Abstract
Sweet bell pepper (SBP, Capsicum annuum L.) can be employed as a spice in many dishes and may also be eaten as a delicious fruit. These two nutritional attributes are owing to the strong, deep taste of many SBP phytochemicals. This fruit has many additional beneficial properties because it contains high concentrations of minerals and vitamins that distinguish it from other kinds of fruits. Almost every part of the SBP is thought to be an excellent source of bioactive substances that are health supporters, such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and various aromatic substances. The ability of SBP-phytochemicals to work as antioxidants, reducing the harmful effects of oxidative stress and consequently preventing many chronic illnesses, is one of their main biomedical characteristics. These phytochemicals have good antibacterial properties, mostly against gram-positive pathogenic microbes, in addition to their anti-carcinogenic and cardio-preventive effects. So, this review aims to highlight the nutritional qualities of SBP-derived phytochemicals and their illness-alleviated characteristics. Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antidiabetic, and analgesic properties are some of the ones discussed.

Abstract
Heterocycle conjugates provide a fresh investigative scope to find novel molecules with enhanced phytotherapeutic characteristics. Coumarin-based products are widely used in the synthesis of several compounds with biological and medicinal properties since they are naturally occurring heterocycles with a broad dispersion. The investigation of coumarin-based phytochemicals with annulated heterocyclic rings is a promising approach to discovering novel conjugates with significant phytotherapeutic attributes. Due to the applicable coumarin extraction processes, a range of linear coumarin-heterocyclic conjugates were isolated from different natural resources and exhibited remarkable therapeutic efficacy. This review highlights the phytotherapeutic potential and origins of various natural linear coumarin-heterocyclic conjugates. We searched several databases, including Science Direct, Web of Science, Springer, Google Scholar, and PubMed. After sieving, we ultimately identified and included 118 pertinent studies published between 2000 and the middle of 2023. This will inspire medicinal chemists with extremely insightful ideas for designing and synthesizing therapeutically active lead compounds in the future that are built on the pharmacophores of coumarin-heterocyclic conjugates and have significant therapeutic attributes.

Abstract
For the first time, kinetic thermomagnetic extraction is a novel approach presented in this work. It required the application of four distinct variables: rotation speed (50, 75, and 100 rpm), magnetic field (0.8, 1.2, and 1.6 T), time interval (30, 60, and 90 min), and temperature (45, 55, and 65 °C). Numerous phytochemical categories were detected in the 81 crude chloroform extracts of green sweet bell pepper seeds that were collected, according to phytochemical analysis. Nine extracts were discovered to be linked to the coumarin chemical class and to have the same two extraction parameters: a 90-minute extraction duration and a 55 °C extraction temperature. To enable their coumarin contents to be chemically separated and chromatographically purified, two of these extracts containing coumarin were chosen. Four new phytocoumarins have been identified and their molecular structures distinguished using FTIR spectra, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and mass analysis. By using MTT probing, it was discovered that these phytocoumarins exhibited anticancer activities against eight malignant populations and reduced oxidative stress in human SH-SY5Y populations. Similarly, the anti-inflammatory and antidiabetic properties were determined using three and two associated enzymes, respectively. The results demonstrated that the extracted phytocoumarins have exceptional oxidative stress-mitigating characteristics, ranging from 71.51 to 81.48 %, when compared to a positive control. Furthermore, they showed excellent cytotoxicity against the test malignant populations (IC50 values of 46.76-81.45 μg/ml). The isolates need to be taken into account as dual COX-2/5-LOX antagonists because they also showed a fascinating selective anti-inflammatory effect. The phytocoumarins under investigation have selectivity indices that are higher than those of the standards used, suggesting that they may have the ability to selectively block the COX2 enzyme that induces harmful inflammation. Compared to the standards, the phytocoumarins have a higher ability to block the catalytic activity of 5-LOX. This observation suggests that the phytocoumarins are powerful 5-LOX agents. Finally, they had a modest antidiabetic impact when tested against two blood-controlling enzymes. The authors came to the conclusion that the technique adopted is flexible and successful for extraction after modifying its components. Moreover, isolated phytocoumarins in general and natural-B1 in particular provide naturally derived solutions for oxidative stress and its associated diseases.

