Abstract
Substantial efforts have been made to design and investigate new approaches for high-performance nonlinear optical (NLO) materials. Herein, we report polaron formation in conducting polymers as a new approach to designing materials with a large NLO response. A comparative study of polypyrrole and polypyrrole-based polaron (nPy+ where n = 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9) is carried out for optoelectronic and NLO properties. The studied polarons (PPy+) show excellent electronic properties and have reduced ionization potential (IP) as compared to neutral PPy, and a monotonic decrease is observed with increased chain lengths (1Py to 9Py). Interesting trends of global reactivity descriptors can be seen; the softness (S) increases with an increase in the chain length of PPy, while the hardness (η) decreases in the same fashion. The EH-L gaps for the PPy+ polaronic state are significantly lower than their corresponding neutral PPy. In the polaronic model (PPy+), radicals decisively reduce the crucial excitation energy, reminiscent of excess electrons (alkali metals). The performed TDOS spectral analysis further justifies the better conductive and electronic properties of polarons (PPy+) with increased chain lengths (conjugation). The static hyperpolarizability response (βo) is recorded up to 1.3 × 102 au for 9Py, while for polaron 9Py+, it has increased up to 3.2 × 104 au. The static hyperpolarizability of the 9Py+ polaronic state is 246 times higher than that of the corresponding neutral analogue, 9Py. It is observed that the values of βo obtained at the CAM-B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) level of theory are comparable to those obtained at the LC-BLYP and ωB97XD functionals. The βvec values show a strong correlation with the total hyperpolarizability (βo). Furthermore, the calculated second harmonic generation (SHG) values are up to 4.0 × 106 au at 532 nm, whereas electro-optic Pockel's effect (EOPE) is much more pronounced at the smaller dispersion frequency (1064 nm). The TD-DFT study reveal the red-shifted absorption maxima (λmax) with an increased length of PPy+. A significant reduction in excitation energy (ΔE) is observed with increased length of PPy and PPy+, which also favors the improved NLO response. Hence, the studied thermally conducting polypyrrole-based polarons (PPy+) are new entries into NLO materials with better electrical and optical features.

Abstract
CONTEXT This work focuses on the study of six molecules composed of the TetraAmineLithium (TALi+) and TetraAmineSodium (TANa+) structures linked with the anions H-, Li- and Na-. The NLO results obtained by these calculations showed significant values of static first hyperpolarizabilities (βtot) ranging from 8.74 * 10-30 to 691.99 * 10-30 esu. The two molecules TALi-Li and TALi-Na gave the highest values of static βtot equal to 563.20 and 691.99 * 10-30 esu respectively and static second hyperpolarizabilities (γav) of 680.02 and 779.05 * 10-35 esu. The highest dynamic first hyperpolarizabilities (β||) values are around 1474080.00 * 10-30 esu and 6,145,080.00 * 10-30 esu at 720 nm lasers and which are attributed to the two molecules TANa-Li and TANa-Na respectively. Four molecules have push-pull behavior where the anions are donor groups, the Li+-NH3 and Na+-NH3 groups are acceptor groups and a bridge composed by the three remaining NH3 ligands. The maximum wavelengths (λmax) in vacuum and in the presence of solvents for all molecules are in the range 240 to 870 nm. METHOD The software used in this study is Gaussian 16. The optimizations of the molecules were calculated by B3LYP-D3/6-31 + + G(d,p). The static first hyperpolarizability (βtot) was calculated by different functionals: CAM-B3LYP, LC-wPBE, LC-BLYP, M11, wB97X, HSEh1PBE and M06-2X and the MP2 method, the basis-set used is 6-31 + + G(d,p). Other calculations of static βtot were carried out by the CAM-B3LYP functional combined with several basis-sets: 6-31G(d,p), 6-31 + + G(d,p), cc-pVDZ, AUG-cc- pVDZ, 6-311G(d,p), 6-311 + + G(d,p), cc-pVTZ and AUG-cc-pVTZ. The calculations of the first (β||) and second (γ||) hyperpolarizabilities in second harmonic generation (SHG) were calculated by CAM-B3LYP/6-31 + + G(d,p). The delocalization energies (E(2)) were determined by the NBO approach and calculated by the same functional and basis-set cited before. The solvation Gibbs energies (ΔGsolv) were calculated using the implicit SMD model. Maximum wavelengths (λmax) and oscillator strengths ([Formula: see text]) were calculated by TD-CAM-B3LYP/6-31 + + G(d,p) in the presence of the implicit CPCM model.

