Abstract
Background and Purpose Intravoxel-incoherent-motion (IVIM) magnetic-resonance-imaging (MRI) and positron-emission-tomography (PET) have been investigated independently but not voxel-wise to evaluate tumor microenvironment in cervical carcinoma patients. Whether regionally combined information of IVIM and PET offers additional predictive benefit over each modality independently has not been explored. Here, we investigated parametric-response-mapping (PRM) of co-registered PET and IVIM in cervical cancer patients to identify sub-volumes that may predict tumor shrinkage to concurrent-chemoradiation-therapy (CCRT). Materials and Methods Twenty cervical cancer patients (age: 63[41-85]) were retrospectively evaluated. Diffusion-weighted-images (DWIs) were acquired on 3.0 T MRIs using a free-breathing single-shot-spin echo-planar-imaging (EPI) sequence. Pre- and on-treatment (∼after four-weeks of CCRT) MRI and pre-treatment FDG-PET/CT were acquired. IVIM model-fitting on the DWIs was performed using a Bayesian-fitting simplified two-compartment model. Three-dimensional rigidly-registered maps of PET/CT standardized-uptake-value (SUV) and IVIM diffusion-coefficient (D) and perfusion-fraction (f) were generated. Population-means of PET-SUV, IVIM-D and IVIM-f from pre-treatment-scans were calculated and used to generate PRM via a voxel-wise joint-histogram-analysis to classify voxels as high/low metabolic-activity and with high/low (hi/lo) cellular-density. Similar PRM maps were generated for SUV and f. Results Tumor-volume (p < 0.001) significantly decreased, while IVIM-f (p = 0.002) and IVIM-D (p = 0.03) significantly increased on-treatment. Pre-treatment tumor-volume (r = -0.45,p = 0.04) and PRM-SUVhi D lo (r = -0.65,p = 0.002) negatively correlated with ΔGTV, while pre-treatment IVIM-D (r = 0.64,p = 0.002), PRM-SUVlo f hi (r = 0.52,p = 0.02), and PRM-SUVlo D hi (r = 0.74,p < 0.001) positively correlated with ΔGTV. Conclusion IVIM and PET was performed on cervical cancer patients undergoing CCRT and we observed that both IVIM-f and IVIM-D increased during treatment. Additionally, PRM was applied, and sub-volumes were identified that were related to ΔGTV.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The literature is inconsistent on the prevalence and risk factors of urinary retention in patients with cervical cancer. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to review the literature on the prevalence of urinary retention in patients with cervical cancer and consolidate the risk factors. METHODS For this meta-analysis, eligible articles published in English or Chinese by December 10, 2021, were systematically searched for and retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Ovid-Embase Medline, Web of Science, PsycINFO, CINAHL, and Scopus. Prevalence, odds ratios (ORs), and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used for meta-analysis. RESULTS Twenty-five studies were included in the analysis. The pooled overall prevalence was 0.26 (95% CI, 0.21-0.30, I2 = 95.0%). The identified risk factors were age (OR, 1.13; 95% CI, 1.08-1.19), urinary tract infection (UTI) (OR, 3.33; 95% CI, 1.48-7.49), surgical extent (OR, 2.95; 95% CI, 1.27-6.85), and catheter indwelling time (OR, 3.44; 95% CI, 2.43-3.87). CONCLUSIONS The prevalence of urinary retention in patients with cervical cancer is 0.26. Older age, UTI, longer catheter indwelling time, and a larger surgical extent may increase the risk of urinary retention. Clinicians should identify patients at risk and adopt interventions such as individualized catheter care. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE Nursing staff should assess the risk of urinary retention in a patient with cervical cancer according to her age, presence of UTI, surgical extent, and catheterization time. A carefully chosen surgical procedure and interventions such as individualized education, timely catheter removal, treatment of UTI, and rehabilitation should be offered.