Abstract
Probiotics are increasingly recognized for their potential in managing bacterial challenges in animal production. This study aimed to evaluate the probiotic potential of Bacillus and Streptomyces strains, specifically their bioprotective ability against Salmonella. In agar inhibition assays, these bacteria supported Salmonella-inhibition zones, ranging from 2.5 ± 0.5 to 6.3 ± 2.0 mm. Analyses of antimicrobial metabolites revealed their capacity to produce compounds with anti-Salmonella properties, except for Bacillus subtilis MLB2. When Salmonella was exposed to lyophilized metabolites, inhibition occurred in both liquid (at concentrations between 250 and 500 g/L) and solid cultures (at 500 g/L). To confirm their probiotic potential, the S. griseus and Bacillus strains underwent evaluations for antimicrobial resistance, bile salt tolerance, auto- and co-aggregation, pH resistance, and their ability to adhere to and inhibit Salmonella in Caco-2 cells. These assessments confirmed their probiotic potential. The probiotic strains were further encapsulated and subjected to simulated swine and poultry digestion. They demonstrated survival potential through the gastrointestinal tract and significantly reduced the Salmonella population. Thus, these strains exhibit considerable promise for producing biotechnological products aimed at controlling Salmonella in animal production. This approach ensures the health and hygiene of farming facilities, mitigates the spread of zoonotic bacteria, and contributes positively to public health.

Abstract
Microbial resistance and deprivation of the effective drugs have become the foremost problem that propels to seek out for advanced approach. This concept initiated a need to search for more effective antimicrobial compounds from reliable sources. The Streptomyces is grouped under phylum Actinobacteria and are considered prolific producers of antibiotics, around 70% of presently available antibiotics are contributed by Streptomyces alone. In this study, Mangroves of the Mangalore Coast offered a unique source for screening Actinomyces group of microorganisms. We investigated on the four soil samples collected from Mangrove swamps of Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Based on their culture traits, the 18 distinct Actinomyces isolates were analyzed through a series of morphological and biochemical tests on starch casein nitrate (SCN) media. Culture biomasses were subjected for intracellular protein extraction through acetone precipitation method; the extracted proteins from each Actinomyces isolate were examined for antimicrobial activity against test organisms. The isolate ANTB-YKMU4 showed potential antimicrobial activity against significant number of test organisms; Bacillus cereus, Proteus vulgaris, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhimurium, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The isolate ANTB-YKMU4 through 16 s rRNA gene sequence analysis was identified as Streptomyces tauricus strain with GenBank accession no. MW785875.1. The S. tauricus further cultivated for efficient biomass growth on SCN media for subsequent protein extraction and purification by a series of Electrophoretic and chromatographic techniques. Thus, by intracellular extractions from S. tauricus resulted in the identification of peptide with a molecular weight of 266 Da that was characterized by LC-MS.

Abstract
The Glutamicibacter group of microbes is known for antibiotic and enzyme production. Antibiotics and enzymes produced by them are important in the control, protection, and treatment of chronic human diseases. In this study, the Glutamicibacter mysorens (G. mysorens) strain MW647910.1 was isolated from mangrove soil in the Mangalore region of India. After optimization of growth conditions for G. mysorens on starch casein agar media, the micromorphology of G. mysorens was found to be spirally coiled spore chain, each spore visualized as an elongated cylindrical hairy appearance with curved edges visualized through Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) analysis. The culture phenotype with filamentous mycelia, brown pigmentation, and ash-colored spore production was observed. The intracellular extract of G. mysorens characterized through GCMS analysis detected bioactive compounds reported for pharmacological applications. The majority of bioactive compounds identified in intracellular extract when compared to the NIST library revealed molecular weight ranging below 1kgmole-1. The Sephadex G-10 could result in 10.66 fold purification and eluted peak protein fraction showed significant anticancer activity on the prostate cancer cell line. Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis revealed Kinetin-9-ribose and Embinin with a molecular weight below 1 kDa. This study showed small molecular weight bioactive compounds produced from microbial origin possess dual roles, acting as antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) and anticancer peptides (ACPs). Hence, the bioactive compounds produced from microbial origin are a promising source of future therapeutics.

