Abstract
The development of an enantioselective catalytic Suzuki-Miyaura reaction that applies to meso 1,2-diborylcycloalkanes is described. This reaction provides a modular route to enantiomerically enriched substituted carbocycles and heterocycles that retain a synthetically versatile boronic ester. With appropriately constructed substrates, compounds bearing additional stereogenic centers and fully substituted carbon atoms can be generated in a straightforward fashion. Preliminary mechanistic experiments suggest that substrate activation arises from the cooperative effect of vicinal boronic esters during the transmetalation step.

Abstract
We report herein a new method for the synthesis of densely functionalized chiral allyl SCF3 , SCF2 R, SCN and SAr species with a separate CF3 functionality. The synthetic approach is based on selenium-catalyzed sulfenofunctionalization of chiral α-CF3 allylboronic acids. The reactions proceeded with remarkably high stereo-, diastereo- and site-selectivity, based on the formation of a stable thiiranium ion followed by rapid deborylative ring opening.

Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of an optically enriched dehydropiperidinyl boronate with cinnamyl carbonates was optimized to minimize stereochemical erosion. Although the coupling of two unsymmetrical allyl fragments may generate four possible regioisomers, the optimal procedure using (p-CF3C6H4)3P as the ligand affords linear 2-allylated 3,4-dehydropiperidines exclusively (>98 : 2 rr) with enantiospecificity up to 99%.

Abstract
Alkylidenecyclobutanes (ACBs) containing all-carbon quaternary stereocenters were simply and efficiently synthesized by combining boron-homologation and γ-selective cross-coupling strategies. This unique sequence led to excellent regio- and diastereoselectivities in the generation of targeted four-membered rings with up to 99% enantiomeric excess using chiral substrates. In addition to the original synthesis of ACBs, the first asymmetric catalytic formation of quaternary stereocenters based on γ-selective cross-coupling reactions is finally shown.

Abstract
The catalytic Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling with chiral γ,γ-disubstituted allylboronates in the presence of RuPhos ligand occurs with high regioselectivity and enantiospecificity, furnishing nonracemic compounds with quaternary centers. Mechanistic experiments suggest that the reaction occurs by transmetalation with allyl migration, followed by rapid reductive elimination.

Abstract
Aryl electrophiles containing tethered allylboronate units undergo efficient intramolecular coupling in the presence of a chiral palladium catalyst to give enantioenriched carbocyclic products. The reaction is found to be quite general, affording 5, 6, and 7-membered carbocyclic products as single regioisomers and with moderate enantioselectivities. Examination of differential coupling partners points to rapid allyl-equilibration as a key stereodefining feature.

An orthogonal set of catalyst systems has been developed for the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of 3,3-disubstituted and 3-monosubstituted allylboronates with (hetero)aryl halides. These methods allow for the highly selective preparation of either the α- or the γ-isomeric coupling product.

Abstract
Two highly efficient and convenient methods for the synthesis of functionalized and substituted allylic boronates are described. In one procedure, readily available allylic acetates are converted to allylic boronates catalyzed by Ni/PCy(3) or Ni/PPh(3) complexes with high levels of stereoselectivity and in good yields. Alternatively, the borylation can be accomplished with commercially available Pd catalysts [e.g., Pd(2)(dba)(3), PdCl(2), Pd/C], starting with easily accessed allylic halides.

Abstract
The Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling of allylic carbonates and allylB(pin) is described. The regioselectivity of this reaction is sensitive to the bite angle of the ligand, with small-bite-angle ligands favoring the branched substitution product. This mode of regioselection is consistent with a reaction that operates by a 3,3' reductive elimination reaction. In the presence of appropriate chiral ligands, this reaction is rendered enantioselective and applies to both aromatic and aliphatic allylic carbonates.

Abstract
The stereochemical course of palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of an enantioenriched, alpha-substituted, allylic silanolate salt with aromatic bromides has been investigated. The allylic silanolate salt was prepared in high geometrical (Z/E, 94:6) and high enantiomeric (94:6 er) purity by a copper-catalyzed S(N)2' reaction of a resolved allylic carbamate. Eight different aromatic bromides underwent cross-coupling with excellent constitutional site-selectivity and excellent stereospecificity. Stereochemical correlation established that the transmetalation event proceeds through a syn S(E)' mechanism which is interpreted in terms of an intramolecular delivery of the arylpalladium electrophile through a key intermediate that contains a discrete Si-O-Pd linkage.

Abstract
The first examples of Suzuki-Miyaura couplings of allylic ethers are reported. These can be done not only under very mild room-temperature conditions but also in water as the only medium. The process is made possible by micellar catalysis using the designer surfactant PTS.

Abstract
The sodium salts of allyldimethylsilanol and 2-butenyldimethylsilanol undergo palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling with a wide variety of aryl bromides to afford allylated and crotylated arenes. The coupling of both silanolates required extensive optimization to deliver the expected products in high yields. The reaction of the allyldimethylsilanolate takes place at 85 degrees C in 1,2-dimethoxyethane with allylpalladium chloride dimer (2.5 mol %) to afford 73-95% yields of the allylation products. Both electron-rich and sterically hindered bromides reacted smoothly, whereas electron-poor bromides cross-coupled in poor yield because of a secondary isomerization to the 1-propenyl isomer (and subsequent polymerization). The 2-butenyldimethylsilanolate (E/Z, 80:20) required additional optimization to maximize the formation of the branched (gamma-substitution) product. A remarkable influence of added alkenes (dibenzylideneacetone and norbornadiene) led to good selectivities for electron-rich and electron-poor bromides in 40-83% yields. However, bromides containing coordinating groups (particularly in the ortho position) gave lower, and in one case even reversed, selectivity. Configurationally homogeneous (E)-silanolates gave slightly higher gamma-selectivity than the pure (Z)-silanolates. A unified mechanistic picture involving initial gamma-transmetalation followed by direct reductive elimination or sigma-pi isomerization can rationalize all of the observed trends.
