Abstract
OBJECTIVE The incidence of splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs) has increased with advances in imaging techniques, necessitating a comprehensive classification to guide treatment strategies. This study aims to propose a novel classification system for SAAs based on aneurysm characteristics and to review treatment outcomes at our center. METHODS This retrospective study included 113 patients with SAAs admitted to Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2019 to December 2023, assessed using computed tomography angiography or digital subtraction angiography. A new classification system was devised based on the aneurysm location, morphology, integrity, and parent artery anatomy. Treatment strategies were determined based on these characteristics, with interventions ranging from endovascular therapy to laparoscopic and open surgery. Patients were followed up after the intervention to assess mortality, complications, reinterventions, and aneurysm-related outcomes. RESULTS The study cohort of 113 patients with 127 SAAs had a predominance of female patients (63.7%) and a mean age of 52.7 years. The SAAs were classified into five types, with type I being the most common. The intervention techniques varied across types, with sac embolization, covered stent implantation, and artery embolization being the most frequently used. The overall technical success rate was 94.7%, with perioperative complication and reintervention rates of 25.0% and 0.9%, respectively, and no deaths within 30 days after the intervention. The median follow-up duration was 21 months, with overall complications rate of 3.5% and no aneurysm-related complications or deaths. CONCLUSIONS The proposed classification system effectively guides the selection of treatment strategies for SAAs, incorporating key anatomical and morphological features. This system facilitated high technical success and low complication rates, underscoring the importance of tailored techniques in managing SAAs.

