Abstract
AIM: To evaluate whether perioperative comprehensive nursing improves negative mood and sleep quality in patients with liver cancer.
METHODS: From December 2012 to February 2015, 120 liver cancer patients treated at our hospital were included and equally divided into a control group and an observation group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received comprehensive nursing. Improvement of negative mood and sleep quality was compared between the two groups.
RESULTS: The degrees of anxiety and depression were improved after nursing in both groups (P < 0.05), and the improvement was more significant in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The quality of sleep was improved after nursing in both groups (P < 0.05), and the improvement was more significant in the observation group than in the control group (7.23 ± 1.25 vs 10.37 ± 3.56, P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION: For patients with liver cancer, perioperative comprehensive care can significantly improve patients' negative mood and sleep quality.
