Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious airborne disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Since the 1990 s, many countries have made significant progress in reducing the incidence of TB and associated mortality by improving health services and strengthening surveillance systems. Nevertheless, due to the emergence of multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), alongside extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB) and TB-HIV co-infection, TB remains one of the lead causes of death arising from infectious disease worldwide, especially in developing countries and disadvantaged populations. Marine natural products (MNPs) have received a large amount of attention in recent years as a source of pharmaceutical constituents and lead compounds, and are expected to offer significant resources and potential in the fields of drug development and biotechnology in the years to come. This review summarizes 169 marine natural products and their synthetic derivatives displaying anti-TB activity from 2013 to the present, including their structures, sources and functions. Partial synthetic information and structure-activity relationships (SARs) are also included.

Abstract
Xiaoqu starter serves as the saccharifying and fermenting agent in the production of Cantonese soybean-flavor (Chi-flavor) Baijiu, and the complex microbial communities determine the flavor and quality of the product. Round-Koji-mechanical starter (produced by using an automated starter-making disk machine) is advantageous as it decreases operator influence, labor costs, and fermentation time, but the product quality is lower compared to traditional starter. Thus, two types of starters (traditional and Round-Koji-mechanical starter) from a Cantonese Baijiu factory were compared in a metagenomic analysis to investigate the differences in microbial community composition and core microbes. The results showed that several core microbes related to carbohydrate metabolism, amino acid metabolism and lipid metabolism, were differentially enriched in the traditional starter. Mucor lusitanicus and Rhizopus delemar were significantly positively correlated with the three key metabolic pathways. Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Cyberlindnera fabianii, Kluyveromyces marxianus, Lactobacillus fermentum, Mucor ambiguous, Rhizopus microspores, Rhizopus azygosporus, Mucor circinelloides, and Ascoidea rubescens were significantly positively correlated with two of the three key metabolic pathways. The results of this study provide a basis for understanding the differential core microbes in traditional and Round-Koji-mechanical starters of Chi-flavor Baijiu, and they also provide guidance for improving Round-Koji-mechanical starter.

Abstract
BACKGROUND An endophytic fungal strain Penicillium crustosum was isolated from the seagrass Posidonia oceanica and investigated to identify its antimicrobial constituents and characterize its metabolome composition. The ethyl acetate extract of this fungus exhibited antimicrobial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) as well as an anti-quorum sensing effect against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. METHODS The crude extract was profiled by UHPLC-HRMS/MS, and the dereplication was assisted by feature-based molecular networking. As a result, more than twenty compounds were annotated in this fungus. To rapidly identify the active compounds, the enriched extract was fractionated by semipreparative HPLC-UV applying a chromatographic gradient transfer and dry load sample introduction to maximise resolution. The collected fractions were profiled by 1H-NMR and UHPLC-HRMS. RESULTS The use of molecular networking-assisted UHPLC-HRMS/MS dereplication allowed preliminary identification of over 20 compounds present in the ethyl acetate extract of P. crustosum. The chromatographic approach significantly accelerated the isolation of the majority of compounds present in the active extract. The one-step fractionation allowed the isolation and identification of eight compounds (1-8). CONCLUSION This study led to the unambiguous identification of eight known secondary metabolites as well as the determination of their antibacterial properties.

Abstract
Chaetoglobosins belonging to cytochalasan alkaloids represent a large class of fungal secondary metabolites. To date, around 100 chaetoglobosins and their analogues have been isolated and identified over the years from a variety of fungi, mainly from the fungus Chaetomium globosum. Studies have found that chaetoglobosins possess a broad range of biological activities, including antitumor, antifungal, phytotoxic, fibrinolytic, antibacterial, nematicidal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-HIV activities. This review will comprehensively summarize the biological activities and mechanisms of action of nature-derived chaetoglobosins.

Abstract
Four sesquiterpenes, including a previously undescribed one, were isolated from the fermentation broth of an endophytic fungus Aspergillus fumigatus, which was obtained from the root of Ligusticum wallichii. Their structures were elucidated through extensive spectroscopic analyses, and the absolute configurations of 1 and 3 were elucidated through NOESY analyses combined with the calculated ECD spectra.

Abstract
An extract of an unidentified endophyte from the Canadian medicinal plant Heracleum maximum exhibited a unique metabolomic profile and significant antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra. Bioassay guided fractionation of the extract led to the isolation of phomopsolide A (1) and 6(E’)-phomopsolide A (2). This is the first report of antimycobacterial activity for 1 and 2.