Abstract
Splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs) are a relatively uncommon but potentially life-threatening disease. In recent years, although there have been an increasing number of reports of interventional radiology (IVR) treatment for SAAs, there are still many cases in which surgical intervention is required. In particular, SAAs associated with infective endocarditis (SAAs-IE) are rare, and the treatment strategies and perspectives for SAAs-IE remain controversial. Herein, we report a successful case of laparoscopic splenectomy for SAAs-IE with a literature review.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of the study is to analyze our single-center experience in endovascular treatment of splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs) with transcatheter coil embolization, comparing long-term outcomes of packing and sandwich techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between January 2010 and December 2021, 28 patients with certain diagnosis of non-ruptured asymptomatic SAA were treated with 2 different embolization techniques (packing, n=10, and sandwich, n=18). Early outcomes assessed were technical success, overall mortality, mean hospital stay, post-embolization syndrome rate, and freedom from splenectomy rate. Estimated 5-year outcomes in terms of freedom from sac reperfusion, and freedom from reintervention were evaluated and compared between the 2 different embolization techniques. RESULTS The mean SAA diameter was 2.8±0.8 cm. Overall technical success rate was 100%. Intraoperative and 30-day mortality rates were 0 in both groups. One patient in the sandwich group required a postoperative splenectomy. The mean follow-up period was 58.3±44.5 months. Estimated overall 5-year survival was 86.7%. Five-year freedom from sac reperfusion was 100% in the sandwich group, and 85.7% in the packing group, with no difference between the 2 groups (p=0.131), whereas freedom from reintervention was 100% in the sandwich group, and 75% in the packing group with a statistically significant difference (p=0.049; log-rank=3.750). CONCLUSIONS Embolization of SAAs seemed to be safe and effective with 100% of technical success rate and good perioperative results. Both sandwich and packing techniques yielded promising results also in the long-term period. CLINICAL IMPACT Transcatheter coil embolization of splenic artery aneurysms seems to be a safe and effective procedure with a 100% technical success and satisfactory perioperative outcomes. Sandwich and packing techniques offer good results in the long-term period. Freedom from reintervention seems to be optimal and comparable between the 2 techniques.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In treatment of aneurysms (SAAs) and pseudoaneurysms (SAPs) of the splenic artery, endovascular coil embolization is the approach most commonly used as it is minimally invasive and safe. However, it carries a significant rate of primary failure (up to 30%) and might be complicated by splenic infarction. The use of stent grafts might represent a valuable alternative when specific anatomical criteria are respected. We report a comprehensive review on technical and clinical outcomes achieved in this setting. Methods: We performed a comprehensive review of the literature through the MedLine and Cochrane databases (from January 2000 to December 2023) on reported cases of stenting for SAAs and SAPs. Outcomes of interest were clinical and technical success and related complications. The durability of the procedure in the long-term was also investigated. Results: Eighteen papers were included in the analysis, totalling 41 patients (n = 20 male 48.8%, mean age 55.5, range 32-82 years; n = 31, 75.6% SAAs). Mean aneurysm diameter in non-ruptured cases was 35 mm (range 20-67 mm), and most lesions were detected at the proximal third of the splenic artery. Stent grafting was performed in an emergent setting in n = 10 (24.3%) cases, achieving immediate clinical and technical success rate in 90.2% (n = 37) of patients regardless of the type of stent-graft used. There were no procedure-related deaths, but one patient died in-hospital from septic shock and n = 2 (4.9%) patients experienced splenic infarction. At the last available follow-up, the complete exclusion of the aneurysm was confirmed in 87.8% of cases (n = 36/41), while no cases of aneurysm growing nor endoleak were reported. None of the patients required re-intervention during follow-up. Conclusions: When specific anatomical criteria are respected, endovascular repair of SAAs and SAAPs using stent grafts appears to be safe and effective, and seems to display a potential advantage in respect to simple coil embolization, preserving the patient from the risk of end-organ ischemia.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Although splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs) are the most common visceral aneurysm, there is a paucity of literature on the behavior of these entities. The objective of this study was to review the natural history of patients with SAA. METHODS This single-institution, retrospective analysis studied patients with SAA diagnosed by computed tomography imaging between 2015 and 2019, identified by our institutional radiology database. Imaging, demographic, and clinical data were obtained via the electronic medical record. The growth rate was calculated for patients with radiologic follow-up. RESULTS The cohort consisted of 853 patients with 890 SAAs, of whom 692 were female (81.2%). There were 37 women (5.3%) of childbearing age (15-50 years). The mean age at diagnosis was 70.9 years (range: 28-100 years). Frequently observed medical comorbidities included hypertension (70.2%), hypercholesterolemia (54.7%), and prior smoking (32.2%). Imaging indications included abdominal pain (37.3%), unrelated follow-up (28.0%), and follow-up of a previously noted visceral artery aneurysm (8.6%). The mean diameter at diagnosis was 13.3 ± 6.3 mm. Anatomic locations included the splenic hilum (36.0%), distal splenic artery (30.3%), midsplenic artery (23.9%), and proximal splenic artery (9.7%). Radiographically, the majority were saccular aneurysms (72.4%) with calcifications (88.5%). One patient (38-year-old woman) was initially diagnosed at the time of rupture of a 25 mm aneurysm; this patient underwent immediate endovascular intervention with no complications. The mean clinical follow-up among 812 patients was 4.1 ± 4.0 years, and the mean radiological follow-up among 514 patients was 3.8 ± 6.8 years. Of the latter, 122 patients (23.7%) experienced growth. Aneurysm growth rates for initial sizes <10 mm (n = 123), 10 to 19 mm (n = 353), 20 to 29 mm (n = 34), and >30 mm (n = 4) were 0.166 mm/y, 0.172 mm/y, 0.383 mm/y, and 0.246 mm/y, respectively. Of the entire cohort, 27 patients (3.2%) eventually underwent intervention (81.5% endovascular), with the most common indications including size/growth criteria (70.4%) and symptom development (18.5%). On multivariate analysis, only prior tobacco use was significantly associated with aneurysm growth (P = .028). CONCLUSIONS The majority of SAAs in this cohort remained stable in size, with few patients requiring intervention over a mean follow-up of 4 years. Current guidelines recommending treatment of asymptomatic aneurysms >30 mm appear appropriate given their slow progression. Despite societal recommendations for intervention for all SAAs among women of childbearing age, only a minority underwent vascular surgical consultation and intervention in this series, indicating that these recommendations are likely not well known in the general medical community.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE Although endovascular therapy is becoming more used for the treatment of splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs) instead of open surgery, there is limited information available on the emergent hybrid approach, selectively. We present our experience of hybrid therapy using an emergent endovascular balloon for inflow control and open resection. CASE PRESENTATION A 34-year-old woman was brought to the emergency room after it was reported that she had a pseudoaneurysm in her splenic artery at a different medical facility. The patient was hemodynamically stable. Then we underwent a combination of endovascular and open procedures, using balloon proximal control and open aneurysm resection. She was discharged from hospital on the fifth postoperative day after the operation. CLINICAL DISCUSSION There is no agreement on how to treat SAA patients. Endovascular procedures such as endovascular intervention are also being used, minimizing the risks of surgery and shortening the patient's hospital stay, but complications remain. We propose to try SAA's emergency hybrid strategy operation with a good prognosis and fewer complications. CONCLUSION It seems that, compared to open surgery alone when endovascular procedures were impossible, elective hybrid procedures are more secure and efficient in stable patients and could make the operation easier without more dissection for proximal control of splenic artery.

