Abstract
Over the past two decades, enantioselective anion-binding catalysis has emerged as a powerful strategy for the induction of chirality in organic transformations. The stereoselectivity is achieved in a range of different reactions by using non-covalent interactions between a chiral catalyst and an ionic substrate or intermediate, and subsequent formation of a chiral contact ion-pair upon anion-binding. This strategy offers vast possibilities in catalysis and the constant development of new reactions has led to various substrate activation approaches. This review provides an overview on the different activation modes in asymmetric anion-binding catalysis by looking at representative examples and recent advances made in this field.

Abstract
H-bond donor catalysts able to modulate the reactivity of ionic substrates for asymmetric reactions have gained great attention in the past years, leading to the development of cooperative multidentate H-bonding supramolecular structures. However, there is still a lack of understanding of the forces driving the ion recognition and catalytic performance of these systems. Herein, insight into the cooperativity nature, anion binding strength, and folding mechanism of a model chiral triazole catalyst is presented. Our combined experimental and computational study revealed that multi-interaction catalysts exhibiting weak binding energies (≈3-4 kcal mol-1 ) can effectively recognize ionic substrates and induce chirality, while strong dependencies on the temperature and solvent were quantified. These results are key for the future design of catalysts with optimal anion binding strength and catalytic activity in target reactions.

Abstract
A stereoselective and convenient route has been demonstrated to access (Z)-1,2-diazido alkenes from the corresponding 1,2-diboronic esters via a copper-mediated reaction with sodium azide. Alternately, mono-functionalization was regioselectively carried out with trimethylsilyl azide as an azidation reactant. The in situ conversion of bis-azides to the corresponding bis-triazoles can be readily achieved in the presence of copper sulfate and sodium ascorbate, while the modification of the catalytic system opened a new convenient route to bis-triazolo-pyrazines, a new class of fused heterocycles.

Abstract
Exploration of molecular functions and material properties based on the control of chirality would be a scientifically elegant approach. Here, the fabrication and function of chiral-featured materials from both chiral and achiral components using a supramolecular nanoarchitectonics concept are discussed. The contents are classified in to three topics: i) chiral nanoarchitectonics of rather general molecular assemblies; ii) chiral nanoarchitectonics of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs); iii) chiral nanoarchitectonics in liquid crystals. MOF structures are based on nanoscopically well-defined coordinations, while mesoscopic orientations of liquid-crystalline phases are often flexibly altered. Discussion on the effects and features in these representative materials systems with totally different natures reveals the universal importance of supramolecular chiral nanoarchitectonics. Amplification of chiral molecular information from molecules to materials-level structures and the creation of chirality from achiral components upon temporal statistic fluctuations are universal, regardless of the nature of the assemblies. These features are thus surely advantageous characteristics for a wide range of applications.
