Abstract
Within the Campus ALL network we analyzed the incidence, characteristics, treatment and outcome of a central nervous system (CNS) relapse in 1035 consecutive adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patients treated frontline with pediatric-inspired protocols between 2009 and 2020. Seventy-one patients (6.8%) experienced a CNS recurrence, more frequently in T- (28/278; 10%) than in B-ALL (43/757; 5.7%) (p = 0.017). An early CNS relapse-< 12 months from diagnosis-was observed in 41 patients. In multivariate analysis, risk factors for early CNS relapse included T-cell phenotype (p = <0.001), hyperleucocytosis >100 × 109 /L (p<0.001) and male gender (p = 0.015). Treatment was heterogeneous, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, intrathecal therapy and novel agents. A complete remission (CR) was obtained in 39 patients (55%) with no differences among strategies. After CR, 26 patients underwent an allogenic transplant, with a significant overall survival benefit compared to non-transplanted patients (p = 0.012). After a median observation of 8 months from CNS relapse, 23 patients (32%) were alive. In multivariate analysis, the time to CNS relapse was the strongest predictor of a lower 2-year post-relapse survival (p<0.001). In conclusion, in adult ALL the outcome after a CNS relapse remains very poor. Effective CNS prophylaxis remains the best approach and allogenic transplant should be pursued when possible.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Data about the feasibility or stability of drugs prepared for intrathecal administration are scarce, especially concerning the possibility of mixing two or more compounds in the same syringe. We evaluated the stability of an extemporaneously prepared triple intrathecal therapy containing methotrexate, cytarabine, and methylprednisolone hemisuccinate. MATERIALS AND METHODS Six mixtures containing 12.5 mg methotrexate, 50 mg cytarabine, and 40 mg methylprednisolone hemisuccinate, diluted to a final volume of 5 ml with water for injection, were prepared in polypropylene syringes on six different days. Syringes were stored protected from light either at room temperature (20°C) (n = 3) or refrigerated temperature (4°C) (n = 3). Samples were analyzed immediately after preparation and again at 0.5, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 24 h. The analysis was conducted with a high-performance liquid chromatography instrument equipped with a quaternary pump and diode array detector. pH was also assessed before every sample analysis. RESULTS When mixed in a polypropylene syringe, the three drugs were stable at both temperatures tested. No degradation >10% was observed in any sample and pH remained between 7.0 and 7.5 over time. No precipitation or color change occurred. Among the three compounds, methylprednisolone hemisuccinate was the most labile as a slight temperature- and time-dependent degradation was observed. CONCLUSION Triple intrathecal solution of methotrexate, cytarabine, and methylprednisolone hemisuccinate is stable for up to 24 h when stored in polypropylene syringes protected from light at 4°C and 20°C.

Abstract
Background Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a malignant clonal bone marrow disorder with a high mortality rate during the initial therapy. This retrospective study aimed to describe and analyze the risk factors and causes of induction-related mortality (IRM) in an adolescent and adult ALL population treated in a low- and middle-income country. Methods From 2009 to 2016, a total of 167 patients were included, of which 50.9% were male with a median age of 28 years. B-immunophenotype represented 97.6%, and high-risk cytogenetics were present in 23.3%. During induction therapy, 91% had at least 1 complication, most of which were infectious, with an IRM of 12%. Results Factors associated with increased mortality rate were central nervous system (CNS) status [CNS-3: hazard ratio (HR) 3.029; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.79-11.49; P=0.103 and CNS-2: HR, 9.98; 95% CI, 2.65-37.65; P=0.001] and dialysis requirement (HR, 9.15; 95% CI, 2.44-34.34; P=0.001). Conclusion Our study confirms that ALL patients treated in resource-constrained settings have high rates of IRM, mainly attributed to advanced disease and high tumor burden at diagnosis.