Isolation, Characterization, and Effect on Biofilm Formation of Bacteriocin Produced by Lactococcus lactis F01 Isolated from Cyprinus carpio and Application for Biopreservation of Fish Sausage. Abstract
The aim of this work was the screening of bacteriocin-producing LABs isolated from fish, the selection of promising/prominent strain(s), the characterization of the bacteriocin produced, and the evaluation of its potential to be used as biopreservative(s). Amplification and sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene of the bacteriocin-producing strain was performed. Then a partial purification of the produced bacteriocin, using a combination of ammonium sulfate and chloroform-methanol precipitation, was done. Its molecular weight was determined by SDS-PAGE. In addition, the action spectrum, the hemolysis test, and its ability to inhibit biofilm formation were analyzed. A total of 88 isolates of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) including one bacteriocin producer, which was identified as Lactococcus lactis F01, were collected. The bacteriocin was partially purified with an estimated yield of 40%. Regarding the SDS-PAGE profile, the secreted bacteriocin has molecular weight of about 3.5 kDa and was identified as class I bacteriocin. The antimicrobial test showed that the bacteriocin inhibits pathogenic and/or spoilage bacteria, 10 Gram-positive and 16 Gram-negative bacterial species. Moreover, it can inhibit biofilm formation from 1.3% (Escherichia coli) to 63.92% (Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC15692) depending on the strain. The hemolytic activity of novel bacteriocin was observed at the concentration of 10 μg/ml of bacteriocin crude extract, which was
. In addition, it exhibited good thermal and pH stability with retained antibacterial activity of 85.25% after treatment at 121°C for 20 min, as well as at a pH range between 2.0 and 10.0. Moreover, this bacteriocin showed the ability to inhibit the growth of bacterial culture load in fish sausage stored at 8°C for 28 days. Considering the results obtained, bacteriocin could be potentially exploited as an alternative to chemical preservatives or as a substitute for antibiotics.

Abstract
Consumption of fresh and minimally processed food is closely related to foodborne diseases. To minimize the adverse effects, bacteriocin-like inhibitory substance (BLIS) as a natural preservative can be used. One of the bacteriocins with promising activity was produced by Streptomyces sp. Using gel filtration chromatography, the bacteriocin purification process succeeded in obtaining semi-purified fractions with broad-spectrum inhibitory activity to foodborne pathogen bacteria. These fractions are also stable up to 100 °C and pH 2.0–7.0. High-Resolution Liquid Chromatography Electrospray Ionization-Tandem Mass Spectrometry analysis followed by orthogonal projection to latent structure showed that each fraction had eight peaks with the highest positive correlation to BLIS-specific activity. Peptide identification based on MS spectrum found 597 predictive peptides, of which 42 predictive peptides with antimicrobial peptide characteristics and the highest iAMPpred antimicrobial peptide probability (>0.5) were selected. The selected predictive peptides have molecular mass of 247.13-615.37 Da and consist of at least 20% hydrophobic amino acids with a hydrophobicity value of 14.72 Kcal mol−1. The results of this study indicate the effectiveness of BLIS purification by gel filtration chromatography and the promising potential of semi-purified BLIS as a natural preservative. Besides, the active peptides in semi-purified BLIS can also be identified quickly so that the isolation process to obtain purified-BLIS can be carried out more efficiently.

Abstract
Acne vulgaris is a multifactorial disease that remains under-explored; up to date it is known that the bacterium Cutibacterium acnes is involved in the disease occurrence, also associated with a microbial dysbiosis. Antibiotics have become a mainstay treatment generating the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. In addition, there are some reported side effects of alternative treatments, which indicate the need to investigate a different therapeutic approach. Natural products continue to be an excellent option, especially those extracted from actinobacteria, which represent a prominent source of metabolites with a wide range of biological activities, particularly the marine actinobacteria, which have been less studied than their terrestrial counterparts. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to identify and evaluate the potential anti-infective activity of metabolites isolated from marine actinobacteria strains against bacteria related to the development of acne vulgaris disease. It was found that there is a variety of compounds with anti-infective activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, bacteria closely related to acne vulgaris development; nevertheless, there is no report of a compound with antibacterial activity or quorum-sensing inhibition toward C. acnes, which is a surprising result. Since two of the most widely used antibiotics for the treatment of acne targeting C. acnes were obtained from actinobacteria of the genus Streptomyces, this demonstrates a great opportunity to pursue further studies in this field, considering the potential of marine actinobacteria to produce new anti-infective compounds.
