The impact of perceived value and affection on Chinese residents' continuous use intention of mobile health science information: An empirical study

Introduction

Disseminating health science information via the internet has become an essential means for improving Chinese residents' health literacy, which has received constant attention from the Chinese government. Therefore, it is important to explore Chinese residents' perceived value and emotional response to mobile health science information for determining Chinese residents' satisfaction and use intention.

Methods

This study applied the cognition-affect-conation model to evaluate the perceived value, arousal, pleasure, trust, satisfaction, and continuous use intention. A mobile device was used to obtain health science information from 236 Chinese residents via an online survey and the data were analyzed using partial least squares (PLS)-structural equation modeling.

Results

The results showed that Chinese residents' perceived value of health science information obtained using the mobile device directly affect the degree of arousal (β = 0.412, P < 0.001), pleasure (β = 0.215, P < 0.01), and trust (β = 0.339, P < 0.001). The degree of arousal (β = 0.121, P < 0.01), pleasure (β = 0.188, P < 0.01), and trust (β = 0.619, P < 0.001) directly affected Chinese residents' satisfaction, which further affected their continuous use intention (β = 0.513, P < 0.001). Similarly, trust directly affected Chinese residents' continuous use intention (β = 0.323, P < 0.001). The degree of arousal directly affected their degree of pleasure (β = 0.304, P < 0.001), and pleasure also imposed a direct effect on trust (β = 0.293, P < 0.001).

Discussion

The result of this study provided an academic and practical reference to improve mobile health science popularization information. Affective changes have imposed an important effect on Chinese residents' continuous use intention. High-quality, diversified and frequent use of health science information can significantly increase residents' continuous use intention, improving their health literacy as a consequence.

Detection of Pneumonia Infection by Using Deep Learning on a Mobile Platform

Pneumonia is a disease that spreads quickly and poses a serious risk to the health and well-being of its victims. An accurate biomedical diagnosis of pneumonia necessitates the use of various diagnostic tools and the evaluation of various clinical features, all of which are hindered by the lack of available experts and tools. According to the research presented here, a mobile app that uses deep learning techniques to classify whether or not a patient has pneumonia is being developed. It was hoped that a mobile application prototype for detecting pneumonia using neural networks would be developed as part of this study. The use of a high-level tool such as Create ML makes this process easier and eliminates issues such as how many layers a neural network has, initializing the model parameters, or which algorithms to use. The model can now be accessed by anyone, anywhere, via a mobile application. The dataset of more than 5,000 real images was used to train an image classification model using Create ML, a tool with a graphical interface, and there was no need for specialized knowledge.

Knowledge and Behavior toward Venous Thromboembolism Event Prophylaxis and Treatment Protocols among Medical Interns in Riyadh

Objective

This study was aimed at evaluating the knowledge and behavior toward venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis among medical interns.

Methods

This is a questionnaire-based cross-sectional observational cohort study of medical interns that used a validated questionnaire. The questionnaire comprised of items that assessed behavior, knowledge, and self-assessment of VTE risk factors, diagnosis, and prophylaxis. The study was conducted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from October 2020 till September 2021.

Results

The respondents were 246 medical interns. The overall rate of correct responses to behavior items was 41.82%. The overall rate of correct responses to knowledge items was 47.35%. A total of 61.8% responded negatively to the use of VTE risk assessment guidelines (p < 0.0001). For the self-assessment of knowledge of VTE, more than 70% believed they did not have appropriate knowledge, were not prepared to establish the risk of VTE, and were not prepared to provide adequate prophylaxis for VTE (p < 0.0001). A high proportion of medical interns (83.3%, p < 0.0001) believed they needed further training on this topic.

Conclusion

Participants in this study showed poor knowledge and negative behavior regarding the assessment of risk factors, diagnosis, and prophylaxis of VTE. The majority of participants reported they needed training on this topic. These findings underscore the need for educational programs during undergraduate training and orientation of medical interns for VTE risk assessment, diagnosis, and prophylaxis at the beginning of their internship.

Detection of WBC, RBC, and Platelets in Blood Samples Using Deep Learning

A blood count is one of the most important diagnostic tools in medicine and one of the most common procedures. It can reveal important changes in the body and is commonly used as the first stage in the process of evaluating patients' health. Even though this is a common practice, delivering examinations in laboratories can be difficult due to the availability of expensive technology that requires frequent maintenance. This study is developing an alternative deep learning computational model capable of automatically detecting cells in images of blood samples. Using object detection libraries, it was possible to train a model that was focused on this task and capable of detecting cells in images with adequate accuracy. When the identification of cells in images of blood samples was taken into account in the best results obtained, it was possible to count white cells with an accuracy of one hundred percent, red cells with an accuracy of 89%, and platelets with an accuracy of 96%, which generated subsidies to develop the primary components of a blood count. The components that were supposed to classify the various types of white cells were not carried out due to the limits of the dataset provided. On the other hand, the study can be broadened to include further works that deal with this issue because it produced satisfactory results.

Evaluation of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of Health Practitioners towards Fertility Preservation in Cancer Patients in an Environmental Region of Saudi Arabia

Background

Cancer patients face multiple challenges, such as infertility caused by exposure to gonadotoxic agents and gonadal irradiation during cancer treatment. Little is known about the health practitioners' knowledge and practice regarding fertility preservation and its available options in Saudi Arabia. Thus, this study is designed to evaluate the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) towards fertility preservation in cancer patients among health practitioners in an environmental region in Saudi Arabia.