Abstract
Stringent formulation requirements are defined to intrathecally administer drug substances, avoiding neurological complications. In case of pediatric patients, these are further complicated due to the limited volumes of the celebrospinal fluid and, therefore, high concentrated solutions of methotrexate (MTX), cytarabine and corticosteroids (i.e., methylprednisolone or hydrocortisone) are prepared based on the patient's age. This work aims to assess the chemical and physical stability of triple intrathecal mixtures differing in volume and composition by a bracketing approach and to identify possible stress causes and mitigation strategies. Low solubility of MTX was the main factor limiting the physical stability of triple mixtures. Regarding solutions containing methylprednisolone, the amount of MTX remaining was about 95% in the solution at highest concentrations with the concomitant formation of a visible particulate sizing bigger than 1 µm after 24 h of storage at 25 °C. This behavior was mainly driven by the pH reduction due to the pH value of the cytarabine solution used; the shear stress also induced drug precipitation. In the case of the hydrocortisone based mixtures, the precipitate formation occurred at a slow rate. To improve the physical stability, a better control of the mixture pH (optimal value ≈ 7) is required or, as an alternative, the addition of the cytarabine solution to a pre-mixed binary mixture containing MTX and a corticosteroid should be preferred.

Abstract
For patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), total body irradiation (TBI) has been particularly advocated as a part of the conditioning regimen in case of extramedullary involvement in sanctuary sites such as the central nervous system (CNS), to ensure greater tissue penetration. In resource-limited countries lacking TBI facilities; however, ALL patients undergo radiation-free myeloablative conditioning, though its impacts on post-HSCT outcomes of the patients with pre-HSCT CNS involvement have not been analyzed. In this 14-year series of 278 adult (> 18 y) ALL patients undergoing TBI-free busulfan/cyclophosphamide conditioning allo-HSCT, we found that the long-term probabilities of overall survival, disease free survival, relapse and non-relapse mortality were not significantly different between CNS-involved and CNS-spared patients. Moreover, there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of post-HSCT CNS relapse between CNS-involved and CNS-spared patients. Pre-HSCT cranial radiation therapy (CRT) showed no significant preventive effect on the likelihood of post-HSCT CNS relapse. Through multivariable regression analysis, grade III-IV acute graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), extensive chronic GvHD and post-HSCT relapse were ascertained as independent determinants of mortality (Adj.R2 = 53.9 %, F(12,265) = 28.1, P < 0.001), while other parameters including Philadelphia translocation, pre-HSCT CNS involvement and CRT were found to have no independent effect. Although this study was not an attempt to compare TBI-based vs. non-TBI conditioning, the TBI-free myeloablative allo-HSCT was shown to be feasible and an option for adult ALL patients with CNS involvement, considering the comparable outcomes between patients with and without CNS involvement.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Altered mental status is a common cause for presentation to the emergency department with a broad differential diagnosis. CASE REPORT We present a unique case of altered mental status in a previously healthy man that was found to be secondary to primary central nervous system acute lymphoblastic leukemia. WHY SHOULD AN EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN BE AWARE OF THIS?: Lumbar puncture remains a critical tool for emergency physicians in the diagnosis of central nervous system pathologies.

Abstract
In acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), flow cytometry (FCM) detects leukemic cells in patients’ cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) more accurately than conventional cytology (CC). However, the clinical significance of FCM positivity with a negative cytology (i.e., occult central nervous system [CNS] disease) is not clear. In the framework of the national Campus ALL program, we retrospectively evaluated the incidence of occult CNS disease and its impact on outcome in 240 adult patients with newly diagnosed ALL. All CSF samples were investigated by CC and FCM. The presence of ≥10 phenotypically abnormal events, forming a cluster, was considered to be FCM positivity. No CNS involvement was documented in 179 patients, while 18 were positive by modified conventional morphology with CC and 43 were occult CNS disease positive. The relapse rate was significantly lower in CNS disease negative patients and the disease-free and overall survival (OS) were significantly longer in CNS disease negative patients than in those with manifest or occult CNS disease positivity. In multivariate analysis, the status of manifest and occult CNS disease positivity was independently associated with a worse OS. In conclusion, we demonstrate that in adult ALL patients at diagnosis FCM can detect occult CNS disease at high sensitivity and that the status of occult CNS disease positivity is associated with an adverse outcome. Abstract
Introduction: Multiparametric flow cytometry immunophenotype (MFCI) plays a crucial role in the diagnosis of acute leukemia (AL). Through the comprehensive assessment of surface and intracellular antigens expressed by blasts, MFCI permits to distinguish myeloid or B/T lymphoid AL, or AL of ambiguous lineages. By means of MFCI, the blasts can be characterized in bone marrow, peripheral blood, and body fluids, such as cerebrospinal fluid.Area covered: This review discusses how MFCI is currently applied in the diagnostic evaluation of AL; it also focuses on 'peculiar' issues such as the role of MFCI for the diagnosis of central nervous system leukemic involvement.Expert commentary: Despite the improved knowledge about the biology of AL, MFCI remains a fundamental tool to make a prompt and accurate diagnosis. MFCI also provides prognostic information for some antigens are associated with specific cytogenetic/genetic abnormalities and, recently, it became a powerful tool to evaluate the quality and depth of response (the so called 'measurable residual disease'). Its role as an efficient detector of residual disease paved the way to the investigation of tissues other than bone marrow and peripheral blood, demonstrating that even small amounts of AL appear to have a prognostic impact and may require personalized intervention.

