Abstract
The past decades have witnessed tremendous expansion in utilization of plant-derived medicines as resveratrol (RES) in treating several diseases like idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). RES can exhibit its role in treating IPF via its outstanding antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. The goal of this work was to formulate RES-loaded spray-dried composite microparticles (SDCMs) suitable for pulmonary delivery via dry powder inhaler (DPI). They were prepared by spray drying of a previously prepared RES-loaded bovine serum albumin nanoparticles (BSA NPs) dispersion using different carriers. RES-loaded BSA NPs, prepared by the desolvation technique, acquired suitable particle size of 177.67±0.95 nm and entrapment efficiency of 98.7±0.35% with perfectly uniform size distribution and high stability. Considering the attributes of the pulmonary route, NPs were co-spray dried with compatible carriers viz. mannitol, dextran, trehalose, leucine, glycine, aspartic acid, and glutamic acid to fabricate SDCMs. All formulations showed suitable mass median aerodynamic diameter less than 5 µm; that is suitable for deep lung deposition. However, the best aerosolization behavior was attained from using leucine with fine particle fraction (FPF) of 75.74%, followed by glycine with FPF of 54.7%. Finally, a pharmacodynamic study was conducted on bleomycin-induced mice, and it strongly revealed the role of the optimized formulations in alleviating PF through suppressing the levels of hydroxyproline, tumor necrosis factor-α and matrix metalloproteinase-9 with obvious improvements in the treated lung histopathology. These findings indicate that in addition to leucine, the glycine amino acid, which is not commonly used yet, is very promising in the formulation of DPIs.

Abstract
Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu, in Chinese) is the principal drug in Xiaochaihu granules (XGs) that is a famous Chinese medicine preparation in China. Since previous analytical methods have not focused on the multiactive saikosaponins of Chaihu, it is difficult to effectively control the quality of XG on the market. In this manuscript, the simultaneous determination of 7 saikosaponins (saikosaponins C, I, H, A, B2, G, and B1) in XG by HPLC with charged aerosol detection (CAD) and confirmation by LC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS were described. The saikosaponins were purified on an SPE cartridge and determined on a Waters CORTECTS C18 column (4.6 mm × 150 mm, 2.7 μm) by gradient elution using 0.01% acetic acid aqueous solution and acetonitrile. The results showed good linearity with the r 2 values higher than 0.998 for all analytes. The average recoveries at three different concentration levels ranged from 80% to 109% and the intraday and interday precision (relative standard deviations, RSD%) were in the range of 1.0%∼1.9% and 1.4%∼2.1%, respectively. The established HPLC-CAD method was subsequently applied to 15 batches of XG to investigate the batch-to-batch consistency and controllability. The proposed method could potentially be used for the quality control of XG and also be helpful in the quality evaluation of Chaihu and its related preparations.

Abstract
A facile supercritical fluid chromatography method is proposed to analyse 15 co-formulated binary anti-hypertensive drug combinations using a customized elution procedure. The effect of mobile phase composition, column back pressure and temperature was suitably optimized for adequate retention, analyte response and resolution. The chromatographic separation of the different drug combinations was performed on a DCPak poly(4-vinylpyridine) column (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) at 125-bar pressure and 40°C using a photodiode array detector. A linear gradient of CO2 and 0.1% formic acid in methanol provided the best elution conditions for all drug combinations. Baseline separation of the drugs was possible with resolution factor Rs ranging from 1.42 to 12.58. The method was validated for specificity, sensitivity, accuracy and precision, recovery and robustness. The limit of detection and limit of quantitation for aliskiren, amlodipine, atenolol, candesartan, hydrochlorothiazide, lisinopril, losartan, metoprolol, olmesartan, telmisartan and valsartan were in the range of 0.26-2.56 and 0.77-7.75 μg/mL, respectively. The thermodynamic study revealed that interactions of the drugs with the stationary phase were spontaneous as evident from the negative free energy values, and the separation process was enthalpy driven. The developed method was successfully employed to analyse these drugs in their co-formulated tablet formulations.

Abstract
Introduction:
Saxagliptin hydrochloride is an oral hypoglycemic agent used for the treatment
of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Saxagliptin is unstable because it undergoes an intra-molecular cyclisation
reaction to form a cyclicamidine in both solution and solid states. In pharmaceutical development of
saxagliptin it is important to select the excipients which are compatible and help to minimize the formation
of cyclicamidine. In excipient compatibility study for saxagliptin it is essential to identify the
formation of cyclicamidine and other related substances.
Materials and Methods:
In the current work, the method for quantification of saxagliptin, cyclicamidine
and its related substances by high performance liquid chromatographic was developed and validated.
This method was used as screening technique for assessing the compatibility of saxagliptin with
some pharmaceutical excipients. These were evaluated by analyzing the pure saxagliptin and saxagliptin-
excipient in physical mixture, which were stored under different conditions at 40°C/75% Relative
Humidity (RH) for one month. The method was successfully validated as per ICH guidelines.
Results and Conclusion:
The results of compatibility study demonstrate the suitability of saxagliptin
with Methocel, Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Opadry Red, Opadry pink, Opadry white, and Opadry Pink.

Abstract
Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure is elevated to an extent where benefit is obtained from blood pressure lowering. The risk of complications is proportional to the level that blood pressure raises. Calcium channel blockers are a class of compounds used in the treatment of hypertension. The dihydropyridine (DHP) group, a subclass of the calcium channel blocker works almost exclusively on L-type calcium channels in the peripheral arterioles and reduce blood pressure by reducing total peripheral resistant. Long acting DHP is preferred because they are more convenient for patients and avoid the large fluctuations in plasma drug concentration which are associated with side effects. Amlodipine is the most distinct DHP and the most popular. The drug was patented in the year 1986 and its commercial sale began by 1990. The current article provides a state of art about the analytical and bioanalytical techniques available for the quantification of drug as a single entity and in combined pharmaceutical formulations between 1989 and 2019.
