Abstract
AIMS The recent rise in the number of nonagenarians (age ≥ 90 years) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has revealed gaps in research, in particular on patients' experiences. Therefore, the aim of the study was to explore and describe nonagenarians' internal resources and their experiences of the in-hospital pathway. METHODS AND RESULTS Nineteen nonagenarian patients (women n = 9), mean age 91 years, 9 acutely, and 10 electively treated, were consecutively enrolled from a tertiary university hospital from June 2021 to February 2023. In-depth interviews were conducted during hospitalization, audiotaped and transcribed. The interviews were analysed using qualitative content analysis. Three sub-themes emerged from the nonagenarians' experiences with the PCI treatment trajectory: (i) Taking lifelong responsibility for own physical and mental health describes a population striving to live a healthy life and to stay independent. Physical and mental activities including healthy food choices had been an integral aspect of their lives from early childhood. (ii) Individual internal resources influenced the PCI pathway describes how their internal resources were used, from actively engaging in the decision-making process to withstanding discomfort during the PCI procedure. (iii) The post-PCI pathway was multifaceted describes a short stay at the cardiac ward with individual post-procedural experiences, close monitoring, and preparation for discharge including cardiac rehabilitation. CONCLUSION Nonagenarians undergoing PCI demonstrated a personal incentive to stay healthy and independent. Their internal resources of independence, stoicism, and resilience were used during their in-hospital stay contributing to a successful PCI procedure. Individual cardiac rehabilitation strategies were highlighted after discharge from hospital.

Abstract
AIM There are discrepancies between the information patients desire about adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and the information they receive from healthcare providers; this is an impediment to shared decision-making. This study aimed to establish whether patients received information about ADRs resulting from prescribed pharmacotherapy, before hospital discharge, after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and to determine whether receiving information about ADRs was associated with incidence of self-reported ADRs or concerns related to prescribed pharmacotherapy. METHODS CONCARDPCI, a prospective multicentre cohort study including 3,417 consecutive patients after PCI, was conducted at seven high-volume referral PCI centres in two Nordic countries. Clinical data were collected from patients' medical records and national quality registries. Patient-reported outcome measures were registered 2 months (T1), 6 months (T2), and 12 months (T3) after discharge. Covariate-adjusted logistic regression yielded adjusted odds ratios (aORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). RESULTS At discharge, 38% of participants had been informed about potential ADRs. For these patients, the incidence of self-reported ADRs was significantly lower at T1 (aOR 0.61, 95% CI 0.50-0.74; p<0.001), T2 (aOR 0.60, 95% CI 0.49-0.74; p<0.001), and T3 (aOR 0.57, 95% CI 0.46-0.71; p<0.001). Those who were not informed reported higher levels of concern about prescribed pharmacotherapy at all measuring points (p<0.001 for all comparisons). Those living alone (aOR 0.73, 95% CI 0.57-0.92; p=0.008), who were female (aOR 0.57, 95% CI 0.44-0.72; p<0.001), and with three or more versus no comorbidities (aOR 0.61, 95% CI 0.44-0.84; p=0.002) were less likely to receive information. CONCLUSION A substantial proportion of patients were not informed about potential ADRs from prescribed pharmacotherapy after PCI. Patients informed about ADRs had lower incidences of self-reported ADRs and fewer concerns about prescribed pharmacotherapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Few patients achieve full control of their coronary artery disease (CAD) risk factors. Follow-up, such as cardiac rehabilitation, is important to increase adherence to lifestyle changes and treatment, to improve the patient's risk profile, and to treat established complications of CAD clinical events. However, the type of follow-up patients receive varies. Therefore, the aim of this research note was to describe and compare patients' self-reported use of health services, the type of follow-up patients reported to prefer, and the type of information patients reported to be important, in two countries with different follow-up practices after PCI. RESULTS We included 3417 patients in Norway and Denmark, countries with different follow-up strategies after PCI. The results showed large differences between the countries regarding health services used. In Denmark the most frequently used health services were consultations at outpatient clinics followed by visits to the general practitioner and visits to the fitness centre, whereas in Norway visits to the general practitioner were most common, followed by rehospitalisation and no follow-up used. However, patients found the same type of follow-up and information important in both countries. Patients' perceived need for follow-up and information decreased over time, suggesting a need for early follow-up when the patients are motivated. TRIAL REGISTRATION NCT03810612 (18/01/2019).