Abstract
PURPOSE To analyze the selection of endovascular treatment strategies and the efficacy of various locations and types of splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs). METHODS Sixty-three cases of patients diagnosed with SAA from January 2016 to October 2021 were collected, and their clinical data and follow-up results were analyzed. RESULTS Among the 63 patients, 55 had true SAAs, and 8 had false SAAs. The average diameter of the true SAAs was 2.0 ± 0.8 cm. There were 10 cases of intra-aneurysm embolization, 24 cases of intra-aneurysm and aneurysm-bearing artery embolization, 10 cases of bare stent-assisted coil embolization, and 11 cases of stent grafts. The false SAAs had an average diameter of 2.3 ± 1.1 cm. Aneurysm-bearing artery embolization was applied in 5 cases, and stent grafts were applied in 3 cases. The incidence of complications after embolization of the aneurysm-bearing artery was higher (P < 0.01). Postembolization syndrome occurred in 10 patients; 7 patients developed splenic infarction to varying degrees, 1 patient had mildly elevated blood amylase, and 1 patient developed splenic necrosis with abscess formation, all of which improved after active treatment. The average length of hospital stay was 5.5 ± 3.2 days. The average follow-up time was 17.2 ± 16.1 months, and the aneurysm cavity of all patients was completely thrombotic. CONCLUSION Endovascular treatments of SAAs are safe and effective. For various locations and types of SAAs, adequate selection of treatment is necessary. Stent grafts are recommended for their safety, economy, practicality, and preservation of the physiological functions of the human body.