Abstract
Plant-derived coumarin (PDC) is a naturally occurring heterocyclic backbone that belongs to the benzopyrone family. PDC and its based products are characterized by low toxicity and high distribution in a variety of herbal treatments that have numerous therapeutic potentials. These include anticoagulants, antibacterials, anti-inflammatory agents, anticancer agents, antioxidants, and others. So, it may be appropriate to investigate the qualities and potential bioactivities of PDCs. This article provides an overview of the biomedical potentials, availability, and clinical use possibilities of PDCs, with a focus on their important modes of action, using information on various pharmacological qualities discovered. The data used in this study came from published research between 2015 and 2023. We reviewed a selection of databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, during that period. In conclusion, because of their abundance in medicinal plants, the clinical biochemistry attributes of PDCs are currently of interest. In a variety of medical specialties, PDCs serve a useful role as therapeutic agents.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Asprosin, a newly identified adipokine, is pathologically increased in type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study is to see whether serum asprosin concentrations are linked to diabetes mellitus-induced erectile dysfunction (DMED). METHODS 90 male patients with type 2 diabetes were included. According to the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) score, they were classified into two groups: 45 type 2 diabetes patients without erectile dysfunction (DM group) (IIEF-5 > 21),45 patients with diabetes induced erectile dysfunction (DMED group) (IIEF-5 ≤ 21)0.45 healthy male volunteers with normal blood glucose, IIEF-5 score > 21 points, and age matched with the DMED group were included as the control group. Anthropometric and biochemical variables were determined in all participants. RESULTS When compared to the controls, T2DM ( Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus)patients had higher serum asprosin levels. The DMED group had significantly higher serum asprosin than the T2DM groups(p < 0.001). After adjusting for multiple variables considered traditional risk factors for ED(erectile dysfunction), Asprosin can still be used as an independent risk factor for ED; The ROC(Receive Operating Characteristic Curve) indicates that asprosin has good sensitivity (97.8%) and specificity (62.2%) in predicting ED, with an area under the curve of 0.843.Correlation analysis shows that asprosin is negatively correlated with SOD(superoxide dismutase ) and positively correlated with MDA (malondialdehyde). CONCLUSION Serum asprosin concentrations are increased in patients with DMED. Also, asprosin is correlated with oxidative stress indexes (MDA, SOD).

Abstract
The production of harmful free radicals (H-FRs), especially those with oxygen or nitrogen atoms, depends on both internal and environmental causes. The negative effects of H-FRs are greatly alleviated by antioxidant protection. The harmful impact of oxidative stress, or OS, is brought on by a disparity between the defense mechanisms of the body and the creation of H-FRs. Aging is characterized by a slow decline in tissue and organ competence. Age-mediated pathologies start as an aberrant accumulation of H-FRs, which inhibit cells' capacity to divide, repair, and operate, based on the OS theorem of aging. The natural outcome of this situation is apoptosis. These conditions may include skeletal muscle dysfunction, cancer, cardiovascular, chronic hepatitis, chronic renal, and chronic pulmonary disorders. Given the substantial role that OS plays in the progression of many of these illnesses, antioxidant-based therapy may have a favorable impact on how these diseases progress. To ascertain the true efficacy of this therapy strategy, more research is necessary. The aim of this study is to provide an overview of the literature on this challenging issue that is attracting interest.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Kidney stones (KSs), in fact, have been considered one of the most ancient and prevalent medical conditions that impact a significant number of human beings all around the world. Such stones can range greatly in size and can be detected in any part of the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, or bladder itself. The development of stones is caused by the mineral's crystallization, which then interacts with each other and adheres together. Kidney stone formation can represent a prime medical condition for which there are numerous therapies available, among them natural ones. Recurrence of stones after curing is very common, and strategies available to prevent their reoccurrence or even their development for the first time are numerous, with enhanced fluid consumption or avoiding dehydration being the most important one. OBJECTIVE The current review article aims to draw attention to the potential of natural remedies besides lifestyle modification in the management and prevention of KSs. This is not arbitrary but based on real, documented scientific evidence. METHOD The natural remedies mentioned in the context of this manuscript were chosen for their availability in almost all nations, or perhaps even in every home. RESULTS The findings of the present article are very promising and exhibit the potential benefit of natural remedies in addition to shifting to a healthy lifestyle in both the treatment and prevention of KSs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Prenatal exposure to particulate matter (PM) and traffic was associated with the programming of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in early life. However, the exact underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the association between in-utero exposure to PMs and traffic indicators with the atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) in newborns, which is a precise index reflecting an enhancement of lipid risk factors for CVDs. METHODS In this cross-sectional study, a total of 300 mother-newborn pairs were enrolled in Sabzevar, Iran. Spatiotemporal land-use regression models were used to estimate the level of PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 at the mother's residential address. The total length of streets in different buffers (100,300 and 500m) and proximity to major roads were calculated as indicators of traffic. The AIP of cord blood samples was calculated using an AIP calculator. Multiple linear regression models were used to examine the association of PM concentrations as well as traffic indicators with AIP controlled for relevant covariates. RESULTS PM2.5 exposure was significantly associated with higher levels of AIP in newborns. Each interquartile range (IQR) increment of PM2.5 concentration at the mothers' residential addresses was associated with a 5.3% (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.0, 10.6%, P = 0.04) increase in the AIP. Associations between PM1, PM10 and traffic indicators with cord blood level of AIP were positive but not statistically significant. CONCLUSION Our findings showed that in utero exposure to PM2.5 may be associated with CVDs programming through the increase of atherogenic lipids.

