Abstract
Some observational studies have highlighted a significant association between cholecystitis and factors leading to sudden death; however, the specific relationship between the 2 has not been fully elucidated. The primary objective of this study was to elucidate the causal interplay between cholecystitis and augmented risk of sudden cardiac death. We used large-scale genetic summary data from genome-wide association study, genetic summary statistics were sourced from 3 eminent repositories: the UK Biobank (N = 463,010), the FinnGen consortium (N = 215,027), and the European Bioinformatics Institute (N = 471,251). By employing 2-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to decipher the causal interplay between cholecystitis and sudden death etiologies, a meta-analytical approach was employed to amalgamate the findings derived from these disparate data sources. The primary MR methodologies used included inverse variance weighting with random effects, inverse variance weighting with fixed effects, maximum likelihood, MR-Egger, and weighted median. Subsequently, we performed heterogeneity testing, polyvalency examination, and sensitivity analysis to bolster the robustness of causal relationship assessments. Meta-analysis and amalgamating variegated data sources revealed a statistically significant inverse correlation between cholecystitis and ventricular arrhythmias (odds ratio, 0.896; 95% confidence interval: 0.826-0.971; P = .008). Similarly, an inverse association was observed between cholecystitis and aortic aneurysm (odds ratio, 0.899; 95% confidence interval: 0.851-0.951, P < .001). This study substantiates the absence of a direct causal link between cholecystitis and cerebrovascular accidents (P = .771), pulmonary embolism (P = .071), and acute myocardial infarction (P = .388). A direct causal correlation existed between cholecystitis and sudden death associated with ventricular arrhythmias and aortic aneurysms. The onset of cholecystitis may mitigate the risk of sudden death due to ventricular arrhythmias and aortic aneurysms.

Abstract
The World Health Organization declared coronavirus disease of 2019 as an epidemic and public health emergency of international concern on January 30th, 2020. Different factors during a pandemic can contribute to low quality of life in the general population. Quality of life is considered multidimensional and subjective and is assessed by using patient reported outcome measures. The aim and objective of this review is to assess the impact of coronavirus disease of 2019 and associated factors on the Quality of Life in the general population. This review was conducted and reported according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses. A protocol was registered in the international Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews database(CRD42021269897). A comprehensive electronic search in PubMed, EBSCO Host Research Databases, MEDLINE and Google scholar search engine was conducted. A total number of 1,7000,074 articles were identified from electronic search. 25 full text articles were retained for qualitative synthesis and seventeen articles for quantitative analysis. Seven main quality of life scales were used to assess the quality of life of the general population; World Health Organization Quality of Life-bref, EuroQuality of Life-Five dimensions, Short Form, European Quality of Life Survey, coronavirus disease of 2019 Quality of Life, General Health Questionnaire12 and My Life Today Questionnaire. The mean World Health Organization Quality of Life-brief was found to be 53.38% 95% confidence interval [38.50-68.27] and EuroQuality of Life-Five dimensions was 0.89 95% confidence interval [0.69-1.07]. Several factors have been linked to the Coronavirus disease of 2019 such as sociodemographic factors, peoples living with chronic diseases, confinement and financial constraints. This review confirms that the Coronavirus disease of 2019 pandemic affected the quality of life of the general population worldwide. Several factors such as sociodemographic, peoples living with chronic diseases, confinement and financial constraints affected the quality of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To systematically evaluate the effects of vitamin D supplementation in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). METHODS National Library of Medicine, Cochrane Library, Elsevier, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Web of Science, WANFANG databases, and Google Scholar were retrieved to collect relevant randomized controlled trials, which are published from the earliest records the time the database was created to April 2023. Meta-analysis was conducted by using Review Manager 5.4 software after evaluating in terms of inclusion and exclusion criteria. The outcome indicators include 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels, insulin resistance index (homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance), fasting blood glucose, and fasting insulin levels (FINS). RESULTS Eight randomized controlled trials with a total of 657 patients are included. Vitamin D supplementation increased 25(OH)D levels significantly (mean difference [MD] = 2.01, 95% confidence intervals [CI]: 0.94 to 3.08, P < .05) and vitamin D supplementation had a significant effect on insulin resistance index (MD = -0.54, 95% CI: -1.28 to 0.20, P = .16), fasting glucose (MD = -0.59, 95% CI: -1.50 to 0.32, P = .20), and FINS levels (MD = -0.30, 95% CI: -0.77 to 0.17, P = .21) had no significant effect. CONCLUSION Vitamin D supplementation improves 25(OH)D levels in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, but there is no effect on homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance, fasting blood glucose, or FINS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The Measurement Tool to Assess systematic Reviews (AMSTAR) 2 is a critical appraisal tool for systematic reviews (SRs) and meta-analyses (MAs) of interventions. We aimed to perform the first AMSTAR 2-based quality assessment of heart failure-related studies. METHODS Eleven high-impact journals were searched from 2009 to 2019. The included studies were assessed on the basis of 16 domains. Seven domains were deemed critical for high-quality studies. On the basis of the performance in these 16 domains with different weights, overall ratings were generated, and the quality was determined to be "high," "moderate," "low," or "critically low." RESULTS Eighty-one heart failure-related SRs with MAs were included. Overall, 79 studies were of "critically low quality" and two were of "low quality." These findings were attributed to insufficiency in the following critical domains: a priori protocols (compliance rate, 5%), complete list of exclusions with justification (5%), risk of bias assessment (69%), meta-analysis methodology (78%), and investigation of publication bias (60%). CONCLUSIONS The low ratings for these potential high-quality heart failure-related SRs and MAs challenge the discrimination capacity of AMSTAR 2. In addition to identifying certain areas of insufficiency, these findings indicate the need to justify or modify AMSTAR 2's rating rules.

Abstract
Heart failure (HF) is a multifactorial syndrome that remains a leading cause of worldwide morbidity. Despite its high prevalence, only half of patients with HF respond to guideline-directed medical management, prompting therapeutic efforts to confront the molecular underpinnings of its heterogeneity. In the current study, we examined epigenetics as a yet unexplored source of heterogeneity among patients with end-stage HF. Specifically, a multicohort-based study was designed to quantify cardiac genome-wide cytosine-p-guanine (CpG) methylation of cardiac biopsies from male patients undergoing left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. In both pilot (n = 11) and testing (n = 31) cohorts, unsupervised multidimensional scaling of genome-wide myocardial DNA methylation exhibited a bimodal distribution of CpG methylation found largely to occur in the promoter regions of metabolic genes. Among the available patient attributes, only categorical self-identified patient race could delineate this methylation signature, with African American (AA) and Caucasian American (CA) samples clustering separately. Because race is a social construct, and thus a poor proxy of human physiology, extensive review of medical records was conducted, but ultimately failed to identify covariates of race at the time of LVAD surgery. By contrast, retrospective analysis exposed a higher all-cause mortality among AA (56.3%) relative to CA (16.7%) patients at 2 yr following LVAD placement (P = 0.03). Geocoding-based approximation of patient demographics uncovered disparities in income levels among AA relative to CA patients. Although additional studies are needed, the current analysis implicates cardiac DNA methylation as a previously unrecognized indicator of socioeconomic disparity in human heart failure outcomes. NEW & NOTEWORTHY A bimodal signature of cardiac DNA methylation in heart failure corresponds with racial differences in all-cause mortality following mechanical circulatory support. Racial differences in promoter methylation disproportionately affect metabolic signaling pathways. Socioeconomic factors are associated with racial differences in the cardiac methylome among men with end-stage heart failure.