Abstract
A 62-year-old woman with abdominal pain was diagnosed with a splenic artery aneurysm (SAA) and an anatomical variant in the splenic artery (SA) arising from the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) as its first branch. To treat the SAA, the draining artery and a small branch of the SAA were embolized, and then small-diameter stent grafts were deployed from SMA orifice, covering the aberrant origin of the SA and preserving the second branch of SMA. Intraoperative angiography confirmed successful exclusion of the SAA without endoleak or arterial dissection. The stent graft was patent and the aneurysm had shrunk 3.5 years after the operation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ruptured splenic artery aneurysms (r-SAA), although rare, are burdened by high morbidity and mortality, even despite emergent surgical repair. It is suggested that endovascular treatment can achieve reduction in peri-operative death and complication rates, as in other vascular diseases, but evidence of such benefits is still lacking in this particular setting. We report a case of an r-SAA treated by trans-arterial embolization and then converted to open surgery for persistent bleeding, and we provide a systematic review of current results of open and endovascular repair of r-SAAs. MATERIALS AND METHODS A 50-year-old male presenting in shock for a giant r-SAA underwent emergent coil embolization and recovered hemodynamic stability. On the following day, he underwent laparotomy for evacuation of the huge intraperitoneal hematoma, but residual bleeding was noted from the splenic artery, which was ligated after coil removal, and a splenectomy was performed. A systematic literature review of the reported mortality and complications of r-SAA undergoing open (OSR) or endovascular (EVT) treatment was performed using the main search databases. All primary examples of research published since 1990 were included regardless of sample size. The main outcome measures were mortality and reinterventions. Secondary outcomes were post-operative complications. RESULTS We selected 129 studies reporting on 350 patients-185 treated with OSR and 165 with EVT. Hemodynamically unstable patients and ruptures during pregnancy were more frequently treated with open repair. Overall, there were 37 deaths (mortality: 10.6%)-24 in the OSR group and 13 in the EVTr group (mortality: 12.9% and 7.8% respectively, p-value: 0.84). There were 37 reinterventions after failed or complicated endovascular repair -6 treated with endovascular re-embolization and 31 with laparotomy and splenectomy (22.4%); there were 3 (1.6%) reinterventions after open repair. Overall complication rates were 7.3% in the EVT group (n: 12) and 4.2% in the OSR group (n: 7), and did not require reintervention. No significant differences in overall complications or in any specific complication rate were observed between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS Current results of r-SAA treatment show equipoise terms of morbidity and mortality between open and endovascular repair; however, in case of hemodynamic instability and rupture during pregnancy, open surgery might still be safer. Moreover, endovascular repair is still burdened by a significantly higher rate of reinterventions, mostly with conversions to open surgery.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the outcomes of splenic artery aneurysm (SAA) embolization and compare adverse event (AE) rates after embolization in patients with and without portal hypertension (PHTN). MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective review of all patients who underwent embolization of SAAs at 2 institutions was performed (34 patients from institution 1 and 7 patients from institution 2). Baseline demographic characteristics, preprocedural imaging, procedural techniques, and postprocedural outcomes were evaluated. Thirty-day postprocedural severe and life-threatening AEs were evaluated using the Society of Interventional Radiology guidelines. Thirty-day mortality and readmission rates were also evaluated. t test, χ2 test, and/or Fisher exact test were used for the statistical analysis. RESULTS There was no statistically significant difference between patients with and without PHTN in the location, number, and size of SAA(s). All procedures were technically successful. There were 13 (32%) patients with and 28 (68%) patients without PHTN. The 30-day mortality rate (31% vs 0%; P = .007), readmission rates (61% vs 7%; P < .001), and severe/life-threatening AE rates (69% vs 0%; P < .001) were significantly higher in patients with PHTN than in those without PHTN. CONCLUSIONS There was a significantly higher mortality and severe/life-threatening AE rate in patients with PHTN than in those without PHTN. SAAs in patients with PHTN need to be managed very cautiously, given the risk of severe/life-threatening AEs after embolization.

Abstract
Visceral artery aneurysm, especially splenic artery aneurysm, is rare and is usually associated with pregnancy. When such aneurysms rupture, they can be fatal, and they often require emergency surgery. This case report includes a review of the literature and describes a effective multidisciplinary approach to managing this type of aneurysm. We describe the treatment of a ruptured splenic artery aneurysm and the careful coordination of obstetric, vascular surgery, and intensive care teams. The uniqueness of this case arose from the metal embolization coil that was found to have fallen off from a recently embolized ruptured splenic artery aneurysm. The management of this ruptured splenic artery aneurysm and iatrogenic foreign body insult required a combination of multiple specialties to provide life-saving treatment. Such cases should be managed by multidisciplinary teams if institutional resources allow for it.

Abstract
We herein report the case of a voluminous splenic artery aneurysm (SAA) diagnosed in a 48 year-old Caucasian male patient. After endovascular treatment failure, considering the volumetric aneurysm increase and recurrent symptoms, a laparoscopic splenic artery aneurysmectomy with partial splenectomy guided by indocyanine green fluorescence (ICG) was performed. This conservative strategy leads to save a spleen volume of about 10 cm3 to avoid postsplenectomy thrombocytosis and infections, potential immunodeficiency and overwhelming postsplenectomy infection syndrome (OPSS) and to preserve pancreatic vascularization preventing distal pancreas injuries.

Abstract
Splenic artery aneurysms (SAAs) are among the most common visceral aneurysms behind aortic and iliac arteries. Certain factors like aneurysm size (especially giant SAAs), hypertension (HTN), symptomatology, pregnancy, portal hypertension (pHTN), and liver transplantation increase the risk of rupture. Most often found incidentally, but when symptomatic, can present with nonspecific symptoms like nausea, vomiting, anorexia, and epigastric/left upper quadrant pain. Diagnosis can be accomplished with different modalities of CT or MRI and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) being the gold standard for diagnosis. Treatment is usually preferred for aneurysms >2 cm, symptomatic cases, and pregnant women. Various surgical/interventional procedures can be performed and selected based on the patient’s sex, age, location of the aneurysm, size of the aneurysm, and presenting complaints/complications. Endovascular techniques with or without stent-graft placement are being used more, given the minimally invasive nature of these procedures. No clear guidelines exist on initiation of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT), but based on guidelines from visceral arterial stenting (especially iliac arteries and renal arteries), multiple case reports/series on SAAs, we highly recommend the usage of DAPT pre- and post-stent-graft placement to improve patency.