Abstract
Purpose Limited data exist on intensifying chemotherapy regimens in the treatment of adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) outside the setting of a clinical trial. Materials and Methods Retrospectively, data from 507 consecutive adults (age ≥ 15 years) with a diagnosis of ALL treated at our center were analyzed. Standard-risk (SR) patients were offered treatment with a modified German Multicenter ALL (GMALL) regimen, whereas high-risk (HR) patients were offered intensification of therapy with hyperfractionated cyclophosphamide, vincristine, doxorubicin, and dexamethasone (HCVAD). Because of resource constraints, a proportion of HR patients opted to receive the same treatment regimen as used for SR patients. Results There were 344 SR patients (67.8%) and 163 HR patients (32.2%) at diagnosis. Among the HR patients, 53 (32.5%) opted to receive intensification with the HCVAD regimen. The SR cohort showed a superior 5-year event-free survival rate compared with the HR cohort (47.3% v 23.6%, respectively; P < .001). Within the HR subgroup, there was no statistically significant difference in overall survival or event-free survival between patients who received the modified GMALL regimen (n = 59) and patients who received HCVAD (n = 53). Conclusion Intensified therapy in the HR subset was associated with a significant increase in early treatment-related mortality and cost of treatment. A modified GMALL regimen was found to be cost-effective with clinical outcomes comparable to those achieved with more intensive regimens.

Abstract
A 26-year-old male with a history of pre-B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and seizures presented with second relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and central nervous system involvement, 19 years after the initial diagnosis. Over the next two months, the patient received six doses of triple intrathecal chemotherapy (cytarabine, methotrexate, and hydrocortisone), three concurrently with continuous blinatumomab in the second month. Approximately 12 days after blinatumomab initiation, he developed central nervous system toxicity manifesting as speech impairment, altered mental status, incontinence, and diffuse weakness. Blinatumomab was discontinued, and he was started on dexamethasone. Within the next couple of months, his neurologic status recovered, and he was able to perform all of his baseline activities without limitation. Unfortunately, the patient eventually expired after further relapse approximately one year later. To our knowledge, this is the first published case report of severe neurotoxicity in a patient who was given blinatumomab concurrently with intrathecal chemotherapy.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW This article reviews the spectrum of neurologic complications associated with lymphoma, leukemia, and paraproteinemic disorders. While leptomeningeal metastasis is the most common complication of lymphoma and leukemia and peripheral neuropathy is the most common complication of paraproteinemic disorders, clinicians need to be familiar with the diverse neurologic complications of these disorders. RECENT FINDINGS Lymphomatous nervous system involvement can be difficult to diagnose, especially when it is the presenting symptom. CSF cytology and flow cytometry, as well as the imaging pattern, assist in diagnosis. Neurologic complications are less common in Hodgkin lymphoma; however, some unique paraneoplastic syndromes are associated with Hodgkin lymphoma, including primary central nervous system angiitis, limbic encephalitis, and cerebellar degeneration. Recent reports suggest that anti-metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGluR5) antibodies are associated with limbic encephalitis and that anti-Tr antibodies are associated with cerebellar degeneration in Hodgkin lymphoma. Polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, monoclonal plasma cell disorder, and skin changes (POEMS) syndrome is often misdiagnosed as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). A lambda protein, thrombocytosis, and elevated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) can all be helpful clues in diagnosis. Early recognition is important, as the neuropathy responds to radiation therapy or chemotherapy. SUMMARY Neurologic involvement can occur throughout the disease course in lymphoma and leukemia, including at presentation, with systemic progression, and at relapse. In paraproteinemias, the peripheral neuropathy phenotype, monoclonal protein type, and associated autonomic and systemic features aid in identification of an underlying plasma cell disorder.