Abstract
Coordination complexes are interesting materials for nonlinear optical (NLO) applications due to their large hyperpolarizability values. Moreover, switchable NLO response is also important in coordination complexes. Herein, we report two state ON-OFF switchable NLO contrast of coordination complexes of Fe and Co containing isomeric ligands. The optical, UV-visible, and electronic properties besides the "ON-OFF" switching effect are calculated using the CAM-B3LYP/6-31+G (d) method. The NLO responses of ligand-metal isomers are qualitatively evaluated through variation in charge transference (CT) style through TD-DFT. The higher β o in each isomeric pair is strongly dependent on the HOMO-LUMO gap. The isomer 4b with lowest HOMO-LUMO gap shows the highest NLO response. The charge transfer pattern in these complexes results in variation of their β o values. The notable β o contrast of 21.15 in isomeric pairs 3a and 3b makes these complexes a favorable material for genuine NLO switches. Hence, the outcome of the current investigation reveals that these ligand-metal isomeric complexes exhibit a two-state switch "ON-OFF" effect.

Abstract
In ferromagnetic semiconductors, the coupling of magnetic ordering with semiconductor character accelerates the quantum computing. The structural stability, Curie temperature (Tc), spin polarization, half magnetic ferromagnetism and transport properties of ZnX2Se4 (X = Ti, V, Cr) chalcogenides for spintronic and thermoelectric applications are studied here by density functional theory (DFT). The highest value of Tc is perceived for ZnCr2Se4. The band structures in both spin channels confirmed half metallic ferromagnetic behavior, which is approved by integer magnetic moments (2, 3, 4) μB of Ti, V and Cr based spinels. The HM behavior is further measured by computing crystal field energy ΔEcrystal, exchange energies Δx(d), Δx (pd) and exchange constants (Noα and Noβ). The thermoelectric properties are addressed in terms of electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, Seebeck coefficient and power factor in within a temperature range 0-400 K. The positive Seebeck coefficient shows p-type character and the PF is highest for ZnTi2Se4 (1.2 × 1011 W/mK2) among studied compounds.

Second-order NLO properties and two-state switching effects of transition metal redox complexes of iron and cobalt: A DFT study. J Mol Graph Model 2021; 107:107975. Abstract
Designing switchable materials with large contrasts of nonlinear optical properties has been the focus of research in recent decades because of their widespread applications. Redox-active metal complexes due to charge transfer excitation are suitable to produce switchable nonlinear optical (NLO) material. In this regard, we present here the redox switchable NLO response of active metal complexes of iron and cobalt. The geometric, electronic, molecular absorption, nonlinear optical properties, and switch "ON/OFF" style of these metal complexes are studied at the CAM-B3LYP/6-31 + G(d) level of theory. NLO responses of these redox metal complexes are described in terms of change in the charge transfer (CT) patterns by time dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT). The highest βo value of 301534 × 10-30 esu is noticed in [Fe-ethynyl-ZnP]1+ complex, because of obvious charge transfer transition from metal to ligand i.e meatal-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) in redox metal complex. In each redox metal isomeric pair, the greater hyperpolarizability value of individual isomer is quite consistent with its smaller energy gap (H-Lgap) between highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) to the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO), low crucial excitation energy, and bathochromic shift of λmax. The remarkable βo contrasts of these isomeric redox complexes illustrate that they can be appropriate for effective redox-triggered NLO switches. Thus, the results reveal that these redox pair complexes show two-state switching "ON/OFF" effect.

Abstract
This study is based on the valuation of a few model molecules. The objective of this research is focused on linear optical (LO) and nonlinear optical (NLO) enhancement of five organometallic molecules based on different metallocenes. These molecules were subjected to several calculations by different long-range functionals CAM-B3LYP, LC-BLYP, LC-wPBE, wB97X, M11, and the following three Minnesota functionals: M06-2X and M08-HX in comparison with the MP2 approach. Hence, the CAM-B3LYP functional gave the closest NLO values to the MP2 method. Second, molecule 3A based on nickelocene recorded the highest static (βtot) value which is 76.46 Χ 10-30 esu and 4803.4 Χ 10-30 esu under the laser wavelength λ = 532 nm. Third, intramolecular charge transfers (ICTs) of the molecules studied are all directed in both directions (donor to acceptor and vice versa). Finally, the specific solvent for molecules 2A and 3A is acetonitrile, and the maximum wavelengths obtained for the isolated or solvated molecule are all located in the near UV; the corresponding interval is between 250 and 395 nm.
