Abstract
Introduction: Intrapulmonary mature cystic teratoma is an extremely rare form of extragonadal teratoma that frequently presents with nonspecific clinical and radiologic findings. The first case was described by Mohr in 1839. It usually involves the upper lobes of the left lung. Case Presentation: In this report, we describe the first case of a 28-year-old woman from Kabul, Afghanistan, who was diagnosed with intrapulmonary mature cystic teratoma in the left upper lobe and complained of dry cough and hemoptysis 6 months before her admission. Preoperatively, the clinicians suggested a diagnosis of lung abscess based on the symptoms and radiological findings. Postoperatively, the lesion was diagnosed as intrapulmonary mature cystic teratoma by anatomopathological examination. Conclusions: Intrapulmonary mature cystic teratomas are usually misdiagnosed preoperatively due to nonspecific clinical symptoms, and indistinguishable radiographic findings, and should keep in the differential diagnosis of all cystic lesions. An accurate diagnosis is made by postoperative anatomopathological examination, and complete surgical resection of the lesion is considered the optimal treatment.

Intrapulmonary mature teratoma: an unusual finding. Indian J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg 2022; 38:80-83. Abstract
Teratomas are tumors consisting of tissues derived from more than one germ cell line. Usual locations are sacrococcygeal region, intracranial, mediastinum, and gonads. Entirely intrapulmonary teratomas, with no mediastinal component, are rarely reported. We present the case of a 37-year-old man who presented for evaluation due to persistent and progressive intermittent cough. There was no sputum or hemoptysis. Computed tomography (CT) revealed an irregular, cystic lesion in the upper lobe of his left lung, which raised suspicion for aspergilloma. The patient underwent a left thoracotomy and, after finding a completely collapsed and hypoplastic left lung almost entirely occupied by an irregular mass, a total left pneumonectomy was performed. Pathological review reported an entirely intrapulmonary mature teratoma. Intrapulmonary mature teratomas are extremely rare, although several have been reported. Trichoptysis (expectoration of hair) is a specific finding that may help distinguish this entity from mediastinal teratomas.

Abstract
A 36 years old female presented with six months history of shortness of breath, fatigue, and tiredness. Her chest X-Ray showed a left mediastinal mass. A computed tomographic scan (CT)of the chest revealed a left mediastinal mass, exhibiting typical teratoma features. An echocardiogram showed compression of the main pulmonary artery causing right ventricular out flow tract obstruction. The tumor was resected through a left thoracotomy, and the patient improved dramatically after surgery. She was discharged home for further follow-up.

Abstract
Background Intrapulmonary teratoma (IPT) is a rare type of extra gonadal teratoma which often presents with non-specific symptoms and can be misdiagnosed as other diseases. Here we report a patient with IPT which was initially misdiagnosed as lung hydatid cyst versus abscess. Case presentation We report an intrapulmonary teratoma in a 27-year-old female presenting with persistent chest pain and dyspnea since a few years prior to her admission with associated symptoms of cough and fever. Chest x-ray only showed left side massive pleural effusion and computed tomography scan of the lungs was suggestive of hydatid cyst or a lung abscess. She underwent lobectomy and postoperative histopathological study revealed IPT as the final diagnosis. Conclusion Due to the non-specific symptoms and rarity, IPT can be easily misdiagnosed at first. It is essential that physicians take into account the possibility of IPT when approaching a new case of lung mass.

Intrapulmonary teratoma masquerading as hydatid cyst of the lung. Indian J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg 2019; 35:71-73. Abstract
Intrapulmonary teratoma (IPT) is a rare mediastinal teratoma. IPT arise because of abnormal migration of pluripotent stem cells along the developing lung bud. Patients present with chest pain, hemoptysis, and trichoptysis. These tumors have the potential to rupture into adjacent pleura, pericardium, or tracheobronchial tree. The differential diagnosis includes hydatid cyst, fungal ball, lung abscess, and lung parenchymal tumor. We report a case of IPT, which was initially diagnosed as hydatid cyst of the lung due to positive hydatid serology and correlating radiological features. The role of cross-reaction of hydatid antigens with sera of cancer patients needs to be evaluated. Surgical resection of the tumor is advised to avoid complications.

Abstract
Intrapulmonary teratoma is a rare and little-known disease. The present case was that of an adolescent with recurrent cough and haemoptysis. Chest radiography revealed a mass on the left lung base, and computed tomography (CT) indicated a heterogeneous tumour with a fluid component, soft parts, fat, and calcifications in the left upper lobe. Upper left lobectomy was performed; histopathological findings confirmed a mature pulmonary teratoma.

Abstract
The complex embryology of the anterior mediastinum makes it home to an array of primary neoplasms tied to the presence of the thyroid and thymus glands in that compartment. While the occurrence of ectopic thyroid deposits in the extramediastinal thorax has not been convincingly established, the other three “Ts” of the classic “4T” mnemonic for the differential diagnosis of an anterior mediastinal mass have occurred in the lung parenchyma, pleural space, and endobronchially as primary tumors. Finding any of the three lesions – thymoma, teratoma, or B-cell lymphoma – in the chest outside the mediastinum is very unusual, but that possibility exists. Herein, we illustrate examples of this rare phenomenon.

Abstract
Intrapulmonary teratomas are rare tumors that are presumed to develop in association with mediastinal teratomas. This report describes the management of a rare case of a benign cystic intrapulmonary teratoma in the left upper lobe in a 26-year-old lady, which was successfully treated by lobectomy, with no recurrence after 4 years of follow-up.