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is an urgent need to find a reliable and effective imaging method to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of immunochemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study aimed to investigate the capability of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) and diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) histogram analysis based on different region of interest (ROI) selection methods for predicting treatment response to chemoimmunotherapy in advanced NSCLC. METHODS Seventy-two stage III or IV NSCLC patients who received chemoimmunotherapy were enrolled in this study. IVIM and DKI were performed before treatment. The patients were classified as responders group and non-responders group according to the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors 1.1. The histogram parameters of ADC, Dslow, Dfast, f, Dk and K were measured using whole tumor volume ROI and single slice ROI analysis methods. Variables with statistical differences would be included in stepwise logistic regression analysis to determine independent parameters, by which the combined model was also established. And the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) were used to evaluate the prediction performance of histogram parameters and the combined model. RESULTS ADC, Dslow, Dk histogram metrics were significantly lower in the responders group than in the non-responders group, while the histogram parameters of f were significantly higher in the responders group than in the non-responders group (all P < 0.05). The mean value of each parameter was better than or equivalent to other histogram metrics, where the mean value of f obtained from whole tumor and single slice both had the highest AUC (AUC = 0.886 and 0.812, respectively) compared to other single parameters. The combined model improved the diagnostic efficiency with an AUC of 0.968 (whole tumor) and 0.893 (single slice), respectively. CONCLUSIONS Whole tumor volume ROI demonstrated better diagnostic ability than single slice ROI analysis, which indicated whole tumor histogram analysis of IVIM and DKI hold greater potential than single slice ROI analysis to be a promising tool of predicting therapeutic response to chemoimmunotherapy in advanced NSCLC at initial state.

Abstract
Early prediction of radiation response by imaging is a dynamic field of research and it can be obtained using a variety of noninvasive magnetic resonance imaging methods. Recently, intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) has gained interest in cancer imaging. IVIM carries both diffusion and perfusion information, making it a promising tool to assess tumor response. Here, we briefly introduced the basics of IVIM, reviewed existing studies of IVIM in various type of tumors during radiotherapy in order to show whether IVIM is a useful technique for an early assessment of radiation response. 31/40 studies reported an increase of IVIM parameters during radiotherapy compared to baseline. In 27 studies, this increase was higher in patients with good response to radiotherapy. Future directions including implementation of IVIM on MR-Linac and its limitation are discussed. Obtaining new radiologic biomarkers of radiotherapy response could open the way for a more personalized, biology-guided radiation therapy.

Abstract
AIM To determine the associations of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) parameters with expression of programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) and programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1), and evaluate the performance of the combined model established based on IVIM and clinicopathological parameters in predicting PD-L1and PD-1 status of cervical cancer (CC) patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy-eight consecutive CC patients were enrolled prospectively and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) including IVIM. IVIM quantitative parameters were measured, compared, and correlated with PD-L1 and PD-1 expression. Independent factors related to PD-L1 and PD-1 positivity were identified and were used to establish the combined model. The combined model's diagnostic performance was evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. The Shapley additive explanation (SHAP) algorithm was used to explain the contribution of each parameter in the combined model. RESULTS The real diffusion coefficient (D) value was significantly lower in the PD-L1-positive group than in the PD-L1-negative group (0.64 ± 0.12 versus 0.72 ± 0.11, p=0.021). The PD-1-positive and PD-1-negative groups showed similar trends (0.63 ± 0.13 versus 0.73 ± 0.09, p=0.003). Parametrial invasion, lymph node