Abstract
ZIF-8 (zeolitic imidazolate framework-8) is a potential drug delivery system because of its unique properties, which include a large surface area, a large pore capacity, a large loading capacity, and outstanding stability under physiological conditions. ZIF-8 nanoparticles may be readily functionalized with targeting ligands for the identification and absorption of particular cancer cells, enhancing the efficacy of chemotherapeutic medicines and reducing adverse effects. ZIF-8 is also pH-responsive, allowing medication release in the acidic milieu of cancer cells. Because of its tunable structure, it can be easily functionalized to design cancer-specific targeted medicines. The delivery of ZIF-8 to cancer cells can be facilitated by folic acid-conjugation. Hence, it can bind to overexpressed folate receptors on the surface of cancer cells, which holds the promise of reducing unwanted deliveries. As a result of its importance in cancer treatment, the folate-conjugated ZIF-8 was the major focus of this review.

Abstract
Sorafenib (SF), a multi-kinase inhibitor, is the first FDA-approved systemic chemotherapy drug for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, its clinical application is limited by severe toxicity and side effects associated with high applied doses. Sophora alopecuroides L. is traditionally used as Chinese herbal medicine for treating gastrointestinal diseases, bacillary dysentery, viral hepatitis, and other diseases, and exerts an important role in anti-tumor. Hence, we investigated the synergistic actions of seventeen flavonoids from this herb combined with SF against HCC cell lines and their primary mechanism. In the experiment, most compounds were found to prominently enhance the inhibitory effects of SF on HCC cells than their alone treatment. Among them, three compounds leachianone A (1), sophoraflavanone G (3), and trifolirhizin (17) exhibited significantly synergistic anticancer activities against MHCC97H cells at low concentration with IC50 of SF reduced by 5.8-fold, 3.6-fold, and 3.5-fold corresponding their CI values of 0.49, 0.66, and 0.46 respectively. Importantly, compounds 3 or 17 combined with SF could synergistically induce MHCC97H cells apoptosis via the endogenously mitochondrial-mediated apoptotic pathway, involving higher Bax/Bcl-2 expressions with the activation of caspase-9 and -3, and arrest the cell cycle in G1 phases. Strikingly, this synergistic effect was also closely related to the co-suppression of ERK and AKT signaling pathways. Furthermore, compound 3 significantly enhanced the suppression of SF on tumor growth in the HepG2 xenograft model, with a 79.3% inhibition ratio at high concentration, without systemic toxicity, compared to either agent alone. These results demonstrate that the combination treatment of flavonoid 3 and SF at low doses exert synergistic anticancer effects on HCC cells in vitro and in vivo.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS) is a type of soft tissue sarcoma, the histologic origin and differentiation direction of which are still unclear. There are few treatment options for UPS other than surgery. Herein we describe a patient who had multiple recurrences of UPS postoperatively, but R0 resection was achieved by local hyperthermia combined with chemotherapy, thus providing a new treatment approach for similar situations.
CASE SUMMARY A 65-year-old man sought evaluation from a physician for a mass on his right back. After surgery, the pathologic diagnosis was fibrosarcoma. During the follow-up evaluations until 2021, the patient had four relapses of varying degrees. Postoperative pathology confirmed the recurrence of UPS on the right back. In March 2021, he underwent local hyperthermia combined with two cycles of chemotherapy for recurring lesions. After magnetic resonance imaging re-examination and preoperative examination, the patient chose surgery again. During the operation, the tumors were easy to excise, the amount of bleeding decreased significantly, and the pathologic evaluation confirmed that one of the specimens was an R0 excision.
CONCLUSION Local hyperthermia combined with chemotherapy enables R0 resection to be achieved in patients with advanced UPS recurrence.

Abstract
Liver cancer is one of the main malignant tumors that endanger human health, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common histological type of this heterogeneous cancer. The tumor microenvironment (TME) is a dynamic system composed of tumor cells and tumor-related stroma. HCC can form tumor-related blood vessels through a variety of angiogenesis modes. Previous studies have shown that various components of TME mediate HCC angiogenesis in multiple ways, which brings big challenges to clinical anti-angiogenesis therapy. This article reviews the research progress of HCC angiogenesis model and the role of TME in the regulation of HCC angiogenesis, with an aim to provide a reference for basic and clinical research of liver cancer.

Abstract
Cell signal transduction refers to the process by which a signal molecule induces signal transduction in a cell by stimulating the cell membrane or intracellular receptor, thereby affecting the biological function of the cell. In recent years, studies have found that the activation or inhibition of certain cell signal transduction pathways plays an important role in the development and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma. This article will review the recent research progress in the understanding of the role of some common signal transduction pathways in hepatocellular carcinoma.