Abstract
Aneurysms of the splenic artery represent a rare clinical entity, even though they account for 60-70% of all visceral artery aneurysms. Splenic artery aneurysms larger than 5 cm are extremely rare, and they are considered to be giant. Possible causes of splenic artery aneurysm development include: trauma, hormonal and local hemodynamic changes in pregnancy, portal hypertension, arterial degeneration, infection and postsplenectomy occurrence. Surgical treatment of giant splenic artery aneurysms includes procedures that frequently require pancreatectomy and splenectomy. We present a case of a 10.2 cm giant splenic artery aneurysm, firmly adhered to the pancreas, which was treated surgically, with spleen and pancreas preservation. SIMILAR CASES PUBLISHED: Although many cases on treatment of giant splenic artery aneurysm have been published, the majority have described additional visceral resections associated with aneurysmectomy, which is in contrast with our report. Furthermore, aneurysms reaching 10 cm in size were extremely rare.

Abstract
Purpose To evaluate the long-term radiologic and clinical outcomes of stent-graft placement for the treatment of post-pancreaticoduodenectomy arterial hemorrhage (PPAH) based on the imaging findings of stent-graft patency and results of liver function tests. Materials and Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of nine consecutive patients who underwent stent-graft placement for PPAH between June 2012 and May 2017. We analyzed the immediate technical and clinical outcomes and liver function test results. Stent-graft patency was evaluated using serial CT angiography images. Results All stent-grafts were deployed in the intended position for the immediate cessation of arterial hemorrhage and preservation of hepatic arterial blood flow. Technical success was achieved in all nine patients. Eight patients survived after discharge, and one patient died on postoperative day 28. The median follow-up duration was 781 days (range: 28-1766 days). Follow-up CT angiography revealed stent-graft occlusion in all patients. However, serum aspartate aminotransferase or alanine aminotransferase levels in all patients were well below those observed in hepatic infarction cases. Conclusion Stent-graft placement is a safe and effective treatment method for acute life-threatening PPAH. Liver function and distal hepatic arterial blood flow were maintained postoperatively despite the high incidence of stent-graft occlusion observed on follow-up CT.

Abstract
Splenic artery aneurysm is a relatively rare, potentially life-threatening condition due to its high potential for rupture. We report a case of two incidentally found unruptured splenic artery aneurysms in a 39 year-old female victim of severe trauma resulting from a motor vehicle accident (MVA). Management by coiling of the splenic artery aneurysm and embolization to the entire segment distal to it was successfully performed for this patient.

Background Spleen artery aneurysm represents the most common visceral aneurysm and the third most common splanchnic aneurysm. Most patients have no symptoms and are diagnosed as a part of other diagnostic focuses and examinations. Greater prevalence and application of modern diagnostic and imaging procedures has resulted in greater detection of this disease. Results We present two patients with splenic artery aneurysms localized in the splenic hilum, who auspiciously underwent laparoscopic splenectomies with the use of hem-o-lock clips in the vascular hilum without complications. Both postoperative courses were uneventful. At six months follow up, both patients are asymptomatic. Conclusion These two cases showed that in addition to the numerous advantages of minimally invasive approaches for treating splenic arterial aneurysms, there is a possibility to improve laparoscopic technique in terms of safety and economic reasons by using hem - o - lock clips as a hemostatic technique for the vascular elements of the spleen hilum. Spleen artery aneurysm represents the most common visceral aneurysm. We present 2 patients with splenic artery aneurysms localized in the splenic hilum. Hem-o-lock clips can be safely used to secure the splenic hilium.

