Abstract
Thrombosis and thrombophlebitis of the facial vein represent exceptionally rare diagnoses, particularly when occurring as complications of acute sialadenitis of the submandibular gland. This case report details the experience of a middle-aged man initially presenting at a tertiary care ear, nose and throat department with right submandibular gland sialadenitis. Despite initiating outpatient treatment involving oral antibiotics and sialagogues, the patient returned after a week with persistent and worsening pain, accompanied by swelling of the right submandibular gland and cheek. Using ultrasound, the accurate diagnosis was promptly identified, revealing thrombosis in the facial vein. The patient underwent a comprehensive treatment regimen involving anticoagulation and intravenous antibiotics. With a subsequent reduction in pain and swelling, the patient was discharged, continuing oral anticoagulation and antibiotics. Outpatient follow-up revealed a complete recovery 3 weeks later. This case underscores the importance of timely and precise diagnostic measures in managing rare complications associated with sialadenitis.

Abstract
Long considered a "forgotten disease" of a bygone era, the apparent reemergence of Lemierre syndrome highlights the need for awareness of this rare condition to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment. Lemierre syndrome should be suspected in young adults presenting with a chest or neck infection and requires prolonged antibiotic therapy, surgical drainage of collections, and often anticoagulation.

Abstract
Lemierre's syndrome refers to septic thrombophlebitis caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum bacteremia. The incidence of Lemierre's syndrome has risen over the past two decades. This report describes a case of a 31-year-old woman presenting with multifocal pneumonia and uncomplicated parapneumonic effusion, considered as COVID-19 pneumonia initially, then found to have Lemierre's syndrome with Fusobacterium necrophorum bacteremia and right internal jugular vein thrombophlebitis. Her condition improved after four weeks of antibiotics without anticoagulation. The article summarized the history, epidemiology, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, and treatment of Lemierre's syndrome, the rare but severe complication of bacterial infection. The article also summarized six reported Lemierre's syndrome cases during the COVID-19 pandemic to emphasize the significance of having a broad differential diagnosis for respiratory symptoms, especially in the COVID-19 era.

Abstract
Lemierre's syndrome is a triad consisting of oropharyngeal infection, internal jugular vein thrombophlebitis, and systemic embolisation typically involving lung and brain. Orbital involvement in this life-threatening condition is rare but potentially blinding and may be an indicator of intracranial involvement. We describe a case of odontogenic Lemierre's syndrome complicated by extensive orbital and intracranial septic venous thrombosis, with optic and cranial neuropathy resulting in monocular blindness and ophthalmoplegia. A multidisciplinary approach with abscess drainage, antibiotic and antithrombotic therapy, and close radiological monitoring was critical for preserving contralateral vision and neurological function.

Abstract
Background Lemierre's syndrome is a rare condition of internal jugular vein thrombosis following oropharyngeal infection. While it usually results from Fusobacterium necrophorum infection, atypical cases associated with other pathogens have been reported. Objective To describe a unique case of pediatric Lemierre's syndrome with Streptococcus viridans infection resulting in cavernous sinus thrombosis and oculomotor, trochlear, and abducens nerve palsies. Case Report. A 14-year-old female initially presented after six days of fever, myalgias, and sore throat and was admitted for hyperbilirubinemia and acute kidney injury. She developed a fixed, dilated pupil with complete ophthalmoplegia, ptosis, and severe pain. Imaging revealed retromandibular space abscess, external and internal jugular vein thrombosis, cavernous sinus thrombosis, internal carotid artery stenosis, pulmonary embolism, and bilateral pneumonia. She was diagnosed with Lemierre's syndrome with cultures positive for Streptococcus viridans and treated with a combination of antibiotics and anticoagulation. Conclusion and Relevance. Both antibiotics and anticoagulation were effective management for this Lemierre's syndrome patient with cavernous sinus thrombosis. Early diagnosis and treatment of Lemierre's syndrome is essential. A multidisciplinary treatment team is beneficial for managing the sequelae of this condition.

Abstract
Lemierre’s syndrome (LS) is a potentially fatal complication of oropharyngeal infection, resulting in contiguous suppurative thrombosis of the internal jugular vein (IJV) and septic emboli. It is most commonly associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum (F. necrophorum), though other pathogens have also been implicated in its pathogenesis. The incidence of LS had so significantly decreased that it was referred to as "the forgotten disease." However, cases of LS have shown a resurgence, which may be partly attributed to an overreliance on a negative group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal rapid antigen detection test (RADT), commonly referred to as "rapid strep test." Clinicians must maintain a very high index of suspicion for LS in patients with persistent sequelae from tonsillopharyngitis who have a negative RADT.
