Drying kinetics prediction and quality effect of ultrasonic synergy vacuum far-infrared drying of Codonopsis pilosula

By using ultrasonic synergy vacuum far-infrared drying (US-VFID), the effects of different conditions on the drying kinetics, functional properties, and microstructure of Codonopsis pilosula slices were studied. The sparrow search algorithm (SSA) was used to optimize the back-propagation (BP) neural network to predict the moisture ratio during drying. With the increase of ultrasonic frequency, power and radiation temperature, the drying time of C. pilosula was shortened. The drying time of US-VFID was 25% shorter than VFID, when radiation temperature was 50°C, ultrasonic power was 48 W, and frequency was 28 kHz. The SSA-BP neural network, the average absolute error prediction was 0.0067. Compared with hot air drying (HAD), the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of C. pilosula by US-VFID were increased by 29.47% and 8.67%, respectively, and a reduction in color contrast of 16.19%. The dilation and generation of microcapillary of C. pilosula were more obvious. The study revealed US-VFID could be used for the selection and process control of agro-processing methods for C. pilosula products.

Promoting Healthy Behaviors in Older Adults to Optimize Health-Promoting Lifestyle: An Intervention Study

Introduction: Exercise intervention is the easiest and most effective way to promote human health. This study combined technology and exercise to improve the health behavior of the older adults through a physical activity intervention and to enhance a health-promoting lifestyle. Materials and methods: A quasi-experimental research method was used to openly recruit 120 healthy male and female older adults over 65 years old (average age of males: 71.6 ± 1.25 years; average age of females: 72.3 ± 1.28 years), all of whom wore smart bracelets. The participants were monitored by special personnel during the same period of walking every Monday to Friday. All participants recorded their daily steps, distance walked, and calorie consumption data for a period of 8 weeks. Results: After 8 weeks of walking, all participants showed a positive medium−high correlation of various factors between healthy behaviors and the health-promoting lifestyle scales. In the post-tests of each factor of two scales, males had the highest correlation between regular physical activity and physical activity, and females had the highest correlation between regular physical activity and social support. The variabilities in the explanatory power of the health behaviors of males and females on the health-promoting lifestyle were R2 = 70.9% (p < 0.01) and R2 = 74.1% (p < 0.01), indicating that the variables of healthy behaviors have a positive effect on health-promoting lifestyles in male and female older adults. Conclusions: Walking interventions positively affect the health behaviors of older adults and encourage health-promoting lifestyles. The value of this study is in its contribution to health promotion and public health recommendations for older adults.

ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL HEALTH TEST RESULTS OF COLLEGE STUDENTS USING FUZZY LOGIC AS AN EVALUATION METHOD

ABSTRACT Objective: Based on the evaluation method with fuzzy integrals, this paper analyzes the results of physical health tests of college students. Methods: Principal component analysis was used to extract the psychological factors. The evaluation model was organized into three levels to evaluate the physical health of college students. Results: The physical health status of University Q students is below average. Most of the students’ physical examination results are concentrated in the passing areas, and few students have an excellent to good ratio. Conclusion: The fitness assessment model of university students, based on an assessment with fuzzy integrals, has certain generalizability and applicability. The established index system and the comprehensive evaluation model are suitable for thoroughly evaluating each student and comprehensive fitness evaluation of all boys and girls in a class or college. EFFECT OF AEROBIC EXERCISE ON METABOLISM AND PHYSICAL HEALTH OF OBESE FEMALE COLLEGE STUDENTS

ABSTRACT Objective: To explore the effects of aerobic exercise on the metabolism and physical health of obese college students. Methods: 219 obese college students of different stages were selected by stratified group sampling according to colleges and grades. The effects on physical indices of obese female college students were analyzed by the two-factor variation method after 32 weeks of aerobic exercise training. Results: The experimental group and the control group were significantly improved, and long-term aerobic prescription training was more effective than special education in changing the physical health of obese female college students. After 32 weeks of extreme weight loss training, in the statistical process of 219 valid data, 188 people were found to have lost weight, with the most significant drop reaching 8 kg; BMI decreased in 193 people, and body fat content decreased in 172 people. After 12 weeks of aerobic exercise, the level of cardiopulmonary function of female college students increased. The aerobic exercise prescription designed by the experiment can improve upper and lower limb strength, body flexibility, abdominal muscle strength, and lung function of female college students, which cannot be achieved by diet control alone. Conclusion: Aerobic exercise prescription is an effective means to improve the effect of cardiopulmonary exercise on female college students, and can stimulate the students’ enthusiasm and initiative to exercise independently.
