Abstract
CONTEXT Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) has been reported to have anti-obesity and antidiabetic effects. However, the benefits of CLA combined with exercise remain unclear, and studies report conflicting results. OBJECTIVE A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to investigate the synergistic effect of CLA and exercise on body composition, exercise-related indices, insulin resistance, and lipid profiles; and of the safety of CLA supplements. DATA SOURCES In October 2021, the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for reports on clinical trials of the combined intervention of CLA and exercise. DATA EXTRACTION A total of 18 randomized controlled trials and 2 crossover trials were included. The methodological quality assessment was performed using the revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. Pooled effect sizes were reported as standardized mean difference (SMD) for continuous data and risk ratio for dichotomous data with their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Heterogeneity was tested using the I2 statistic. DATA ANALYSIS The combination of CLA and exercise resulted in significantly decreased body fat (SMD, -0.42 [95%CI, -0.70, -0.14]; P = 0.003; I2 = 65) and insulin resistance (SMD, -0.25 [95%CI, -0.44, -0.06]; P = 0.01; I2 = 0) than did exercise alone. In subgroup analysis, the following factors were associated with significant outcomes: (1) body mass index ≥25 kg/m2; (2) female sex; (3) follow-up time >4 weeks; and (4) intervention duration >4 weeks. Nevertheless, supplementation with CLA during exercise programs was not effective for body-weight control, exercise performance enhancement, or lipid-profile improvement. CLA in combination with exercise did not result in a higher risk of adverse events (risk ratio, 1.32 [95%CI, 0.94-1.84]; P > 0.05; I2 = 0). CONCLUSION CLA combined with exercise is generally safe and can lower body fat and insulin resistance but does not reduce body weight, enhance exercise performance, or improve lipid profiles.

Abstract
To improve the difficulties related to malnutrition, nutritional support has become an essential part of multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment for cancer. Lipids are essential nutrient source for the human body, and nowadays in clinical practices, it has a positive interventional effect on patients suffering from cancer. However, contribution of lipids in nutritional support of cancer patients is still poorly understood. Moreover, the sensory and physicochemical properties of lipids can severely restrict their applications in lipid-rich formula foods. In this review article, for the first time, we have presented a summary of the existing studies which were related to the associations between different lipids and improved malnutrition in cancer patients and discussed possible mechanisms. Subsequently, we discussed the challenges and effective solutions during processing of lipids into formula foods. Further, by considering existing problems in current lipid nutritional support, we proposed a novel method for the treatment of malnutrition, including developing individualized lipid nutrition for different patients depending on the individual's genotype and enterotype. Nonetheless, this review study provides a new direction for future research on nutritional support and the development of lipid-rich formula foods for cancer patients, and probably will help to improve the efficacy of lipids in the treatment of cancer malnutrition.

Abstract
Background Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) or laryngeal papillomatosis is a disease caused by papillomavirus infection. Methods In this phase I/II clinical trial, we evaluated the efficacy of the modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA) E2 virus in the treatment of RRP. Twenty‐nine patients (18 female and 11 male) underwent injection of MVA E2 directly into the borders of the vocal cords where lesions were seen and were monitored by direct laryngoscopy. The immune response was assessed by the determination of CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+ lymphocytes counts. The presence of papillomavirus was determined by polymerase chain reaction analysis. Results Lesions were completely eliminated in 13 patients (44.8%). In 16 patients (55.2%), lesions recurred between 6 and 18 months after treatment; these patients received a second round of treatment with MVA E2, and they are not seen with new recurrences. Conclusion The MVA E2 vaccine has excellent potential for generating complete regression of RRP lesions.

Abstract
Adipose-tissue derived mesenchymal stem cell (ADSC)-based therapy is a promising option for patients with atherosclerotic conditions, including coronary artery disease. However, the potential differences in the metabolic characteristics between bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and ADSCs have remained to be fully elucidated. The present study aimed to compare the metabolic profiles of BMSCs and ADSCs via liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. BMSCs and ADSCs obtained from elderly coronary heart disease patients were cultured, and after three passages, supernatants of each cell type were collected and systematically analysed. Substantial differences were detected between the metabolite signatures of ADSCs and BMSCs. In addition, further analysis using partial least-squares discriminant analysis score plots indicated significant differences between the supernatants of the two cell types. The following metabolites were deemed to be responsible for the potential differences in the metabolic characteristics of BMSCs and ADSCs: D-lactic acid, hydroxyindoleacetaldehyde, α-D-glucose, bovinic acid, 9,10-epoxyoctadecenoic acid, glyceraldehyde, phenylpyruvic acid, L-octanoylcarnitine, retinyl ester, α-ketoisovaleric acid, guanidoacetic acid, N-acetylneuraminic acid, imidazoleacetic acid riboside, sphingosine and pseudouridine 5′-phosphate. Based on these findings, there may be significant differences in the following metabolic pathways: The linoleic acid metabolic pathway, galactose metabolism, argentines and proline metabolism, retinol metabolism, glycine and serine metabolism, galactose metabolism, and amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism. In conclusion, substantial differences in metabolic characteristics were detected between BMSCs and ADSCs, which may be associated with the different efficacies of atherosclerosis therapies employing these cell types.

Abstract
Papillomaviruses are members of the Papillomaviridae family. Over 150 HPV types have been identified. Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is a chronic condition caused by HPV characterized by recurrent papillomas of the respiratory tract, mainly the larynx. During the early stages, the condition presents with hoarseness, while more advanced disease presents with stridor and respiratory distress. There is no specific cure and treatment consists of repeated surgical procedures to remove the papillomas. Most patients eventually go into remission, but some suffer for many years with this condition, which may be fatal. HPV-6 and HPV-11 are the HPV types most commonly associated with RRP. Although most studies have found RRP due to HPV-11 to be more aggressive than disease due to HPV-6, the variability in disease aggressiveness is probably multifactorial. Information regarding the current epidemiology, molecular diversity and host immune responses is important for strategizing ways to reduce disease. Data on HPV genotypes associated with RRP would provide valuable information for vaccination programs to reduce the incidence of these genotypes in mothers and, in the long term, reduce the incidence of RRP in children. This review focuses on HPV-6 and HPV-11 as the HPV types that cause RRP, and discusses the viral genome and replication, clinical presentation of RRP, current techniques of diagnosis and genotyping, and the molecular diversity of HPV-6 and HPV-11.
