Abstract
Chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA) is a common and debilitating condition in children, with limited research on its characteristics and treatment. Therefore, this study aims to describe the characteristics of pediatric patients with CIA and the treatment outcomes of topical minoxidil and L-cystine, medicinal yeast, and pantothenic acid complex-based dietary supplements (CYP). This retrospective cohort study analyzed data from patients who underwent high-dose conditioning chemotherapy followed by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and were treated with either topical minoxidil or CYP for CIA between January 2011 and January 2022. Among the 70 patients evaluated, 61 (87.1%) experienced clinical improvement. Patients in the groups with superior treatment outcomes received a greater cumulative amount of minoxidil and underwent treatment for a more extended duration (P < 0.05) than those in the other groups. All 70 (100%) patients received topical minoxidil, and 42 (60%) were administered CYP. Hair thickness was significantly higher in the combination therapy group than in the minoxidil monotherapy group (21.4% vs. 9.3%, P = 0.02). However, only 3 (4.3%) patients reported mild and self-limiting adverse events. In conclusion, our study shows that minoxidil and CYP administration represent viable treatment options for pediatric CIA.

Abstract
Introduction Chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA) can seriously affect the quality of life of cancer patients. Trichoscopic patterns and confocal microscopy (RCM) features of CIA have been scarcely studied. This study aimed to investigate the dermoscopic and RCM features of CIA in 19 females and 5 males, with CIA due to current or recent chemotherapy. Methods Patients with CIA and current or recent (within 2 months) history of chemotherapy treatment were enrolled. After clinical examination, standard pictures were taken by digital camera (SLR Canon PowerShot G10) and trichoscopic images were captured by the Handyscope device (20x). Images of RCM were acquired by VivaScope 3000 with the VivaStack option. The trichoscopic and confocal images were acquired by three independent observers after central parting on three areas: vertex, middle, and frontal scalp. Results A total of 24 patients were enrolled. CIA has features of anagen effluvium at trichoscopy but with low frequency of yellow dots and prominence of black dots. The simultaneous presence of pseudo-monilethrix and black dots at trichoscopy confirms the hypothesis that chemotherapy insults the hair follicle intermittently. At RCM, the presence of abnormal hair shaft morphology highlights that the insults affect hair shaft production. Conclusion These are the first data in this field, so further studies with a higher number of patients analyzed are needed to confirm these findings.

Abstract
Drug-induced alopecia areata is a rare adverse event wherein medications such as antimicrobials, anticonvulsants, and biologics, trigger the premature transition of actively growing hairs into the telogen phase. Herein, a unique case of alopecia universalis observed during a clinical trial involving sacubitril/alisartan, a novel angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) has been reported. This case contributes to the range of cutaneous reactions that might be observed in association with ARNI therapy.
