Abstract
Venous hypoxia is considered as the major pathogenetic mechanism linking blood flow stagnancy with deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Our previous study showed that activating SIRT1 may attenuate inferior vena cava (IVC) stenosis-induced DVT in rats. This study was aimed to investigate the role of endothelial SIRT1 in DVT and hypoxia-induced endothelial dysfunction as well as the underlying mechanism. Protein profiling of IVCs and blood plasma of DVT rats induced by IVC stenosis was analysed by 4D Label free proteomics analysis. To verify the independent role of SIRT1 in DVT and oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced endothelial dysfunction, SIRT1 specific activator SRT1720 and SIRT1 knockdown in both local IVCs and endothelial cells were employed. Moreover, the role of the NF-κB were investigated using NF-κB inhibitor caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE). SRT1720 significantly inhibited thrombus burden, leukocytes infiltration, protein expressions of cell adhesion molecules and chemokines, as well as acetylation level of NF-κB/p65 in wild DVT rats, while these protective effects of SRT1720 were abolished in rats with SIRT1 knockdown in local IVCs. In vitro, SRT1720 protected endothelial cells against OGD-induced dysfunction characterized with enhanced adhesion of monocytes as well as the protein expressions of cell adhesion molecules and chemokines, whereas these protective effects of SRT1720 were vanished by SIRT1 stable knockdown. Furthermore, CAPE attenuated endothelial cell dysfunction and abolished these effects of SIRT1 knockdown. Collectively, these data suggested that endothelial SIRT1 plays an independent role in ameliorating hypoxia-induced endothelial dysfunction and thrombotic inflammation in DVT, and this effect is mediated by NF-κB deacetylation.

Abstract
Venous calcification has been observed in post‐thrombotic syndrome (PTS) patients; yet, the cell types and possible mechanisms regulating this process are still unclear. We evaluated the calcium deposition within the venous wall, the cell type involved in the calcified remodelling of the venous wall after thrombosis and explored possible mechanisms in vitro. Calcium deposition was found in human specimens of superficial thrombotic veins and was co‐localized with VSMCs markers αSMA and TAGLN (also known as SM22α). Besides, the expression of osteogenesis‐related genes was dramatically changed in superficial thrombotic veins. Moreover, the inhibition of the TGFβ signalling pathway after TNFα treatment effectively induced the expression of osteogenic phenotype markers, the calcium salt deposits and the obvious phosphorylation of ERK1/2 and JNK2 in the VSMCs calcification model. Supplementing TGFβ2 or blocking the activation of the ERK/MAPK signalling pathway prevented the transformation of VSMCs into osteoblast‐like cells in vitro. Taken together, VSMCs have an important role in venous calcification after thrombosis. Supplementing TGFβ2 or inhibiting the ERK/MAPK signalling pathway can reduce the appearance of VSMCs osteogenic phenotype. Our findings may present a novel therapeutic approach to prevent of vascular calcification after venous thrombosis.

Abstract
Background Venous thrombosis is a type of medical condition that establishes as deep vein thrombosis of the limb or pulmonary embolism. This disease arises as a result of interrelating hereditary, ecological, and interactive risk aspects. Clinical nursing pathways also known as critical pathways are pathways that guide nurses when developing a patient's care plan. However, the effect of nursing intervention on venous thrombosis in long-term bedridden patients from the perspective of evidence-based medicine had not been reported. Methods A total of 170 patients hospitalized in the hospital from January 2021 to October 2021 were selected, and the bed time was more than 2 weeks. The patients were randomly divided into the control group and observation group. 85 cases in the control group received routine nursing in cardiology, and 85 cases in the observation group received clinical nursing pathway. Venous thrombosis, lower limb pain, swelling, D-dimer level, hemodynamic parameters, and nursing satisfaction were compared in two groups. Results The incidence of deep venous thrombosis in the observation group was 8.2%, lower than 24.7% in the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence of lower limb pain and elevated D-dimer in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The improvement of hemodynamic parameters such as SBP, DBP, CBV, PR, CI, and CO in the study group was better than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The satisfaction of the observation group was 90.58%, which was higher than that of the control group (82.35%) (P < 0.05). Conclusion Clinical nursing pathway can improve patients' nursing efficiency, improve the treatment effect, shorten hospital stay, and improve nursing satisfaction.