Abstract
BACKGROUND Little is known about self-reported health in octogenarians (≥80 years) and nonagenarians (≥90 years) following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), including characteristics of different health outcomes. This study aimed to phenotype latent health profiles of self-reported health in older adults 2 months post-PCI. METHODS A prospective, multicentre, real-world study (CONCARDPCI) of 270 octogenarians and nonagenarians was performed with five validated and standardised measures of self-reported health at 2 months post-PCI. Latent profile analysis was used to identify health profiles, and multinomial logistic regression analyses were used to investigate the associations between patient characteristics and health profiles. RESULTS Three latent health profiles were identified: The Poor health profile included 29%, the Moderate health profile included 39%, and the Good health profile included 32% of the participants. Older adults who were frail (OR 2.50, 95% CI 1.17-5.33), had a low exercise level (OR 0.49, 95% CI 0.39-0.95), and low alcohol intake (OR 0.61, 95% CI 0.39-0.95) were more likely to belong to the Poor health profile relative to the Good health profile. Furthermore, older age (OR 1.19, 95% CI 1.03-1.37) and lower exercise level (OR 0.64, 95% CI 0.43-0.97) were associated with belonging to the Moderate health profile relative to the Good health profile. CONCLUSION Two months after PCI, most participants displayed having Moderate to Good health profiles. Those with a Poor health profile were more likely to be frail and less active. These findings highlight that follow-up care has to be patient-centred and tailored to improve the health status of older adults.

Abstract
AIM To compare the long-term counselling quality among the patients visited and not visited at cardiac nurse after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and related factors one to two years after PCI. DESIGN An explorative, register-based cross-sectional study. METHODOLOGY METHODS A sample was drawn from the one university hospital's procedure register consisted of the patients undergone a PCI (n = 977). The data was collected by Counselling Quality Instrument (CQI) questionnaire by mail, and analysed by basic and multivariate methods. FINDINGS RESULTS Of the respondents (n = 459), less than half the patients (48.4%) visited at cardiac nurse one to two years after PCI as instructed in the national current care guidelines. Patients, who visited the nurse (n = 194) had higher satisfaction for counselling than the ones not visited (n = 70). Nevertheless, patients, especially those who had no dyslipidemia, had Unstable Angina Pectoris or Non-ST-elevated myocardial infarction or were out of the workforce, were unsatisfied with counselling, and needed more social support, patient-centred counselling and goal orientating implementation from the cardiac nurse. A half of the PCI patients (51.6%) did not visit the cardiac nurse at the primary health care. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION Cardiac nurses assisted the members of research group by assessing the questionnaire prior sending it to the patients and patients contributed by completing the questionnaires. We thank both parties for their contribution. IMPLICATION FOR PROFESSION AND PATIENT CARE This study demonstrated, that patients out of the workforce and having emergency PCI are in need for better quality counselling, concentrating on social support, patient-centred counselling and goal orientating implementation from the cardiac nurse. Those patients, who did not visit the cardiac nurse, should be offered easier access to cardiac nurse for example, by novel digital solutions.

Abstract
Aims Fundamental roadblocks, such as non-use and low electronic health (eHealth) literacy, prevent the implementation of eHealth resources. The aims were to study internet usage for health information and eHealth literacy in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Further, we aimed to evaluate temporal changes and determine whether the use of the internet to find health information and eHealth literacy were associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) risk factors at the index admission and 12-month follow-up of the same population. Methods and results This prospective longitudinal study recruited 2924 adult patients with internet access treated by PCI in two Nordic countries. Assessments were made at baseline and 12-month follow-up, including a de novo question Have you used the internet to find information about health?, the eHealth literacy scale, and assessment of clinical, behavioural, and psychological CAD risk factors. Regression analyses were used. Patients' use of the internet for health information and their eHealth literacy were moderate at baseline but significantly lower at 12-month follow-up. Non-users of the internet for health information were more often smokers and had a lower burden of anxiety symptoms. Lower eHealth literacy was associated with a higher burden of depression symptoms at baseline and lower physical activity and being a smoker at baseline and at 12-month follow-up. Conclusion Non-use of the internet and lower eHealth literacy need to be considered when implementing eHealth resources, as they are associated with behavioural and psychological CAD risk factors. eHealth should therefore be designed and implemented with high-risk CAD patients in mind. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine patient perceptions of generic medicines 2 and 6 months after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and to determine whether these perceptions moderate medication adherence. DESIGN Prospective multicentre cohort study with repeated measures of perceptions of generic medicines and medication adherence. SETTING The CONCARDPCI study conducted at seven large referral PCI centres in Norway and Denmark between June 2017 and May 2020. PARTICIPANTS A total of 3417 adults (78% men), using both generic and brand name medicines, with a mean age of 66 years (SD 11) who underwent PCI were followed up 2 and 6 months after discharge from hospital. