategies.

Abstract
Purpose Psoriasis is a serious health problem. Since limited research has investigated the impact of psoriasis on the quality of life of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis, this study aimed to explore this issue. Methods A qualitative study was conducted with 22 psoriasis patients from two cities in Shandong province of eastern China participating in one-to-one semi-structured in-depth interviews. Results Thematic analysis generated five major themes: (1) Symptoms, symptoms management and pain; (2) Functioning and activities of daily living (ADLs); (3) Psychological impact; (4) Social impact; (5) Employment and finances. Conclusion Our study detailed the effects of psoriasis on patients’ symptoms, symptoms management and pain, functioning and activities of daily living (ADLs), psychological impact, social impact, employment and finances. These data can provide a reference for studying the quality of life in patients with psoriasis.

Abstract
Background This study explored the mechanism of action of Ephedrae Herba-Cinnamomi Ramulus couplet medicine (MGCM) at the pharmacological level in the treatment of psoriasis. Material/Methods The active ingredients in MGCM were mined through literature retrieval and the BATMAN-TCM database, and potential targets were predicted. In addition, targets associated with psoriasis were acquired using multiple disease-related databases. Thereafter, an interaction network between candidate MGCM targets and the known psoriasis-associated targets was constructed based on the protein–protein interaction (PPI) data, using the STRING database. Then, the topological parameter degree was determined for mining the core targets for MGCM in the treatment of psoriasis, which also represented the major hubs within the PPI network. In addition, the core networks of targets and ingredients were constructed using Cytoscape software to apply MGCM in the treatment for psoriasis. These core targets were then analyzed for Gene Ontology biological processes and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment using OmicShare. Results The ingredient-target core network of MGCM for treating psoriasis was constructed; it contained 52 active ingredients and corresponded to 19 core targets. In addition, based on enrichment analysis, these core targets were majorly enriched for several biological processes (immuno-inflammatory responses, leukocyte differentiation, energy metabolism, angiogenesis, and programmed cell death) together with the relevant pathways (Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription, toll-like receptors, nuclear factor κB, vascular endothelial growth factor, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor), thus identifying the possible mechanism of action of MGCM in treating psoriasis. Conclusions The present network pharmacology study indicated that MGCM alleviates various pathological factors of psoriasis through multiple compounds, multiple targets, and multiple pathways.

Abstract
Objective To elucidate the pharmacological mechanisms of Qubi Formula (QBF), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula which has been demonstrated as an effective therapy for psoriasis in China. Methods The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology (TCMSP) database, BATMAN-TCM database, and literature search were used to excavate the pharmacologically active ingredients of QBF and to predict the potential targets. Psoriasis-related targets were obtained from Therapeutic Target Database (TTD), DrugBank database (DBD), MalaCards database, and DisGeNET database. Then, we established the network concerning the interactions of potential targets of QBF with well-known psoriasis-related targets by using protein-protein interaction (PPI) data in String database. Afterwards, topological parameters (including DNMC, Degree, Closeness, and Betweenness) were calculated to excavate the core targets of Qubi Formula in treating psoriasis (main targets in the PPI network). Cytoscape was used to construct the ingredients-targets core network for Qubi Formula in treating psoriasis, and ClueGO was used to perform GO-BP and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis on these core targets. Results The ingredient-target-disease core network of QBF in treating psoriasis was screened to contain 175 active ingredients, which corresponded to 27 core targets. Additionally, enrichment analysis suggested that targets of QBF in treating psoriasis were mainly clustered into multiple biological processes (associated with nuclear translocation of proteins, cellular response to multiple stimuli (immunoinflammatory factors, oxidative stress, and nutrient substance), lymphocyte activation, regulation of cyclase activity, cell-cell adhesion, and cell death) and related pathways (VEGF, JAK-STAT, TLRs, NF-κB, and lymphocyte differentiation-related pathways), indicating the underlying mechanisms of QBF on psoriasis. Conclusion In this work, we have successfully illuminated that Qubi Formula could relieve a wide variety of pathological factors (such as inflammatory infiltration and abnormal angiogenesis) of psoriasis in a "multicompound, multitarget, and multipathway" manner by using network pharmacology. Moreover, our present outcomes might shed light on the further clinical application of QBF on psoriasis treatment.