Abstract
Incidence and effect on outcome of central nervous system (CNS) involvement in adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is not clearly defined. To address this issue, 103 consecutive adult patients with newly diagnosed AML, regardless of neurologic symptoms, were submitted to a routine explorative lumbar puncture. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples were collected from 65 males and 38 females. All 103 CSF samples were examined by conventional cytology (CC) whereas 95 (92%) also by flow cytometry (FCM). At diagnosis, 70 patients (68%) were CNS negative (CNS-), whereas 33 (32%) were CNS positive (CNS+). In 11 of 33 (33%), CNS infiltration was documented either by CC or FCM , in 21 (67%) only by FCM. CNS positivity was significantly associated with a M4-M5 phenotype of the underlying AML (P = .0003) and with high levels of lactate dehydrogenase (P = .006). Overall, 80 of 103 (78%) achieved complete remission with no significant differences between CNS+ and CNS- patients. Five-year disease-free survival and overall survival were found to be shorter in CNS+ patients than in those CNS- (18% vs 50%, P = .006 and 19% vs 46%, P = .02, respectively). In multivariate analysis, CNS status and age were found to affect independently overall survival. In conclusion, the incidence of CNS involvement in adult patients with newly diagnosed AML is higher than expected. Regardless of neurologic symptoms, it should always be searched at diagnosis; CSF samples should routinely be investigated by FCM since a certain proportion of CNS involvements might remain undetected if examination is exclusively CC based.

Abstract
The present study aimed to characterize the specific pathology and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings observed in patients with leukemia with central nervous system (CNS) lesions, and to determine their value in the management of such patients. Lesions of the CNS were observed during and following treatment of leukemia. The data from stereotactic biopsy-proven pathology (12 patients) and MRI examinations (14 patients) were retrospectively evaluated. Proton-magnetic resonance-spectroscopy was performed in three patients. Factors that predisposed to lesions of the CNS were reviewed from the patient medical records. Among the 14 patients, eight had CNS leukemia, four had a CNS infection and two had a neurodegenerative disorder (one leukoencephalopathy and one glial cell hyperplasia). The clinical diagnosis based on clinical symptoms, signs and MRI features was not consistent with the pathological diagnosis in two patients. In one patient, the clinical diagnosis was a CNS infection; however, the patient's pathological diagnosis was CNS leukemia. In the other patient, the clinical diagnosis was CNS leukemia, but the pathological diagnosis was glial cell hyperplasia. CNS lesions in leukemia have a wide range of causes. Apart from the relapse of leukemia in the CNS, there are treatment-associated neurotoxicities and infections that are caused by immunocompromised states. As numerous leukemia-associated CNS lesions are treatable, early diagnosis is essential.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Acute and chronic leukemias are heterogeneous diseases and can affect any part of the body upon initial discovery. Understanding the sequela of systemic involvement is key for proper diagnosis and treatment. RECENT FINDINGS Over the decades, new research has emerged regarding neurological complications of the myeloid or lymphoid leukemias. Central nervous system involvement usually confers a poor prognosis and requires emergent treatment. Standard of care still involves systemic therapy, intrathecal administration of chemotherapeutic agents, and cranial radiation. Treatment-related side effects can occur and need to be recognized by any practitioner involved with patient care. It is imperative to understand neurologic complications from leukemia to prevent delays and initiate necessary treatment to maintain neurologic and cognitive function.

