Adiabatic preparation of Multipartite GHZ states via Rydberg ground-state blockade

Creation of quantum entangled states of Rydberg atoms via chirped adiabatic passage

Entangled states are crucial for modern quantum enabled technology which makes their creation key for future developments. In this paper, a robust quantum control methodology is presented to create entangled states of two typical classes, the W and the Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ). It was developed from the analysis of a chain of alkali atoms \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$^{87}Rb$$\end{document}87Rb interaction with laser pulses, which leads to the two-photon transitions from the ground to the Rydberg states with a predetermined magnetic quantum number. The methodology is based on the mechanism of the two-photon excitation, adiabatic for the GHZ and non-adiabatic for the W state, induced by the overlapping chirped pulses and governed by the Rabi frequency, the one-photon detuning, and the strength of the Rydberg–Rydberg interactions.

Gaussian soft control-based quantum fan-out gate in ground-state manifolds of neutral atoms

We propose a reliable scheme for one-step synthesizing of a quantum fan-out gate in a system of neutral atoms. By introducing the off-resonant driving fields with Gaussian temporal modulation, the dynamics of the system is strictly restricted to the ground-state subspace on the basis of unconventional Rydberg pumping, which exhibits more robustness than the constant driving method against the fluctuation of system parameters, such as operating time and environment noise. As a direct application of this quantum fan-out gate, we discuss in detail the preparation of multipartite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state for neutral atoms. The result shows that a high fidelity better than 99% can be obtained within the state-of-the-art experiments.

Effective Rabi dynamics of Rydberg atoms and robust high-fidelity quantum gates with a resonant amplitude-modulation field

With a resonant amplitude-modulation field on two Rydberg atoms, we propose a Rydberg antiblockade (RAB) regime, where the Rabi oscillation between collective ground and excited states is induced. A controlled-Z gate can be yielded through a Rabi cycle. Further, several common issues of the RAB gates are solved by modifying the parameter relation. The gate fidelity and gate robustness against the control error are enhanced with a shaped pulse. The requirement of control precision of the Rydberg-Rydberg interaction strength is relaxed. In addition, the atomic excitation is restrained and therefore the gate robustness against atomic decay is enhanced.

Tripartite Entanglement: Foundations and Applications

We review some current ideas of tripartite entanglement. In particular, we consider the case representing the next level of complexity beyond the simplest (though far from trivial) one, namely the bipartite case. This kind of entanglement plays an essential role in understanding the foundations of quantum mechanics. It also allows for implementing several applications in the fields of quantum information processing and quantum computing. In this paper, we review the fundamental aspects of tripartite entanglement focusing on Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger and W states for discrete variables. We discuss the possibility of using it as a resource to execute quantum protocols and present some examples in detail.
