Abstract
The O2 splitting mediated by the bulky Rind-based diphosphenes resulted in the clean formation of the mixed-valent diphosphorus compounds, diphosphene oxides, with P2O moieties. Their structural features and electronic properties have been clearly characterized by experimental and theoretical methods.

Abstract
In here we present the deoxygenation of the chalcogen oxides EO2 (E = S, Se) with R-P(PMe3), so-called phospha-Wittig reagents. The reaction of DABSO (DABCO·2SO2) with R-P(PMe3) (R = Mes*, 2,4,6-tBu3-C6H2; MesTer, 2,6-(2,4,6-Me3-C6H2)2-C6H3) resulted in the formation of thiadiphosphiranes (RP)2S (1:R), while selenadiphosphiranes (RP)2Se (2:R) were afforded with SeO2, both accompanied by the formation of OPMe3. Utilizing the sterically more encumbered DipTer-P(PMe3) (DipTer = 2,6-(2,6-iPr2-C6H3)2-C6H3) a different selectivity was observed and (DipTerP)2Se (2:DipTer) along with [Se(μ-PDipTer)]2 (3:DipTer) were isolated as the Se-containing species in the reaction with SeO2. Interestingly, the reaction with DABSO (or with equimolar ratios of SeO2 at elevated temperatures) gave rise to the formation of the OPMe3-stabilized dioxophosphorane (phosphinidene dioxide) DipTerP(O)2-OPMe3 (4:DipTer) as the main product. This contrasting reactivity can be rationalized by two potential pathways in the reaction with EO2: (i) a Wittig-type pathway and (ii) a pathway involving oxygenation of the phospha-Wittig reagents and release of SO. Thus, phospha-Wittig reagents are shown to be useful synthetic tools for the metal-free deoxygenation of EO2 (E = S, Se).

Abstract
This comprehensive review, covering the years 1968-2022, is not only a retrospective investigation of a certain group of linearly fused aromatics, called acenes, but also a presentation of the current state of the knowledge on the synthesis, reactions, and applications of these compounds. Their characteristic feature is substitution of the aromatic system by one, two, or three organophosphorus groups, which determine their properties and applications. The (PIII, PIV, PV) phosphorus atom in organophosphorus groups is linked to the acene directly by a P-Csp2 bond or indirectly through an oxygen atom by a P-O-Csp2 bond.

Abstract
Organophosphorus compounds possessing a P-P double-bond character are intriguing materials in coordination chemistry because it is possible to form a variety of coordination modes from the π-bond in addition to the lone pairs. We report herein the complexation of a new bidentate ligand, ethylene-tethered bis(binaphthyldiphosphene) (S,S)-2, with palladium(II) species. The reaction of (S,S)-2 with [Pd(π-allyl)(cod)](SbF6) and PdCl2(cod) afforded η1/η1-bis(diphosphene) complex 7 and η1-diphosphene/η2-phosphanylphosphide complex 8, respectively. The latter was characterized by a chloride migration from the palladium atom to a phosphorus atom due to the high electron-accepting character of the PP moiety. Theoretical calculations revealed the migration process and nature of complex 8.

Abstract
Aryl- and heteroaryl-dichlorophosphines are mildly and selectively made in a one-pot synthesis in moderate to good yields starting from the respective aryl bromides or five-membered heterocycles, following lithiation with nBuLi, transmetalation with ZnCl2, and subsequently the reaction with PCl3. Selected aryl- and heteroaryl-dichlorophosphines were successfully synthesized using this reaction method and could easily be purified after isolation. The intermediate formation of the organozinc species is essential, as it prevents the formation of multiple substitution products. Important are also the reaction conditions: the usage of the proper solvent for the respective aromatic precursors and removal of the remaining salts by addition of a dioxane/pentane mixture. Depending on the solvent and steric demand of the substituent, mono- and bis-substitution products can be formed but formation also prevented. Hereby, different organozinc species might play an important role.

Abstract
1,1'-Binaphthyl-substituted diphosphene 1 possessing a P[double bond, length as m-dash]P double bond and an axially chiral 1,1'-binaphthyl group was synthesized and fully characterized. Diphosphene 1 was prepared as an optically active form and thus is the first example of a chiral diphosphene. The CD spectra of 1 showed apparent circular dichroism in the longer wavelength region, caused by the P[double bond, length as m-dash]P moiety.

Abstract
Although many stable disilenes (silicon-silicon doubly-bonded compounds) containing organic π-electron systems have been reported, stable disilenes with heteroaromatic groups remain rare. Herein, we report the synthesis of monodisilenyl-substituted thiophene 1, anthracene 4, acridine 5, and mesitylene 7 and bis(disilenyl)-substituted thiophene 2, 2,2'-bithiophene 3, and anthracene 6via reactions of dialkylmesityldisilenide 8 with the corresponding haloarenes. Disilenes 1-7 show absorption bands with contributions of intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) transitions from π(disilene) to π*(aryl). In the ICT transitions, (bi)thienyl groups as well as anthryl and acrydinyl groups serve as electron acceptors for the Si[double bond, length as m-dash]Si double bonds.