status, pathological grade, FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) staging, and D values were independently associated with PD-L1 and PD-1expression. A combined model incorporating these parameters showed good discrimination with the sensitivity, specificity of 90.9%, 82.6% for PD-L1, and 93.5%, 72% for PD-1. According to the SHAP value, FIGO staging and pathological grade were the most influential features of the prediction model. CONCLUSION IVIM parameters were found to correlate with PD-L1 and PD-1 expression. The combined model, incorporating parametrial invasion, lymph node status, pathological grade, FIGO staging, and D values, showed good discrimination in predicting PD-L1 and PD-1 status, providing the basis for CC immunotherapy.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the predictive power of mono-exponential, bi-exponential, and stretched exponential signal models of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) in prognosis and survival risk of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LHSCC) patients after chemoradiotherapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-five patients with laryngeal or hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma were retrospectively enrolled. All patients had undergone pretreatment IVIM examination, subsequently, mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADCmean), maximum ADC (ADCmax), minimum ADC (ADCmin) and ADCrange (ADCmax - ADCmean) by mono-exponential model, true diffusion coefficient (D), pseudo diffusion coefficient (D*), perfusion fraction (f) by bi-exponential model, distributed diffusion coefficient (DDC), and diffusion heterogeneity index (α) by stretched exponential model were measured. Survival data were collected for 5 years. RESULTS Thirty-one cases were in the treatment failure group and fourteen cases were in the local control group. Significantly lower ADCmean, ADCmax, ADCmin, D, f, and higher D* values were observed in the treatment failure group than in the local control group (p < 0.05). D* had the greatest AUC of 0.802, with sensitivity and specificity of 77.4 and 85.7% when D* was 38.85 × 10-3 mm2/s. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the curves of N stage, ADCmean, ADCmax, ADCmin, D, D*, f, DDC, and α values were significant. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed ADCmean and D* were independently correlated with progression-free survival (PFS) (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.125, p = 0.001; HR = 1.008, p = 0.002, respectively). CONCLUSION The pretreatment parameters of mono-exponential and bi-exponential models were significantly correlated with prognosis of LHSCC, ADCmean and D* values were independent factors for survival risk prediction.

Abstract
Background To understand the pathological correlations of multi-b-value diffusion-weighted imaging (MDWI) stretched-exponential model (SEM) parameters of α and diffusion distribution index (DDC) in patients with glioma. SEM parameters, as promising biomarkers, played an important role in histologically grading gliomas. Methods Biopsy specimens were grouped as high-grade glioma (HGG) or low-grade glioma (LGG). MDWI-SEM parametric mapping of DDC1500, α1500 fitted by 15 b-values (0-1,500 sec/mm2)and DDC5000 and α5000 fitted by 22 b-values (0-5,000 sec/mm2) were matched with pathological samples (stained by MIB-1 and CD34) by coregistered localized biopsies, and all SEM parameters were correlated with these pathological indices pMIB-1(percentage of MIB-1 expression positive rate) and CD34-MVD (CD34 expression positive microvascular density for each specimen). The two-tailed Spearman's correlation was calculated for pathological indexes and SEM parameters, as well as WHO grades and SEM parameters. Results MDWI-derived α1500 negatively correlated with CD34-MVD in both LGG (6 specimens) and HGG (26 specimens) (r=-0.437, P =0.012). MDWI-derived DDC1500 and DDC5000 negatively correlated with MIB-1 expression in all glioma patients (P<0.05). WHO grades negatively correlated with α1500(r=-0.485; P=0.005) and α5000(r=-0.395; P=0.025). Conclusions SEM-derived DDC and α are significant in histologically grading gliomas, DDC may indicate the proliferative ability, and CD34 stained microvascular perfusion may be an important determinant of water diffusion inhomogeneity α in glioma.

