Delivering an infection control link nurse programme: an exploration of the experiences of the link nurses

This is the third in a series of articles describing a research study that examined the efficacy of an infection control link nurse programme, which had an educational programme based upon adult learning theory, delivered using an action research approach. This article describes the results of a qualitative study that explored the experiences of the link nurses who participated in the programme. Implications for practice are discussed.

Delivering an infection control link nurse programme: implementation and evaluation of a flexible teaching approach

Infection control nurses work to ensure practice is evidence-based, thereby minimising infection risks. There is, however, a gap between theory and practice in infection control at clinical level. Link nurse groups have been used in an attempt to ensure practice is evidence-based.

This article describes a research study that examined the efficacy of an infection control link nurse programme, which had an educational programme based upon adult learning theory, delivered using an action-research approach. Results of the study are described in subsequent articles.