Abstract
Introduction Intrathecal administration of methotrexate, cytarabine, and hydrocortisone is commonly used to treat and prevent central nervous system involvement in leukemias and lymphomas. The use of intrathecal solutions with pH and osmolarity values close to physiologic range of CSF (pH 7.31–7.37, osmolarity 281–306 mOsm/kg) and standardization of the methotrexate, cytarabine, and hydrocortisone doses in children and adults based on age is highly recommended. Stability studies of standardized intrathecal mixtures under these conditions have not yet been published. Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical and chemical stabilities of four standardized mixtures of methotrexate, cytarabine, and hydrocortisone stored at 2–8℃ and 25℃ up to 7 days after preparation. Methods Four different standardized intrathecal mixtures were prepared and stored at 2–8℃ and 25℃ and protected from light. Triplicate samples were taken at different times and precipitation, appearance, color, pH, and osmolarity were analyzed. Methotrexate, cytarabine, and hydrocortisone concentrations were measured using a modified high-performance liquid chromatography method. Results No variation greater than 10% of the initial concentration of methotrexate, cytarabine, and hydrocortisone was observed in any of the four standardized mixtures for the 7 days of study when stored at 2–8℃ and 25℃ and protected from light. The osmolarity of the four preparations was within the physiologic range of CSF for 7 days at both 2–8℃ and 25℃. The pH values close to the physiologic range of CSF were stable for 48 h at 25℃ and for 120 h at 2–8℃. Conclusions Triple intrathecal standardized preparations of methotrexate, cytarabine, and hydrocortisone sodium phosphate are physically and chemically stable at 25℃ for 48 h and at 2–8℃ for 5 days.

Abstract
The long-term prognosis of adult patients with relapsed Philadelphia chromosome-negative acute lymphoblastic lymphoma (ALL) is poor. Allogeneic stem cell transplant in second remission is the only curative approach and is the goal when feasible. There is no standard chemotherapy regimen for relapsed disease, although a few agents are approved for use in this setting. The bispecific CD19-directed CD3 T-cell engager, blinatumomab, has recently been granted accelerated approval by the US Food and Drug Administration for relapsed or refractory disease of B-cell lineage. For patients with relapsed T-cell ALL, nelarabine is available. Liposomal vincristine is also approved for relapsed disease. When selecting combination chemotherapy salvage options, evaluation of the prior treatment and timing of relapse informs treatment decisions. Monoclonal and cellular investigational therapies are quite promising and should be explored in the appropriate patient.

Abstract
In adult patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), Central Nervous System (CNS) involvement is associated with a very poor prognosis. The diagnostic assessment of this condition relies on the use of neuroradiology, conventional cytology (CC) and flow cytometry (FCM). Among these approaches, which is the gold standard it is still a matter of debate. Neuroradiology and CC have a limited sensitivity with a higher rate of false negative results. FCM demonstrated a superior sensitivity over CC, particularly when low levels of CNS infiltrating cells are present. Although prospective studies of a large series of patients are still awaited, a positive finding by FCM appears to anticipate an adverse outcome even if CC shows no infiltration. Current strategies for adult ALL CNS-directed prophylaxis or therapy involve systemic and intrathecal chemotherapy and radiation therapy. An early and frequent intrathecal injection of cytostatic combined with systemic chemotherapy is the most effective strategy to reduce the frequency of CNS involvement. In patients with CNS overt ALL, at diagnosis or upon relapse, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation might be considered. This review discusses risk factors, diagnostic techniques for identification of CNS infiltration and modalities of prophylaxis and therapy to manage it.

