Abstract
BACKGROUND Understanding cancer patients' unmet needs for chemotherapy-related symptom management will assist clinicians in developing tailored intervention programs. Little is known about the association between perceived communication efficacy and unmet care needs for symptom management in patients with lung and colorectal cancer. OBJECTIVES To examine the unmet care needs for symptom management of patients with lung and colorectal cancer and their association with perceived communication efficacy. METHODS A cross-sectional survey was conducted in a tertiary hospital in China from July to November 2020. A convenience sample of 203 patients with lung and colorectal cancer undergoing chemotherapy completed survey questionnaires, including the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory Scale and the Perceived Efficacy in Patient‒Physician Interactions Scale. RESULTS Approximately 43% of participants had at least one symptom with unmet needs. Fatigue was reported as the symptom with the highest occurrence (66%), the highest demand for supportive care (36%), and the highest prevalence of unmet needs (19%). Low levels of perceived communication efficacy independently predicted participants' unmet needs for symptom management (β=-0.13, p = 0.011). CONCLUSIONS This study highlights the necessity of introducing clinical assessment tools and guidelines to address fatigue and other chemotherapy-induced symptoms in patients with lung and colorectal cancer. Clinical programs designed to actively engage cancer patients to voice their needs and strengthen their communication efficacy are also warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Patient follow-up is an essential component of hospital management. In the current information era, the patient follow-up scheme is expected to be replaced by Internet technology. This study constructed a cloud follow-up platform for gynecological chemotherapy patients and assessed its cost-effectiveness and patients' feedback. METHODS A total of 2,538 patients were followed up using a cloud follow-up system between January and October 2021. Prior to this, 690 patients were followed manually via telephone calls. Patients' characteristics, follow-up rate, satisfaction, and session duration were compared between the cloud follow-up and manual follow-up groups. In addition, the read rate of health education materials in the cloud follow-up group was analyzed. RESULTS General information, including age, education attainment, cancer stage, and disease category, and follow-up rate (cloud: 6,957/7,614, 91.4%; manual: 1,869/2,070, 90.3%; P = 0.13) did not significantly differ between the two groups. The follow-up satisfaction of the cloud follow-up patients was significantly better than that of the manual follow-up group (cloud: 7,192/7,614, 94.5%; manual: 1,532/2,070, 74.0%; P<0.001). The time spent on the follow-up was approximately 1.2 h for 100 patients in the cloud follow-up group and 10.5 h in the manual follow-up group. Multivariate analysis indicated that the cloud follow-up group had significantly greater follow-up satisfaction (odds ratio: 2.239, 95% CI: 1.237 ~ 5.219). Additionally, the average follow-up duration of the cloud follow-up group decreased by 9.287 h (coefficient: -9.287, 95% CI: -1.439~-0.165). The read rate of health education materials was 72.9% in the cloud follow-up group. CONCLUSIONS The follow-up effect of the cloud follow-up group was not inferior to that of the manual follow-up group. The cloud follow-up was more effective for prevention and control requirements in the post-epidemic era. Cloud follow-up can save medical resources, improve cost-effectiveness, provide sufficient health education resources for patients, and improve their satisfaction.

Abstract
Aim The breast is the leading site of cancer among females. Chemotherapy is the standard treatment of breast cancer and it results in multiple side effects. Apart from pharmacological management, self-care behaviors may significantly influence the management of these side effects. The study aimed to assess the self-care behavior of patients with breast cancer in the management of side effects of chemotherapy. Methods A longitudinal descriptive study was conducted at the Daycare chemotherapy unit of the Radio Therapy Department, Government Medical College Hospital Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. In total, 170 female patients with breast cancer receiving their first cycle of chemotherapy participated in the study. Self-care behavior was the primary outcome variable of the study. Sociodemographic and clinical data were measured by using a structured questionnaire. The severity of side effects and self-care behaviors for their management were measured by a Self Care Diary (SCD). Result A total of 170 with breast cancer receiving chemotherapy participated in the study. The severity of side effects and self-care behaviors for their management were measured at two separate time intervals, T1 and T2. Severe fatigue was found in 80.0% of participants at T1 and 61.2% at T2. Vomiting (47.7%), mucositis (48.2%), and nausea (49.1%) were also found to be severe at T1, but these side effects were moderate (53.8%, 58.8%, and 51.8% respectively) at T2. Despite the high number of self-care behaviors used to prevent infection, nausea/vomiting, bleeding, decreased appetite, sleeping difficulty, and constipation, overall self-care behaviors were found to be poor. A negative correlation was found between self-care behavior and side effects of chemotherapy. Conclusion The study revealed a negative correlation between self-care behaviors and side effects. This indicates that supportive education and training should be given to patients and caregivers to enhance the self-care behaviors of patients to manage the side effects.

Abstract
The discovery of novel anti-cancer agents from natural resources is highly necessary. Concerning the above problem, the purpose of this study was to discover an anti-cancer compound from Caspian cobra venom. Fractionation of Caspian cobra venom was performed by gel filtration and IEX chromatography. The results showed an anti-cancer protein nominated as Oxilipin. Activity and toxicity of Oxilipin were studied on the colon SW480 cancer cell line using MTT, LDH release, PI staining, morphological cell analysis, hemolysis, and anti-proliferation assays. Oxilipin, an 11kDa protein purified from the venom of the Caspian cobra. LC/MS/MS analysis of obtained protein showed homology with Phospholipase A2 from Naja naja oxiana. 40 µg/ml of Oxilipin can induce an apoptotic effect in SW480 cell line up to 90%; meanwhile, this amount can induce only one-third of cytotoxicity on a normal cell. In this study, Iranian cobra venom was found to have cytotoxic effects on SW480 colon cancer tumor cells, with the least cytotoxicity on normal cells on HEK-293. Given that Oxilipin has slight toxicity on normal cells, it can be hypothesized that the obtained peptide can be considered as a drug lead in an animal model study of colon cancer.
