Abstract
Electrochemical reduction-oxidation processes with the aid of cathode catalysts are promising technologies for the decomposition of organic compounds. High-efficiency and low-cost catalysts for electrochemical reductive dechlorination and two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) are vital to the overall degradation of chlorinated organic compounds. This study reports electrochemical dechlorination using a single-atom Co-loaded sulfide graphene (Co-SG) catalyst via atomic hydrogen generated from the electrochemical reduction of H2O and electrolysis of hydrogen. The Co-SG electrocatalyst exhibited a remarkable performance for H2O2 synthesis with a half-wave potential of 0.70 V (vs RHE) and selectivity over 90%. The high electrochemical performance was achieved for bifunctional electrocatalysis with regard to the smaller overpotentials, faster kinetics, and higher cycling stability compared to the noble metal-based electrocatalysts. In this study, 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid was well degraded and the TOC concentration was effectively reduced. This work introduces the preparation of a new active site for high-performance single-atom catalysts and also promotes its application in the electrochemical degradation of chlorinated organic pollutants.

Abstract
The cobalt complexes of meso-aryl substituted porphycenes were synthesized and characterized. The reduction potentials of the complexes were shifted to the positive side depending on the strength of the electron-withdrawing properties of the meso-substituents, while the optical properties, such as the absorption spectra of these complexes, were similar. This suggests that the energy levels of the molecular orbitals of the complexes were changed by the meso-substituents while the gaps of the orbitals were not significantly changed. The one-electron reduction of the complex did not afford the Co(I) species, but the ligand-reduced radical anion, which was characterized by electrospectrochemistry. The generated ligand-reduced species reacted with alkyl halides to form the Co(III)-alkyl complex. As a result, the reduction potential of the electrolytic reaction could be directly controlled by the substituents of the porphycene. The catalytic reaction with trichloromethylbenzene was also performed and it was found that the ratio of the obtained products was changed by the reduction potentials of the catalyst, [Formula: see text]. the cobalt porphycenes.

Abstract
The dihydrogenated porphycene cobalt(ii) complex was synthesized and electrochemical experiments were carried out. The one-electron reduction of the complex proceeded at the central metal to afford the Co(i) species; in contrast, for the non-hydrogenated porphycene cobalt(ii) complex, the one-electron reduction gave the ligand reduced radical anion species. The reactivity of the one-electron reduced species with alkyl halides showed clear differences between the complexes. Hydrogenation of the β-position of the porphycene makes it possible to generate a central cobalt reduced species possessing a higher reactivity than the ligand reduced radical anion species.

Abstract
Two iron porphyrins, ( TPP ) FeCl and ( OEP ) FeCl , where TPP and OEP are the dianions of tetraphenylporphyrin and octaethylporphyrin, respectively, were utilized as catalysts for the electroreductive dechlorination of α-hexachlorocyclohexane (α- HCH ) which was monitored by electrochemistry, in situ UV-visible spectroelectrochemistry and controlled potential electrolysis in N , N ′-dimethylformamide. GC-MS analysis of the α- HCH degradation products revealed the stepwise formation of pentachlorocyclohexene and tetrachlorocyclohexadiene as intermediates, prior to generation of the final dechlorination products which consisted of an isomeric mixture of trichlorobenzenes. Based on identification of the intermediates and final products in the reaction, an overall dechlorination mechanism of α-hexachlorocyclohexane is proposed.

Abstract
Iron(II) 2,3- and 3,4-tetrapyridinoporphyrazine complexes (2,3-PyD and 3,4-PyD) were synthesized and characterized as to their electrochemistry, UV-visible spectroelectrochemistry and catalytic properties towards the reductive dechlorination of 1,1-bis(4-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trichloroethane (p,p′-DDT) in pyridine, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), N,N′-dimethylacetamide (DMA) and N,N′-dimethylformamide (DMF). These properties were compared with those of the unsubstituted iron(II) phthalocyanine ((Pc) Fe ). Electrochemistry indicates that there are up to three reductions and one oxidation in the three investigated derivatives. The easiest reduction takes place for 3,4-PyD while the most difficult one occurs for (Pc) Fe in all of the solvents investigated. The first reduction is metal-centered corresponding to the formation of [P(-2)Fe(I)]- while the second and third reductions are ring-centered leading stepwise to the generation of [P(-3)Fe(I)]2- · and [P(-4)Fe(I)]3- , where P = phthalocyanine or tetrapyridinoporphyrazine rings. Aggregation exists in the solutions of all three iron complexes and its extent depends upon the nature and concentration of the iron compounds and the binding property of each solvent. The order of the extent of aggregation for the three iron derivatives is 3,4-PyD > 2,3-PyD > (Pc) Fe . Stronger binding solvents such as pyridine and DMSO do not favor the aggregation. The singly and doubly reduced species of investigated complexes, [P(-2)Fe(I)]- and [P(-3)Fe(I)]2- · , are active in DDT reductive dechlorination, the latter of which has better catalytic performance. As a result, three products, 1,1-bis(4-chlorophenyl)-2,2-dichloroethane (p,p′-DDD), 1,1-bis(4-chlorophenyl)-2,2-dichloroethylene (p,p′-DDE), and 1,1-bis(4-chlorophenyl)-2-chloroethylene (p,p′-DDMU), were obtained after the dechlorination of DDT catalyzed by each iron complex. The increasing order of catalytic performance is 3,4-PyD < 2,3-PyD < (Pc) Fe in pyridine, which is superior to DMSO and DMA for the DDT dechlorination reaction. An overall electrocatalytic mechanism is proposed for DDT reductive degradation based on the electrochemical and UV-visible spectroelectrochemical results.
