Abstract
In children, adolescents, and young adults (CAYA), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is characterized by various age-related dissimilarities in tumor aggressiveness, prevailing pathologic subtypes, and imaging features, as well as potentially different treatment outcomes. Understanding the imaging spectrum of NHL in CAYA with particular attention to children and adolescents is critical for radiologists to support the clinical decision making by the treating physicians and other health care practitioners. The authors discuss the currently performed imaging modalities including radiography, US, CT, MRI, and PET in the diagnosis, staging, and assessment of the treatment response. Familiarity with diagnostic imaging challenges during image acquisition, processing, and interpretation is required when managing patients with NHL. The authors describe potentially problematic and life-threatening scenarios that require prompt management. Moreover, the authors address the unprecedented urge to understand the imaging patterns of possible treatment-related complications of the therapeutic agents used in NHL clinical trials and in practice. Abstract
OBJECTIVES The purpose of the present scoping review was to determine the contribution of ultrasound images in the diagnosis of inflammatory and obstructive diseases of the major salivary glands (MSGs). METHODS A search of studies of ultrasonographic assessments of human samples was performed in several electronic databases and grey literature up to July 2021. The extracted data were the examined MSG; the diagnostic value of ultrasound (sensibility, specificity, positive- and negative predictive value, accuracy); features of lesions, including number, echogenicity, echotexture, form, margins, size, posterior acoustic aspect, and location; and related clinical information, such as swelling, palpation, sensible to pain, salivation, lymph nodes, recurrence, duration, and causes. RESULTS After verifying the eligibility criteria, 90 articles focused on detecting inflammatory, and obstructive diseases of the MSG were gathered, with variable study designs and size samples. A wide variety of pathologies were assessed, including sialolitiasis (n = 45), acute sialadenitis (n = 30), chronic sialadenitis (n = 25), granulamatous diseases (n = 15), Kuttner's tumor (n = 11), juvenile recurrent parotitis (n = 9), abscess (n = 7), post-radiotherapy sialadenitis (n = 6), sialadenosis (n = 9), abscess (n = 7), IgG4-related disease sialadenitis (n = 5), HIV-sialadenitis (n = 4), obstructive sialadenitis (n = 3), iodinated contrast-induced sialadenitis (n = 2), and pneumoparotitis (n = 1). Most studies were case reports or series of cases. Few studies exhibited data about the accuracy of ultrasound in detecting MSG diseases. CONCLUSIONS The present scoping review concluded that ultrasound aspects of different MSG pathologies are similar but contribute to their differential diagnosis and can be considered as a valuable initial method for assessing the MSG of adults and children.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To provide a graded diagnosis of benign and malignant lesions in the parotid gland by conventional ultrasound, and thus to predict the probability of malignancy of the lesions. METHODS Retrospective analysis of conventional ultrasound images of 150 patients with parotid lesions by two observers. Parotid lesions were classified into seven patterns and then categorized into eight grades: Grade 0, unsatisfied illustration on ultrasound; Grade 1, normal parotid gland; Grade 2, definitively benign; Grade 3, probably benign; Grade 4, indeterminate; Grade 5, probably malignant; Grade 6, highly suggestive malignant and Grade 7, already had malignant diagnosis. Combined with the pathological results, the conventional ultrasound diagnostic grade of parotid lesions was evaluated for predicting the probability of malignancy. RESULTS There was excellent interobserver agreement of both readers for patterns and grades (K = 0.89 and 0.90, p < 0.01). The proportions of the malignancies in conventional ultrasound Grade 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 according to the two readers 0 and 0, 0 and 0, 8.7% and 8.8%, 54.2 and 50%, 100 and 100%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and area under ROC curve(AUC) were 64.0%, 91.2%, 0.809 and 64.0%, 89.6%, 0.802, respectively, using Grade 5 of the two readers as the best grade for diagnosing benign and malignant parotid lesions. CONCLUSION The conventional ultrasound diagnostic grade of parotid lesions can be used to evaluate the risk of malignancy and will be helpful to improve the imaging diagnosis and clinical treatment.

Abstract
Disorders affecting parotid gland represent a heterogeneous group comprising congenital, inflammatory and neoplastic diseases which show a focal or diffuse pattern of appearance. The differentiation of neoplastic from non-neoplastic conditions of parotid glands is pivotal for the diagnostic imaging. Frequently there is evidence of overlapping between the clinical and the imaging appearance of the various pathologies. The parotid gland is also often object of study with the combination of different techniques [ultrasound-computed tomography-magnetic resonance imaging (US-CT-MRI), ex.]. Compared to other dominant methods of medical imaging, US has several advantages providing images in real-time at lower cost, and without harmful use of ionizing radiation and of contrast enhancement. B-mode US, and the microvascular pattern color Doppler are usually used as first step evaluation of parotid lesions. Elastography and contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) has opened further possible perspectives to improve the differentiation between benign and malignant parotid lesions. The characterization of the parotid tumors plays a crucial role for their treatment planning and for the prediction of possible surgical complications. We present, here an updated review of the most recurrent pathologies of parotid gland focusing on the diagnostic power of multiparametric US including CEUS and ultrasound elastography (USE); limitations, advantages and the main key-points will be presented.
