Abstract
Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have potential as an energy storage system because they have similar electrochemical properties as lithium-ion batteries, abundant resource reserves, and extremely high safety performance. Compared with traditional graphite materials, conductive polymers are more suitable as an anode electrode material for SIBs. In this study, a simple and scalable approach has been used to synthesize p-toluenesulfonic acid-doped polypyrrole (p-TSA-PPy). The as-obtained material showed remarkable rate capacities and cyclability. At room temperature (25 °C), its discharge capacities could reach 185, 162, and 135 mAh g-1 under 10, 30, and 50 C rates after 250 cycles, respectively. More importantly, the capacity of the p-TSA-PPy could still be maintained at 120.5 mAh g-1 even at the 2000th cycle at 10 C. In addition, it achieves attractive electrochemical performance at different temperatures (0 and 50 °C).

Abstract
In this work, we report a facile and green strategy for one pot and in-situ synthesis of a dandelion-like conductive polyaniline coated gold nanoparticle nanocomposites (Au@PANI). The Au@PANI was characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD, TGA, FTIR, UV-vis and conductivity measurement, respectively. Newly-designed Au@PANI materials possessed a significantly high conductivity and strong adsorption capability. Thus, the Au@PANI modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was utilized for construct a novel electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous assay of Pb2+ and Cu2+ using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV). Under the optimized conditions, an excellent electrochemical response in the simultaneous of Pb2+ and Cu2+ with detection limit of 0.003 and 0.008 μM (S/N = 3), respectively. Moreover, the prepared sensors realized an excellent reproducibility, repeatability and long term stability, as well as reliable practical assays in real water samples. Besides, the possible formation mechanism and sensing mechanism of Au@PANI nanocomposites have been discussed in detail. We believe this study provides a novel method of fabrication of noble metal nanoparticles decorated conducting polymer materials for the electrochemical sensing applications.

Abstract
The composite polylactide PLLA/β-TCP scaffolds were fabricated by solution casting and were coated with gelatin/hydroxyapatite (Gel/HAp) to improve the biological properties of the composite scaffolds. The Gel/HAp mixture was prepared using an in situ reaction, and a grafting-coating method was used to increase the efficiency of coating the PLLA/β-TCP matrix with Gel/HAp. First, free amino groups were introduced by 1,6-hexanediamine to aminolyze the PLLA/β-TCP matrix surface. Second, glutaraldehyde was coupled to Gel/HAp as a crosslinking agent. The structure and properties of Gel/HAp-modified PLLA/β-TCP films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and water contact angle measurements (WCA). The experimental results show that 23 wt% HAp was uniformly dispersed in the gelatin coating by in situ synthesis. The Gel/HAp composite coating was successfully immobilized on the aminolyzed PLLA/β-TCP surface via a chemical grafting method, which promoted a lower degradation rate and was more hydrophilic than a physical grafting method. The Gel/HAp composite coating adhered tightly and homogeneously to the hydrophobic PLLA/β-TCP surface. Moreover, mouse embryo osteoblast precursor (MC3T3-E1) cells grown on the scaffolds were behaviorally and morphologically characterized. The results indicated that the Gel/HAp composite coating was favorable for the attachment and proliferation of preosteoblasts and that Gel/HAp-NH-PLLA/β-TCP would be a candidate scaffold for bone repair.

Abstract
The present article demonstrates the targeted delivery of doxorubicin hydrochloride to human osteosarcoma cancer cell lines (MG 63) using functionalized dextrin based crosslinked, pH responsive and biocompatible nanogel. The nanogel has been prepared through Michael-type addition reaction using dextrin (Dxt), N, N'-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA, as crosslinker), acrylic acid (AA, as monomer) and potassium persulfate (KPS, as initiator). The structure, composition, morphology of the nanogel have been explored using FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy, XRD, TGA, DSC, CHN and AFM analyses. The TEM analysis confirmed that the size of nanogel appeared within 100nm, while DLS study indicates that the diameter of the nanogel remained between 113 and 126nm. The AFM study implied the porous morphology of the synthesized nanogel. The rheological study suggests the gel behaviour of the synthesized nanogel at 37±0.1°C. Difference in% swelling at pH 5.5 and 7.4 indicates pH-responsiveness of the nanogel. The in vitro cytocompatibility results ascertained that the nanogel is non-toxic to human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). In vitro cellular uptake study confirmed that FITC-loaded nanogel can cross the cellular membrane and be well uptake by the cell cytoplasm. The nanogel could efficiently encapsulate doxorubicin hydrochloride (Dox) with the loading efficiency of 27±0.2% after 72h. The Dox-loaded nanogel demonstrates anti-cancer activity towards MG 63 cancer cells and release the encapsulated drug in a controlled way.
