The oncologic outcomes of endometrial cancer metastasizing to the adrenal gland and kidney: from case to analysis. J Turk Ger Gynecol Assoc 2023; 24:172-176. Abstract
Objective To evaluate the oncologic outcomes of endometrial cancer metastasis to the adrenal gland and kidney, based on a case study and review of the literature. Material and Methods A systematic review of the medical literature was performed to identify articles about metastatic endometrial cancer to the adrenal gland and kidney from 1975 until 2021. Results A 55-year-old female patient was admitted to our center. On pelvic examination, a mass protruding out of the cervix was observed, which was shown to be endometrioid carcinoma on biopsy. Disease stage was IVB, based on radiological and pathological results and the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics 2018 staging. Neo-adjuvant chemotherapy was given. After therapy, the patient underwent type 2 hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, total omentectomy and lymph node dissection. Left nephrectomy, left adrenalectomy and left hemicolectomy were also performed because the conglomerate tumor invaded the left kidney, left adrenal gland, and left colon mesentery. Pathological findings were consistent with metastasis of endometrioid carcinoma in the left adrenal gland, left kidney parenchyma and hilum. Conclusion Metastasis of endometrial cancer to the adrenal gland and kidney is extremely rare and metastasis to the kidney has been reported in only two previous cases. When there is an intraperitoneal spread of endometrial cancer, as well as ovarian cancer, cytoreductive surgery without leaving a residual tumor should be undertaken andshould include adrenalectomy and nephrectomy, if necessary.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Cutaneous and soft tissue metastases of endometrial cancer are rare. This review aims to examine the prevalence of cutaneous metastasis, the diagnosis and treatment options, and the impact of cutaneous metastasis of endometrial cancer on overall survival. We also present a particular case with a long-term overall survival. MATERIALS AND METHODS A systematic literature search was conducted on PubMed and PubMed Central using the following keywords: endometrial carcinoma metastasis, cutaneous metastasis, and five-year overall survival. RESULTS We identified 326 results and checked their titles for eligibility. There were eight studies included. We also presented a case of a 51-year-old woman with cutaneous metastasis and a large soft tissue metastasis with a prolonged overall survival of about 13 years after the appearance of the first cutaneous metastasis. CONCLUSIONS This paper highlights the importance of skin evaluations in patients diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Healthcare providers must consider the possibility of cutaneous metastasis localization in patients with endometrial cancer to assign the correct stage and apply the appropriate treatment to increase long-term survival.

Abstract
Adrenal metastasis from endometrial cancer is extremely rare and has a poor prognosis, especially for bilateral adrenal metastases. It is usually asymptomatic without any adrenal hormonal abnormalities. A 50-year-old postmenopausal woman presented with acute right-sided back pain and history of occasional abnormal uterine bleeding. She was diagnosed with endometrial cancer with ruptured bilateral adrenal metastases. She underwent total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and the pathological findings revealed dedifferentiated carcinoma. After three courses of adjuvant chemotherapy, the bilateral adrenal metastases had increased in size, with worsening back pain and adrenal hormone insufficiency. The patient died 6 months after the identification of adrenal tumors. Acute back pain may lead to the identification of a ruptured adrenal metastasis. The possibility of gradual adrenal insufficiency should be considered in bilateral adrenal metastases. Although the prognosis is poor, tumor debulking surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy could be suggested to improve the prognosis.

Identification of potential descriptors of water-soluble fullerene derivatives responsible for antitumor effects on lung cancer cells via QSAR analysis. Comput Struct Biotechnol J 2021; 19:812-825. Abstract
Water-soluble fullerene derivatives are actively investigated as potential drugs for cancer treatment due to their favorable membranotropic properties. Herein, cytotoxic effects of twenty fullerene derivatives with different solubilizing addends were evaluated in three different types of non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). The potential structural descriptors of the solubilizing addends related to the inhibitory activities on each type of lung cancer cell were investigated by the quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) approach. The determination coefficient r2 for the recommended QSAR model were 0.9325, 0.8404, and 0.9011 for A549, H460, and H1299 cell lines, respectively. The results revealed that the chemical features of the fullerene-based compounds including aromatic bonds, sulfur-containing aromatic rings, and oxygen atoms are favored properties and promote the inhibitory effects on H460 and H1299 cells. Particularly, thiophene moiety is the key functional group, which was positively correlated with strong inhibitory effects on the three types of lung cancer cells. The useful information obtained from our regression models may lead to the design of more efficient inhibitors of the three types of NSCLC.

Adrenal and Bone Metastases as the Initial Presentation of Endometrial Carcinoma Diagnosed by 18F-FDG PET/CT. Clin Nucl Med 2020; 45:711-713. Abstract
Adrenal and bone metastases as the initial presentation of endometrial carcinoma are rare. We report a case of endometrial carcinoma in a 47-year-old woman with initial manifestation as right chest wall pain, which was suspected as adrenal cortical carcinoma with rib metastasis after diagnostic CT scan. However, uterine and pelvic bone lesions were revealed by staging FDG PET/CT. Eventually, endometrial carcinoma with adrenal and bone metastases was confirmed pathologically.
