Abstract
Direct and indirect evidence suggests that endometrial receptivity may play a crucial role in the reduced fertility rate of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Various pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies with potential effects on endometrial receptivity in patients with PCOS have been proposed. The aim of this study was to summarize the rationale and the clinical and experimental evidence of interventions tested for improving endometrial receptivity in infertile patients with PCOS. A systematic review was conducted by consulting electronic databases. All interventions with a potential influence on endometrial receptivity in infertile patients with PCOS were evaluated, and their main biological mechanisms were analysed. In total, 24 interventions related to endometrial receptivity were identified. Notwithstanding a strong biological rationale, no intervention aimed at improving endometrial receptivity in women with PCOS is supported by an adequate body of evidence, limiting their use in clinical practice. Further high-quality research is needed in this field to limit potentially ineffective and unsafe add-on treatments in infertile patients with PCOS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa), combined with other auxiliary treatments, can improve pregnancy outcomes in in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). This research investigated the effect of acupuncture combined with GnRHa in patients with recurrent implantation failure (RIF) of IVF-ET. METHODS A total of 164 patients who intended to undergo frozen-thawed embryo transfer after RIF of IVF-ET were selected for experiments and then divided into the control (received conventional hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for endometrial preparation) and study groups (received a combination of acupuncture, GnRHa, and HRT for endometrial preparation) (n = 82). Endometrial thickness (EMT), endometrial morphological classification, submucosal uterine blood flow classification, clinical pregnancy rate, embryo implantation rate, and early abortion rate for each transfer cycle were compared between the two groups. RESULTS EMT of the study group was higher than that of the control group 1 day before transfer. There were more patients with linear endometrium (A + B type) in the study group on the day of endometrial transformation than in the control group. The number of patients with type I submucosal uterine blood flow in the study group was decreased and the number of patients with type III was increased compared with the control group on the day of endometrial transformation. The clinical pregnancy rate and embryo implantation rate of the study group were higher than those of the control group. CONCLUSION Acupuncture combined with GnRHa improves the endometrial receptivity of patients with RIF of IVF-ET, thereby increasing clinical pregnancy rates and improving pregnancy outcomes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of scalp acupuncture combined with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for post-stroke cognitive impairment at different time intervals. METHOD This retrospective cohort study divided patients into two groups according to the timing of the scalp acupuncture combined with rTMS intervention. Group A received scalp acupuncture combined with rTMS at 1 month post-stroke and routine basic treatment and cognitive function training at two months post-stroke. Group B received routine basic treatment and cognitive function training at 1 month post-stroke and scalp acupuncture combined with rTMS at 2 months post-stroke. Both groups underwent cognitive assessment using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) before treatment and at the ends of the first and second months post-stroke. RESULTS The study population included 92 total stroke patients divided evenly into Groups A and B. Group A's total scores were higher at the end of the first month of treatment compared with baseline and remained stable at the end of the second month of treatment. By contrast, Group B's total score remained stable at the end of the first month of treatment compared with baseline and increased by the end of the second month. There were no significant differences in the scores at baseline or the end of the second month between the two groups. CONCLUSION Scalp acupuncture combined with rTMS can effectively treat cognitive function in patients with post-stroke cognitive impairment, regardless of the timing of the intervention.

Abstract
This study discusses the relationship between Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and diabetes in women, which has become increasingly prevalent due to changing lifestyles and environmental factors. The characteristic that distinguishes women with PCOS is hyperandrogenism which results from abnormal ovarian or adrenal function, which leads to the overproduction of androgens. Excessive androgens in women increase the risk of Type 2 diabetes (T2D) and insulin resistance (IR). Nowadays, diabetes affects people of all ages and is linked to factors such as lifestyle, genetics, stress, and aging. Diabetes, the uncontrolled high blood sugar level can potentially harm kidneys, nerves, eyes, and other organs and there is no cure, making it a concerning disease in developing nations. This research tried to submit the evidence through feature-wise correlation analyses between PCOS and diabetes. Hence, this model utilized the Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and the Elbow clustering algorithms for the experimental purpose in which the EDA deeply analyzed the features of PCOS and diabetes and recorded a positive correlation of 95%. The Elbow clustering technique is employed for verifying the correlations identified through EDA. Although limited research exists on this specific disease, this work provides potential evidence for the research community by evaluating the clustering results using Silhouette Score, Calinski-Harabasz Index, and Davies-Bouldin Index.