Abstract
UNLABELLED OBJECTIVE/CONTEXT: To describe a distinctive clinical and radiographic pattern of myelopathy following intrathecal chemotherapy. Myelopathy is a rare complication of intrathecal chemotherapy used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). We present a 42-year-old female with T-cell ALL who developed a myelopathy primarily involving the dorsal columns. METHOD Case report and literature review. FINDINGS Within 24 hours of an injection of intrathecal methotrexate, cytarabine, and hydrocortisone, the patient developed ascending lower limb numbness and balance difficulties progressing to the inability to ambulate. Clinical examination showed profound loss of lower limb proprioception and light touch sensation below T5, mild proximal limb weakness, but preserved pinprick and temperature sensation with intact bowel and bladder function. Initial thoracic and lumbar spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at 1 week revealed no abnormalities. However, repeat imaging at 6 weeks showed abnormal signal in the posterior cord with sparing of the anterior and lateral columns, diffusely involving the lower cervical cord through the conus medullaris. Dermatomal somatosensory-evoked potential (DSEP) conduction abnormalities were consistent with thoracic myelopathy. An empiric trial of high-dose intravenous corticosteroids during inpatient rehabilitation more than 6 weeks later produced no significant clinical improvement. CONCLUSION/CLINICAL RELEVANCE Preferential and persistent dorsal column myelopathy is a distinctive clinical and radiographic presentation of a rare complication of intrathecal chemotherapy. The MRI abnormalities were initially absent, but evolved to consist of multi-level spinal cord T2 and STIR hyperintensity with regional gadolinium enhancement. DSEPs more accurately reflected the clinical level of spinal cord dysfunction.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Appropriate treatment of central nervous system (CNS) involvement in adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is important for patient prognosis, but the diagnostic criteria of CNS involvement has not been established. METHODS The significance of blast cells in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) at diagnosis was evaluated in 81 adults newly diagnosed with ALL. Patients with unequivocal morphologic evidence of lymphoblasts in the cytocentrifuged CSF slide were considered to have CNS involvement regardless of the leukocyte count. The outcomes of the patients were analyzed. RESULTS Four of the 81 patients (5%) had detectable blast cells, and three of these four patients had less than five leukocytes/μL of CSF. One-year event-free survival (EFS) was 25.0% and 53.2% (P = 0.008) and overall survival (OS) was 50.0% and 68.8% (P = 0.001) in patients with and without CNS involvement, respectively. CNS involvement had prognostic impact on EFS (P = 0.047) and OS (P = 0.009) after adjusting for sex, age, leukocyte count, Philadelphia chromosome status, and immunophenotype. CONCLUSION This study suggests that morphologic detection of blast cells in the CSF at diagnosis of adult ALL, regardless of the leukocyte count, is associated with adverse prognosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Clinical characteristics and outcomes of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) among adult patients with various hematological malignancies are limited. METHODS A total of 2,574 adult patients diagnosed with hematological malignancies admitted to a single university hospital were enrolled into this study between 2001 and 2010. The clinical characteristics, image reports and outcomes were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS A total of 72 patients (48 men and 24 women) with a median age of 56 (range 18 to 86) had an ICH. The overall ICH incidence was 2.8% among adult patients with hematological malignancies. The incidence of ICH was higher in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients than in patients with other hematological malignancies (6.3% vs 1.1%, P = 0.001). ICH was more common among patients with central nervous system (CNS) involvement of lymphoma than among patients with CNS involved acute leukemia (P <0.001). Sites of ICH occurrence included the cerebral cortex (60 patients, 83%), basal ganglia (13 patients, 18%), cerebellum (10 patients, 14%), and brainstem (5 patients, 7%). A total of 33 patients (46%) had multifocal hemorrhages. In all, 56 patients (77%) had intraparenchymal hemorrhage, 22 patients (31%) had subdural hemorrhage, 15 patients (21%) had subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and 3 patients (4%) had epidural hemorrhage. A total of 22 patients had 2 or more types of ICH. In all, 46 (64%) patients died of ICH within 30 days of diagnosis, irrespective of the type of hematological malignancy. Multivariate analysis revealed three independent prognostic factors: prolonged prothrombin time (P = 0.008), SAH (P = 0.021), and multifocal cerebral hemorrhage (P = 0.026). CONCLUSIONS The incidence of ICH in patients with AML is higher than patients with other hematological malignancies. But in those with intracranial malignant disease, patients with CNS involved lymphoma were more prone to ICH than patients with CNS involved acute leukemia. Mortality was similar regardless of the type of hematological malignancy. Neuroimaging studies of the location and type of ICH could assist with prognosis prediction for patients with hematological malignancies.