Abstract
Fibrillin-1 is a major component of the extracellular microfibrils, where it interacts with other extracellular matrix proteins to provide elasticity to connective tissues, and regulates the bioavailability of TGFβ family members. A peptide consisting of the C-terminal 140 amino acids of fibrillin-1 has recently been identified as a glucogenic hormone, secreted from adipose tissue during fasting and targeting the liver to release glucose. This fragment, called asprosin, also signals in the hypothalamus to stimulate appetite. Asprosin levels are correlated with many of the pathologies indicative of metabolic syndrome, including insulin resistance and obesity. Previous studies and reviews have addressed the therapeutic potential of asprosin as a target in obesity, diabetes and related conditions without considering mechanisms underlying the relationship between generation of asprosin and expression of the much larger fibrillin-1 protein. Profibrillin-1 undergoes obligatory cleavage at the cell surface as part of its assembly into microfibrils, producing the asprosin peptide as well as mature fibrillin-1. Patterns of FBN1 mRNA expression are inconsistent with the necessity for regulated release of asprosin. The asprosin peptide may be protected from degradation in adipose tissue. We present evidence for an alternative possibility, that asprosin mRNA is generated independently from an internal promoter within the 3' end of the FBN1 gene, which would allow for regulation independent of fibrillin-synthesis and is more economical of cellular resources. The discovery of asprosin opened exciting possibilities for treatment of metabolic syndrome related conditions, but there is much to be understood before such therapies could be introduced into the clinic.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hyperlipidemia is a common risk factor for atherosclerosis, heart diseases, and other pathological conditions. The factors leading to the oxidation of native low-density lipoproteins remain of valuable importance for a better understanding of the mechanisms leading to these pathologies. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between lipid status and the levels of oxidized low-density lipoproteins and 8-hydroxy-2´-deoxyguanosine. METHODS One hundred and fourteen participants were enrolled. Lipid profile parameters were measured and used individually to categorize subjects into two groups of normal and hyperlipidemic cases according to the international reference ranges. Oxidized low-density lipoproteins and 8-hydroxy-2´-deoxyguanosine were then compared in normal and high lipid profile groups. The obtained results were then statistically analyzed. RESULTS 8-Hydroxy-2´-deoxyguanosine was found to be positively correlated with hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and high levels of low-density lipoproteins (r = 0.53, 0.41, and 0.60), respectively (p<0.001). A positive correlation was observed also between the levels of oxidized low-density lipoproteins and the same lipid profile parameters (r = 0.42, 0.31, and 0.45), respectively (p<0.001). CONCLUSION The present study suggests that disturbance in lipid profile may result in increased levels of oxidized low-density lipoproteins and oxidative stress in the study group; however, a larger sample is needed to confirm the present findings.

Synergistic effect of Si-doping and Fe2O3-encapsulation on drug delivery and sensor applications of γ-graphyne nanotube toward favipiravir as an antiviral for COVID-19: A DFT study. Abstract
In this work, the behavior of favipiravir (FAV) adsorption on the pristine (2,2) graphyne-based γ-nanotube (GYNT) was theoretically studied. Also, the Si-doped form (Si-GYNT) and its composite with encapsulated Fe2O3 (Fe2O3@Si-GYNT) were investigated within density functional theory (DFT) calculations, using M05 functionals and B3LYP. It was found that FAV is weakly to moderately adsorb on the bare GYNT and Si-GYNT tube, releasing the energy of 2.2 to 19.8 kcal/mol. After FAV adsorption, the bare tube's electronic properties are changed. Localized impurity is induced at the valence and conduction levels by encapsulating a tiny Fe2O3 cluster. As such, the target composite becomes a magnetic material. The binding energy between the Fe2O3@Si-GYNT and the FAV molecule becomes substantially stronger (Ead = -25.2 kcal/mol). We developed a drug release system in target parts of body, during protonation in the low pH of injured cells, detaching the FAV from the tube surface. The drug's reaction mechanism with Fe2O3@Si-GYNT shifts from covalence in the normal environment to hydrogen bonding in an acidic matrix. The optimized structure's natural bond orbital, quantum molecular descriptors, LUMO, HOMO and energy gap were also investigated. The recovery time can be reduced to less than 10 s by increasing the working temperature properly during the experimental test.

Abstract
This paper focused on the efficiency of carbon nitride nanotubes functionalized with alanine amino acid (f-C3NNTs) in thiotepa (TPA) anti-cancerous drug delivery via density functional theory (DFT). Pristine C3NNTs were incorporated for comparison. TPA was found to spontaneously undergo exothermic adsorption onto the nanostructures. The f-C3NNT/TPA complexes showed the highest interaction strength. The adsorption distance of TPA was found to be smaller, with a greater adsorption capacity and solubility on the f-C3NNT surface than on the pristine C3NNT surface. As they were polar, all the complexes were concluded to be insoluble within an aqueous phase. The quantum molecular descriptors revealed the f-C3NNT nanocarriers to be more reactive than the C3NNT carrier. The drug was found to spontaneously and exothermically interact with f-C3NNT. As a result, f-C3NNT would be promising for TPA adsorption in drug delivery applications.