Abstract
Cervical cancer (CC) is the fourth leading cause of death in women worldwide and despite the introduction of screening programs about 30% of patients presents advanced disease at diagnosis and 30-50% of them relapse in the first 5-years after treatment. According to FIGO staging system 2018, stage IB3-IVA are classified as locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC); its correct therapeutic choice remains still controversial and includes neoadjuvant chemo-radiotherapy, external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, hysterectomy or a combination of these modalities. In this review we focus on the most appropriated therapeutic options for LACC and imaging protocols used for its correct follow-up. We explore the imaging findings after radiotherapy and surgery and discuss the role of imaging in evaluating the response rate to treatment, selecting patients for salvage surgery and evaluating recurrence of disease. We also introduce and evaluate the advances of the emerging imaging techniques mainly represented by spectroscopy, PET-MRI, and radiomics which have improved diagnostic accuracy and are approaching to future direction.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the clinical value of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with mono-exponential (ME), bi-exponential (BE), and stretched-exponential (SE) models for predicting rectal adenomas with canceration. MATERIAL AND METHODS Sixty patients with postoperative pathology-confirmed rectal adenoma (n = 31) and adenoma with canceration (n = 29) were enrolled and underwent IVIM-DWI scanning. The ME-derived apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), BE-derived true diffusion coefficient (D), pseudo-diffusion coefficient (D*), perfusion fraction (f), SE-derived distributed diffusion coefficient (DDC), and water molecular diffusion heterogeneity index (α) were measured. The differences in each parameter between adenoma and canceration were compared. Multivariate binary logistic regression analysis was used to establish models for predicting rectal adenomas with canceration. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was applied to evaluate diagnostic performances of each model in terms of sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and area under the curve (AUC). RESULTS The AUCs of ADC, D, D*, f, DDC and α were 0.851 (95 % confidence interval, CI, 0.735-0.930), 0.895 (95 % CI, 0.789-0.960), 0.720 (95 % CI, 0.589-0.828), 0.791 (95 % CI, 0.667-0.886), 0.841 (95 % CI, 0.724-0.923) and 0.738 (95 % CI, 0.608-0.834), respectively. The AUCs of BE and SE models were 0.927 (95 % CI, 0.829-0.978) and 0.874 (95 % CI, 0.763-0.946), respectively. The AUC, sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the derived four values (ADC, D, f, and DDC) from the combination of three models were 0.950, 96.6 % (95 % CI, 95.3-97.6 %), 80.6 % (95 % CI, 78.0-82.9 %), and 88.3 % (95 % CI, 86.2-90.2 %), respectively. CONCLUSION ADC can easily and effectively predict rectal adenomas with canceration. The BE model has a better combination of sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of rectal adenoma canceration.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine whether quantitative parameters obtained from intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) model at baseline magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) correlate with histological parameters and response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). Methods: Twenty patients with biopsy-proven cervical cancer, staged as LACC on baseline MRI and addressed for neoadjuvant chemotherapy were enrolled. At treatment completion, tumor response was assessed with a follow-up MRI evaluated using the revised response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (RECIST; version 1.1), and patients were considered good responders (GR) if they had complete response or partial remission, and poor responders/non-responders (PR/NR) if they had stable or progressive disease. MRI protocol included conventional diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI; b = 0 and 1000 s/mm2) and IVIM acquisition using eight b-values (range: 0–1500 s/mm2). MR-images were analyzed using a dedicated software to obtain quantitative parameters: diffusion (D), pseudo-diffusion (D*), and perfusion fraction (fp) from the IVIM model; apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) from conventional DWI. Histologic subtype, grading, and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) were assessed in each LACC. Results: D showed significantly higher values in GR patients (p = 0.001) and in moderate/high TILs (p = 0.018). Fp showed significantly higher values in squamous cell tumors (p = 0.006). Conclusions: D extracted from the IVIM model could represent a promising tool to identify tumor aggressiveness and predict response to therapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To examine the associations of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) parameters with treatment response in cervical cancer following concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-five patients, median age of 58 years (range: 28-82), with pre-CCRT and post-CCRT MRI, were retrospectively analysed. The IVIM parameters pure diffusion coefficient (D) and perfusion fraction (f) were estimated using the full b-value distribution (BVD) as well as an optimised subsample BVD. Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) were used to measure observer repeatability in tumour delineation at both time points. Treatment response was determined by the response evaluation criteria in solid tumour (RECIST) 1.1 between MRI examinations. Mann-Whitney U tests were used to test for significant differences in IVIM parameters between treatment response groups. RESULTS Pre-CCRT tumour delineation repeatability was good (DSC = 0.81) while post-CCRT delineation repeatability was moderate (DSC = 0.67). Values of D and f had good repeatability at both time points (ICC > 0.80). Pre-CCRT f estimated using the full BVD and optimised subsample BVD were found to be significantly higher in patients with partial response compared to those with stable disease or disease progression (p = 0.01 and 95% CI = -0.02-0.00 for both cases). CONCLUSION Pre-CCRT f was associated with treatment response in cervical cancer with good observer repeatability. Similar discriminative ability was also observed in estimated pre-CCRT f from an optimised subsample BVD. KEY POINTS • Pre-treatment tumour delineation and IVIM parameters had good observer repeatability. • Post-treatment tumour delineation was worse than at pre-treatment, but IVIM parameters retained good ICC. • Pre-treatment perfusion fraction estimated from all b-values and an optimised subsample of b-values were associated with treatment response.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to investigate the prediction of early response to concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) through a combination of pretreatment multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with clinical prognostic factors (CPF) in cervical cancer patients. METHODS Eighty-five patients with pathologically confirmed cervical cancer underwent conventional MRI, intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI), and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) before CCRT. The patients were divided into non- and residual tumor groups according to post-treatment MRI. Univariable and multivariable analyses were performed to pretreatment MRI parameters and CPF between the two groups, and optimal thresholds and predictive performance for post-treatment residual tumor occurrence were estimated by drawing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. RESULTS There were 52 patients in non- and 33 in residual group. The residual group showed a lower perfusion fraction (f) value and volume transfer constant (Ktrans) value, a higher apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value, diffusion coefficient (D) value and volume fraction of extravascular extracellular space (Ve) value, and a higher stage than the non-residual tumor group (all P < .05). D, Ktrans, Ve and stage were independent prognostic factors. The combination of D, Ktrans and Ve improved the diagnostic performance compared with individual MRI parameters. A further combination of these three MRI parameters with stage exhibited the highest predictive performance. CONCLUSIONS Pretreatment D, Ktrans, Ve and stage were independent prognostic factors for cervical cancer. The predictive capacity of multi-parametric MRI was superior to individual MRI parameters. The combination of multi-parametric MRI with CPF further improved the predictive performance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To testify whether multi-b-values diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) can be used to ultra-early predict treatment response of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in cervical cancer patients and to assess the predictive ability of concerning parameters. METHODS Fifty-three patients with biopsy proved cervical cancer were retrospectively recruited in this study. All patients underwent pelvic multi-b-values DWI before and at the 3rd day during treatment. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), true diffusion coefficient (Dslow), perfusion-related pseudo-diffusion coefficient (Dfast), perfusion fraction (f), distributed diffusion coefficient (DDC) and intravoxel diffusion heterogeneity index(α) were generated by mono-exponential, bi-exponential and stretched exponential models. Treatment response was assessed based on Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST v1.1) at 1 month after the completion of whole CCRT. Parameters were compared using independent t test or Mann-Whitney U test as appropriate. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves was used for statistical evaluations. RESULTS ADC-T0 (p = 0.02), Dslow-T0 (p < 0.01), DDC-T0 (p = 0.03), ADC-T1 (p < 0.01), Dslow-T1 (p < 0.01), ΔADC (p = 0.04) and Δα (p < 0.01) were significant lower in non-CR group patients. ROC analyses showed that ADC-T1 and Δα exhibited high prediction value, with area under the curves of 0.880 and 0.869, respectively. CONCLUSIONS Multi-b-values DWI can be used as a noninvasive technique to assess and predict treatment response in cervical cancer patients at the 3rd day of CCRT. ADC-T1 and Δα can be used to differentiate good responders from poor responders.