Methods

The cross-sectional study was carried out between September 2020 and January 2021. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed among health practitioners from a variety of specialties who work closely with cancer patients.

Results

Out of 100 participants, 90% need more knowledge about fertility preservation. The lack of fertility preservation clinics in the patient's area and its unaffordable expenses significantly influenced the health practitioners' attitude towards fertility preservation discussion with cancer patients. The results revealed that 92% of the participants agreed that the Saudi Ministry of Health should establish practice guidelines and provide fertility preservation services for cancer patients.

Conclusions

The present study showed that clinical practitioners' knowledge remains insufficient. Education of health practitioners and the establishment of practice guidelines and fertility preservation clinics for cancer patients are required.

Assessment of the Knowledge Level of First Aid among Medical Students in Work Environment

First aid is one of the most important life-saving skills a health provider specifically or anybody generally must have. It can be defined as the first treatment one provides at the site of the accident to the injured person until full medical treatment is available. In some emergency situations, simple first aid can make a life-or-death difference. Aim. This study is designed to evaluate the knowledge of first aid among medical students at KSAU-HS in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Methods. The cross-sectional study is conducted in KSAU-HS, Riyadh, about the knowledge of first aid among medical students. A self-administered structured questionnaire is used for the purpose of data collection. The main variables are as follows: to compare the knowledge of first aid between male and female medical students, among different years of study, and identify the percentage that have knowledge of first aid. Results. Out of 326 students, 10 students (3.1%) scored excellent, 99 (30.4%) good, 136 (41.7%) average, 75 (23%) poor, and 6 (1.8%) very poor. Conclusion. The level of knowledge improved with the advancement in years, but this was not sufficient, and more training should be given to all medical students on first aid.

Application of PET/CT in Preoperative Evaluation and Diagnosis of Gastric Cancer

The aim study to study the significance of pet clinical examination image technology for early gastric mucosal adenocarcinoma, improve the accuracy and accuracy of image examination results of gastric cancer, and provide important reference significance and value for early treatment. Study methods, we used the experimental method of clinical medicine to obtain some reference data through the intervention of different image examinations on experimental patients of different groups and stages, These data show that the use of PET-CT imaging can improve the one-year survival rate of patients and reduce the one-year recurrence rate. Lymphatic metastasis rate and hematogenous metastasis rate, so as to highlight the advantages of PET-CT imaging.

Machine Learning of ZnO Interaction with Immunoglobulins and Blood Proteins in Medicine

Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic illness caused by Toxoplasma gondii. Those with a normal immune system normally recover without treatment. Immunocompromised individuals and pregnant women must be treated regularly. Toxoplasmosis is a serious illness that may reactivate in immunocompromised patients. A retrospective study using machine learning of toxoplasmosis patients at Government Fever Hospital in Gorantla, Guntur, India, included 25 women, eight of whom were pregnant. These included sex, age, symptoms and side effects, pregnancy, ophthalmic, and antitoxoplasmosis titers, and treatment regimens. Protease mobility and specific activity were increased in toxoplasmosis-infected women's sera, although not significantly (p=0.05). However, there was no discernible decline. The impacts of nanoparticle impact demonstrated a 52.24 percent drop in compound concentration in the presence of zinc nanoparticles, whereas the effect of ZnO nanoparticles was 51.37 percent. Zinc nanoparticles lowered IgA, IgG, and IgM levels in the eye.

Nursing Care Systematization with Case-Based Reasoning and Artificial Intelligence

Of the most popular applications of artificial intelligence (AI), those used in the health sector are the ones that represent the largest proportion, in terms of use and expectation. An investigative systematization model is proposed in the scientific training of nursing professionals, by articulating epistemological positions from previous studies on the subject. In order to validate the model proposed, a prototype was created to present an application that could help nurses in their clinical processes, storing their experiences in a case base for future research. The prototype consisted of digitizing paediatric nursing diagnoses and inserting them into a case base in order to assess the effectiveness of the prototype in handling these cases in a structure conducive to retrieval, adaptation, indexing, and case comparison. This work presents as a result a computational tool for the health area, employing one of the artificial intelligence techniques, case-based reasoning (CBR). The small governmental nursing education institution in Bangladesh used in this study did not yet have the systemization of nursing care (NCS) and computerized support scales.

Health Care System View of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccine Acceptability by Emirati Men

This is the most frequent sexually transmitted illness on the planet, and both men and women are equally vulnerable. HPV is associated with a broad variety of female disorders, including 99 percent of all cervical cancer cases. Specifically, the goal and contributions of this study are to determine Emirati men's opinions about the HPV vaccination, specifically whether they would use it themselves or allow their female relatives to use the vaccine. To collect the primary data, a statistical cross-sectional survey was conducted. This quantitative study was conducted using primary sources of data. A questionnaire survey with a sample size of 390 participants was used to collect data from 400 individuals. Male university students in the United Arab Emirati men have a weak grasp of HPV and are averse to vaccination (Ortashi et al., 2013). The percentage of Emirati men who accept the HPV vaccination is 37%. A total of 40.3% of the respondents opted not to participate in the survey at all. Eighty-six percent of the women surveyed had heard of cervical cancer, and one-third believed that they were at risk in the future. Twenty-five percent of those surveyed said that the HPV vaccination was safe, while 26% said it was unsafe. Respondents were just 3.1 percent vaccinated, and their family members were only 87% not vaccinated.