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common disorder that leads to infertility in reproductive-aged females. HOTAIR is highly expressed in various gynecological diseases and is associated with a poor prognosis. We aimed to explore the role of HOTAIR in PCOS. METHODS First, PCOS rats were induced using dehydroepiandrosterone and then treated with si-HOTAIR. Next, HOTAIR mRNA expression and serum hormone levels were detected. HE staining was applied to observe estrus cycle, ovarian morphology and count the number of follicles. Apoptosis in the ovary was detected by TUNEL. Thereafter, ovarian granulosa cells (GCs) were isolated from PCOS rats, transfected with si-HOTAIR and treated with LY294002 (Akt inhibitor) or IGF-1. CCK-8 and flow cytometry assays were used to evaluate cell viability and apoptosis. IGF-1, apoptosis- and PI3K/Akt pathway-associated protein expressions in ovary and GCs were also detected. RESULTS In in vivo experiments, si-HOTAIR decreased serum T, E2 and LH levels but increased FSH level, restored estrus cycle, ovarian morphology and inhibited apoptosis of ovary in PCOS rats. Meanwhile, in vitro assays showed that si-HOTAIR upregulated the viability but inhibited the apoptosis of PCOS GCs. Furthermore, both in vivo and in vitro assays revealed that si-HOTAIR increased Bcl-2 expression but suppressed Bax, Bad, IGF-1 expressions and PI3K, AKT phosphorylation. However, the aforementioned effects of si-HOTAIR in vitro were further enhanced by LY294002 and partially reversed by IGF-1. CONCLUSIONS HOTAIR knockdown improved PCOS, and the mechanism may relate to IGF-1-mediated PI3K/Akt pathway, indicating HOTAIR may be a novel therapeutic target for PCOS.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the effect of acupuncture for improving the pregnancy rate of COH rats from the viewpoint of regulating the opening time of the implantation window and endometrial receptivity. METHODS Experimental rats were randomly divided into normal group (N), model group (M) and acupuncture group(A), and samples were collected on Day 4, 5 and 6 after mating. COH rats were treated with acupuncture at SP6, LR3, and ST36 once a day for 7 times. The pinopodes were observed under a scanning electron microscope. Serum estrogen and progesterone levels were measured via ELISA. The protein and mRNA levels of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), integrin β3, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF-2) in the endometrium were evaluated via West-blot, immunohistochemistry, and PCR. RESULTS Compared with group N, the pregnancy rate of group M was significantly decreased (P<0.05), and the abnormal serum hormone levels and implantation window advancement were observed. Compared with group M, the pregnancy rate of group A was significantly increased (P<0.05), the supraphysiological serum progesterone levels were restored to normalcy (P<0.05), and the advanced implantation window was restored to a certain extent. Further, the abnormal ER, PR, LIF, integrin β3, VEGF, and FGF-2 expression levels of the endometrium got recovered to varying degrees. CONCLUSION Acupuncture may restore the estrogen and progesterone balance in COH rats and the forward shift of the implantation window to a certain extent, improving the endometrial receptivity and finally improving the pregnancy rate of COH rats.

Abstract
Purpose Acupuncture can improve symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but the potential mechanisms remain undefined. So, we aimed to explore the behavioral improvement of autism rat model after acupuncture and to describe the potential molecular mechanism underlying these changes. Patients and Methods Wistar rats were intraperitoneally injected with VPA 12.5 days after conception, and their offspring were considered as good models of autism. Experimental rats were divided into three groups (wild-type (WT), n = 10; VPA, n = 10; and VPA_acupuncture, n = 10). VPA_acupuncture group rat received 4 weeks of acupuncture treatment (Shéntíng (GV24), and Bilateral Běnshén (GB13)) on the 23rd day after birth. All rats were subjected to behavioral tests, including social interaction, open field, and Morris water maze tests. Afterwards, hippocampal tissues (left side) were removed and subjected to RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis; ELISA was also used to detect the associated serotonin levels in the hippocampus. Results Behavioral tests showed that acupuncture treatment improved spontaneous activity, aberrant social interaction, and alleviated impaired learning and memory in the VPA-induced rat model. Differentially expressed genes (DGEs) analysis showed 142 significantly differentially expressed genes between WT and VPA groups, and 282 between VPA and VPA_acupuncture rats. Htr2c and Htr1a, 5-HT receptor genes, were up-regulated in the VPA group compared with WT group. Additionally, Tph1, a rate-limiting enzyme gene of 5-HT synthesis, was up-regulated after acupuncture. These genes were confirmed to have the same trend of expression obtained by RT-qPCR and RNA seq. Furthermore, the concentration of serotonin in the hippocampus in the VPA group was significantly lower than the WT and VPA_acupuncture groups. Conclusion Acupuncture improved abnormal behavioral symptoms in the VPA-induced rat model. Further experiments showed that the improvement of the serotonin system may be one of the main regulatory mechanisms of acupuncture for treating ASD.