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Perceptions of generic medicines were the main outcome. The secondary outcome was medication adherence. RESULTS Perceptions of generic medicines were significantly more negative at 2 than at 6 months (1.10, 95% CI 0.41 to 1.79, p=0.002). Female sex (-4.21, 95% CI -6.75 to -1.71, p=0.001), older age (-0.12, 95% CI -0.23 to -0.02, p=0.020), lower education level (overall p<0.001), ethnicity (overall p=0.002), Norwegian nationality (10.27, 95% CI 8.19 to 12.40, p<0.001) and reduced self-reported health status (0.19, 95% CI 0.09 to 0.41, p=0.003) were significantly associated with negative perceptions of generic medicines. There was no evidence to suggest that perceptions of generic medicines moderate the association between sociodemographic and clinical variables and medication adherence (p≥0.077 for all covariates). Moreover, self-reported medication adherence was high, with 99% scoring at or above the Medication Adherence Report Scale midpoint at both time points. There were no substantial correlations between negative perceptions of generic medicines and medication non-adherence at 2 months (r=0.041, 95% CI 0.002 to 0.081, p=0.037) or 6 months (r=0.038, 95% CI -0.005 to 0.081, p=0.057). CONCLUSIONS Mistrust and uncertainty about the safety and efficacy of generic medicines remains in a sizeable proportion of patients after PCI. This applies especially to those of lower socioeconomic status, older age, female sex, immigrants and those with poorer mental health. However, this study demonstrated a shift towards more positive perceptions of generic medicines in the longer term.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Patients’ lack of correct understanding of cardiovascular disease and interventional therapy is often accompanied by varying degrees of fear, depression and anxiety. Negative emotion will affect the hemodynamic fluctuation of patients undergoing interventional surgery, which is not conducive to the smooth and safe operation of interventional surgery. Therefore, it is very important to implement effective nursing intervention in the operating room.
AIM To explore the intervention effect of motivational psychological nursing combined with programmed nursing on compliance and bad mood of patients in interventional operating room.
METHODS A total of 98 patients in the interventional operating room of our hospital from October 2019 to March 2021 were randomly divided into study group (n = 49) and control group (n = 49). The control group took routine nursing. However, the study group took motivational psychological nursing combined with procedural nursing on the basis of the control group. Statistics were made on rehabilitation compliance, Positive and Negative Affect Schedule of bad mood, Simplified Coping Styles Questionnaire score of coping style and satisfaction of intervention between the two groups before and after intervention.
RESULTS The rehabilitation compliance of the study group (95.92%) was higher than that of the control group (81.63%) (P < 0.05). After intervention, the scores of upset, fear, irritability, tension and fear in the study group were respectively, which were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After intervention, the score of positive coping in the study group was higher than that in the control group. However, the score of negative coping in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The intervention satisfaction of the study group (93.88%) was higher than that of the control group (79.59%) (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION The intervention of motivational psychological nursing combined with procedural nursing can improve the rehabilitation compliance, and alleviate the bad mood. In addition, it can change their coping style to the disease, and the patients are more satisfied with the nursing work.

Abstract
In the setting of established coronary artery disease (CAD), lower health literacy is associated with poor outcomes. The aim of this study was to determine whether health literacy at the index admission was associated with established CAD risk factors and with changes in CAD risk factors from baseline until 6 months after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). A multicenter cohort study recruited 3,417 patients aged ≥18 years who were treated with PCI. Assessments were made at the index admission for PCI and at 6-month follow-up, including 4 of the 9 scales from the Health Literacy Questionnaire, an assessment of behavioral risk factors and psychologic risk factors for CAD. In this large study, key aspects of health literacy were associated with behavioral and psychologic risk factors for CAD. For each 1-unit higher score on the health literacy scales, weekly physical activity was 12 to 20 intensity-adjusted minutes higher, and the odds of being a nonsmoker were 24% to 72% higher. The risk factors for CAD improved from baseline to 6-month follow-up, although most were not significantly associated with health literacy. Still, patients with lower health literacy scores were more likely to report a greater reduction in depression symptoms from baseline to 6-month follow-up. In conclusion, the study provides evidence that several aspects of health literacy are associated with risk factors for CAD. These results serve as a reminder to healthcare teams to consider health literacy challenges in connection with secondary prevention care.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Coronary Artery Disease is an ischemic or necrotic heart disease caused by myocardial hypoxia caused by coronary artery stenosis or occlusion. The main symptoms are heart failure and recurrent angina pectoris. Continuous nursing refers to the nursing mode from in-hospital nursing to out-of-hospital nursing, including guiding patients' follow-up treatment and lifestyle, which can effectively improve the quality of life in patients with Coronary Artery Disease and reduce the number of angina attacks. The study implemented in this program will systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of continuous nursing intervention on an angina attack and quality of life in Coronary Artery Disease, and provide evidence-based basis for clinical application of continuous nursing intervention in Coronary Artery Disease. METHOD The 2 researchers search the databases of China Knowledge Network, VP Information Chinese Journal Service Platform, PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library and Web of Science. From the establishment of the database in December 2020, all the randomized controlled trials on continuous nursing intervention for Coronary Artery Disease are collected. The relevant data are extracted and the quality is evaluated. meta-analysis is performed on the included literature using Stata15.0 software. RESULT In this study, the efficacy and safety of continuous nursing intervention on Coronary Artery Disease are evaluated by Seattle angina questionnaire and other indicators. CONCLUSION This study will provide reliable evidence for the clinical application of nursing intervention in Coronary Artery Disease. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Private information from individuals will not be published. This systematic review also does not involve endangering participant rights. Abstract
BACKGROUND Web-based technology has recently become an important source for sharing health information with patients after an acute cardiac event. Therefore, consideration of patients' perceived electronic health (eHealth) literacy skills is crucial for improving the delivery of patient-centered health information. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to translate and adapt the eHealth Literacy Scale (eHEALS) to conditions in Norway, and to determine its psychometric properties. More specifically, we set out to determine the reliability (internal consistency, test-retest) and construct validity (structural validity, hypotheses testing, and cross-cultural validity) of the eHEALS in self-report format administered to patients after percutaneous coronary intervention. METHODS The original English version of the eHEALS was translated into Norwegian following a widely used cross-cultural adaptation process. Internal consistency was calculated using Cronbach α. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to assess the test-retest reliability. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed for a priori-specified 1-, 2-, and 3-factor models. Demographic, health-related internet use, health literacy, and health status information was collected to examine correlations with eHEALS scores. RESULTS A total of 1695 patients after percutaneous coronary intervention were included in the validation analysis. The mean age was 66 years, and the majority of patients were men (1313, 77.46%). Cronbach α for the eHEALS was >.99. The corresponding Cronbach α for the 2-week retest was .94. The test-retest ICC for eHEALS was 0.605 (95% CI 0.419-0.743, P<.001). The CFA showed a modest model fit for the 1- and 2-factor models (root mean square error of approximation>0.06). After modifications in the 3-factor model, all of the goodness-of-fit indices indicated a good fit. There was a weak correlation with age (r=-0.206). Between-groups analysis of variance showed a difference according to educational groups and the eHEALS score, with a mean difference ranging from 2.24 (P=.002) to 4.61 (P<.001), and a higher eHEALS score was found for patients who were employed compared to those who were retired (mean difference 2.31, P<.001). The eHEALS score was also higher among patients who reported using the internet to find health information (95% CI -21.40 to -17.21, P<.001), and there was a moderate correlation with the patients' perceived usefulness (r=0.587) and importance (r=0.574) of using the internet for health information. There were also moderate correlations identified between the eHEALS score and the health literacy domains appraisal of health information (r=0.380) and ability to find good health information (r=0.561). Weak correlations with the mental health composite score (r=0.116) and physical health composite score (r=0.116) were identified. CONCLUSIONS This study provides new information on the psychometric properties of the eHEALS for patients after percutaneous coronary intervention, suggesting a multidimensional rather than unidimensional construct. However, the study also indicated a redundancy of items, indicating the need for further validation studies. Abstract
AIMS Complexity of care in patients with coronary artery disease is increasing, due to ageing, improved treatment, and more specialised care. Patients receive care from various healthcare providers in many settings. Still, few studies have evaluated continuity of care across primary and secondary care levels for patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This study aimed to determine multifaceted aspects of continuity of care and associations with socio-demographic characteristics, self-reported health, clinical characteristics and follow-up services for patients after PCI. METHODS This multi-centre prospective cohort study collected data at baseline and two-month follow-up from medical records, national registries and patient self-reports. Univariable and hierarchical regressions were performed using the Heart Continuity of Care Questionnaire total score as the dependent variable. RESULTS In total, 1695 patients were included at baseline, and 1318 (78%) completed the two-month follow-up. Patients stated not being adequately informed about lifestyle changes, medication and follow-up care. Those experiencing poorer health status after PCI scored significantly worse on continuity of care. Patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction scored significantly better on informational and management continuity than those with other cardiac diagnoses. The regression analyses showed significantly better continuity (P ≤ 0.034) in patients who were male, received written information from hospital, were transferred to another hospital before discharge, received follow-up from their general practitioner or had sufficient consultation time after discharge from hospital. CONCLUSION Risk factors for sub-optimal continuity were identified. These factors are important to patients, healthcare providers and policy makers. Action should be taken to educate patients, reconcile discharge plans and organise post-discharge services. Designing pathways with an interdisciplinary approach and shared responsibility between healthcare settings is recommended.
