Abstract
A synthetic approach for the construction of functionalized diverse 1-pyrrolines incorporating β-quaternary carbon centers under mild reaction conditions has been reported, in which α-allyl α-(alkylideneamino)nitriles generated from a Lewis base-catalyzed allylic alkylation reaction engaged in a Lewis base-mediated tandem intramolecular cyclization to deliver the targeted molecules in a catalytically atom-economic fashion.

Abstract
The synthesis of 1-pyrrolines from N-alkenylnitrones and alkynes has been explored as a retrosynthetic alternative to traditional approaches. These cascade reactions are formal [4+1] cycloadditions that proceed through a proposed dipolar cycloaddition and N-alkenylisoxazoline [3,3']-sigmatropic rearrangement. A variety of cyclic alkynes and terminal alkynes have been shown to undergo the transformation with N-alkenylnitrones under mild conditions to provide the corresponding spirocyclic and densely substituted 1-pyrrolines with high regio- and diastereoselectivity. Mechanistic studies provide insight into the balance of steric and electronic effects that promote the cascade process and control the diastereo- and regioisomeric preferences of the 1-pyrroline products. Diastereoselective derivatization of the 1-pyrrolines prepared by the cascade reaction demonstrate the divergent synthetic utility of the new method.

Abstract
The cyclocondensation of enones with aminoacetonitrile furnishes 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2-carbonitriles which can be readily converted to 2,4-disubstituted pyrroles by microwave-induced dehydrocyanation. Alternatively, oxidation of the intermediates produces 3,5-disubstituted pyrrole-2-carbonitriles.

Abstract
The photodenitrogenation of vinyl azides to 2H-azirines by using a photoflow reactor is reported and compared with thermal formation of 2H-azirines. Photochemically, the ring of the 2H-azirines was opened to yield the nitrile ylides, which underwent a [3 + 2]-cycloaddition with 1,3-dipolarophiles. When diisopropyl azodicarboxylate serves as the dipolarophile, 1,3,4-triazoles become directly accessible starting from the corresponding vinyl azide.

Abstract
N,N-Bis(3-butenyl)amines can be prepared by the double allylation of either (2-azaallyl)stannanes or (2-azaallyl)nitriles, both of which thereby act as synthetic equivalents to amine alpha,alpha'-dications (2-azaallyl dications). Allylmagnesium bromide is the reagent of choice for the double allylation of both substrates, although allyllithium also effects the double allylation of (2-azaallyl)nitriles. Ring-closing metathesis can be performed on the N-protected amines, or with in situ protonation, on the free amines to provide 2,3,6,7-tetrahydroazepines. (2-Azaallyl)nitriles can also be monoallylated to provide N-(3-butenyl)aminonitriles, whereas the double allylation of (2-azaallyl)stannanes cannot be stopped at monoallylation. (2-Azaallyl)silanes undergo monoallylation to give N-(3-butenyl)aminosilanes but do not undergo double allylation.