Abstract
BACKGROUND True giant splenic artery aneurysms (GSAAs) >5 cm are rare and present unique therapeutic challenges. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anatomic and clinical characteristics of these lesions and the current surgical and endovascular techniques available for their treatment. METHODS A systematic review of the literature from 2004 to 2018 and the personal experience of the authors with management of GSAAs are presented. A total of 92 GSAA cases were reviewed. Analyses were performed on anatomic and clinical features and management modalities and outcomes of GSAA, including reintervention, morbidity, and mortality. RESULTS GSAA presented at a mean age of 56.1 ± 17.3 years, with no sex predilection; 73% were symptomatic at presentation. Abdominal pain was the presenting symptom in >50% of cases; 34% percent were ruptured, with an overall mortality rate of 12.5%. This group often presented with gastrointestinal bleeding or hemodynamic collapse. The aneurysms were almost evenly distributed across the splenic artery and were not uncommonly associated with arteriovenous fistula formation (8.7%). There were 88 patients who had surgical (53.4%), endovascular (44.3%), or combination (2.3%) therapy. The most commonly performed procedure was aneurysmectomy and splenectomy with or without additional resection. Overall, surgical treatment had a lower morbidity (P = .041) than endovascular therapy and comparable reintervention and mortality rates. CONCLUSIONS GSAAs are uncommon vascular lesions, with distinct clinical features and aneurysm characteristics. Considering their high risk of rupture, timely diagnosis and management are essential to attain a satisfactory outcome. Surgery remains the standard treatment of these lesions. Endovascular intervention is a viable alternative in high-risk patients, particularly those with lesions <10 cm or with anomalous origin.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Splenic artery aneurysms are rare, potentially serious, and usually asymptomatic. Several methods are currently available to treat them, each with their own advantages and drawbacks. Therefore, its therapeutic paradigm has changed. METHODS We review our database of splenic aneurysms (2009-2019) and undertake an exhaustive literature review. Demographic, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic, early and follow-up outcome data were examined. Our experience comprised: 15 patients with 19 splenic aneurysms. 11 women (average age, 59.4 years) and 4 men (average age, 61.7 years). All asymptomatic. RESULTS At diagnosis, aneurysms had a mean cross-sectional diameter of 3.4 cm (3.2 and 3.9 for women and men, respectively), the largest measuring 8.5 cm. Two independent aneurysms were detected in four patients. Diagnoses were always incidental to a CT scan. Treatments consisted of open surgery (2 patients), endovascular surgery (10 patients: 7 embolizations, 3 covered stent) and observation/follow-up (3 patients). The cases of open surgery (with splenectomy) were carried out without postoperative morbidity. One embolization failed (requiring subsequent open surgery) and two suffered localized splenic infarction, but without further complications. In patients treated with a covered stent, the aneurysm was always excluded, without complications. There was no 30-day or follow-up (average 26.2 months) mortality. Splenic aneurysms are diagnosed more frequently and earlier (in the asymptomatic phase), albeit incidentally, than in the past. CONCLUSIONS The correct indication (identifying patients at risk) and individualization of treatment, in which endovascular techniques are the first-line option, have significantly improved morbidity and mortality outcomes in our hospital.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Most major abdominal vascular injuries are caused by penetrating injuries. A common iliac artery occlusion caused by blunt force trauma is rare, and very few cases have been reported. Because of this low incidence, atypical symptoms, and frequent association with other severe injuries, the proper diagnosis tends to be missed or delayed. The gold standard for diagnosis is angiography, and treatment remains a challenge. CASE SUMMARY We report here the unusual case of a common iliac artery occlusion caused by blunt abdominal compressive trauma, with transection of the small intestine. At presentation, the patient (a 56-year-old man) complained of pain and numbness in the left lower extremity and severe pain in the whole abdomen. Physical examination showed total abdominal tenderness with evidence of peritoneal irritation. The left lower limb was pulseless and cold. Abdominal computed tomography examination revealed digestive tract perforation, and abdominal computed tomography angiography showed left common iliac artery occlusion. The patient was treated successfully by anastomosis of the intestine, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, and stenting. The patient was followed for more than 11 mo after the operation and showed a good recovery. CONCLUSION Patients with abdominal trauma should be suspected of having major vascular injury. Individualized treatment strategies are needed for this condition.