Abstract
Cerebral sinus venous thrombosis (CVST) is a disease caused by occlusion of intracranial venous structures, including the cerebral sinuses, cortical veins, and the proximal jugular vein. Delay in diagnosis and therapy can lead to complications such as bleeding infarction and even death. Thrombosis that causes CVST is the process of forming a blood clot in a blood vessel. Thrombosis occurs when the balance between thrombogenic factors and the protective mechanisms of thrombogenesis is disturbed. Platelet function abnormalities in CVST cases can be in the form of impaired adhesion function, impaired release or secretion reactions, and impaired aggregation function. Dysfunction and disruption of endothelial structure due to inflammation causes platelet adhesion so that platelets stick together with collagen in endothelial cells. Platelet-selectin is a type 1 transmembrane protein in platelet granules and megakaryocytes and plays a role in mediating interactions between leukocytes and ligands that help the adhesion process of leukocytes and platelets so that they can be used as predictors of thrombosis in patients with CVST.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs is a common disease in vascular surgery. Approximately 20-50% of deep vein thrombosis patients develop post-thrombotic syndrome, which can severely affect the patient's quality of life. However, the precise science of the pathophysiology of the progression of the post-thrombotic syndrome remains unclear. Studies have demonstrated that patients with post-thrombotic syndrome of the lower limbs have impaired arterial wall endothelial function. Nevertheless, there is little research on the different impacts of post-thrombotic syndrome on the arterial wall endothelial function between the affected limbs and the healthy limbs. This study aims to assess this difference. METHODS A total of 60 patients treated for the post-thrombotic syndrome of the lower limbs were included. The flow-mediated dilation (FMD%) and nitroglycerin-mediated dilation (NMD%) were measured to assess the different endothelial function alterations of the common femoral arterial wall between the affected limb and the healthy limb. RESULTS No significant differences in the common femoral artery diameter between the affected limbs and the healthy limbs were discovered (8.94 ± 0.92 mm vs 8.75 ± 1.0 mm, P = 0.710). The flow-mediated dilation of the common femoral artery of the affected limbs were significantly lower compared to the healthy limbs (FMD%: 3.21 ± 1.07% vs 5.19 ± 1.35%, P = 0.001). However, there was no significant difference in the nitroglycerin-mediated dilation of the common femoral artery between the affected limbs and the healthy limbs( NMD%: 13.37 ± 1.78% versus 14.45 ± 2.14%, P = 0.083). CONCLUSIONS Our results demonstrated the association between post-thrombotic syndrome and deteriorated endothelial functional properties of the arterial wall of the lower limbs. Endothelial dysfunction of the arteries wall was more severe in the affected lower limbs with the post-thrombotic syndrome than in the healthy limbs. The mentioned findings may partly explain the pathophysiology of the progression post-thrombotic syndrome of the lower limbs. HIGHLIGHTS tudies have demonstrated that patients with post-thrombotic syndrome of the lower limbs have impaired arterial wall endothelial function. Our results demonstrated the endothelial dysfunction of the arteries wall was more severe in the affected lower limbs with the post-thrombotic syndrome than in the healthy limbs. Our findings may partly explain the pathophysiology of the progression post-thrombotic syndrome of the lower limbs.

Abstract
The study focused on the risk factors of postoperative arrhythmia and lung infection and the preventive effects of targeted low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) on the occurrence of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in patients with esophageal/cardia cancer. In this article, 82 patients who were pathologically diagnosed with esophageal/cardia cancer and underwent surgical treatment were selected as the research subjects. According to the different preoperative treatment methods, the patients were divided into the control group (without anticoagulant drugs before the operation, 44 cases) and the anticoagulation group (anticoagulant drugs were administered before the operation, 38 cases), and they were compared for basic clinical indicators and disease history. Logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the risk factors of adverse events, and the Wells and Autar scale scores were calculated. Different groups were compared for the operation time, blood loss, and postoperative drainage volume during the operation. D-dimer was detected on the first 1, 3, 5, and 7 days after the operation, and the lower extremity venous color Doppler ultrasound was performed on the 1st and 7th days after the operation. The results showed that age ≥65 years, abnormal preoperative ECG, preoperative coronary heart disease (CHD), preoperative chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), operative time ≥4 h, and preoperative blood sodium <4.04.0 mmol/L were all risk factors for postoperative arrhythmia. Age, preoperative diabetes mellitus, preoperative COPD, length of hospital stay, and FEV1 were all risk factors for postoperative lung infections. In the control group and anticoagulation group, 11 cases (13.41%) and 5 cases (16.10%) had lower extremity DVT, respectively. The incidence of lower extremity DVT was lower in the anticoagulation group than in the control group (P < 0.01). It suggested that age, preoperative disease history, hospital stay, and operation time were risk factors for postoperative adverse events in patients with esophageal/cardia cancer. The targeted anticoagulant LMWH has a significant preventive effect on the occurrence of lower extremity DVT in patients with esophageal/cardia cancer, providing an effective reference for the prognosis and prevention of esophageal/cardia cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) may cause pulmonary embolus, leading to late deaths. The systemic inflammatory and hypercoagulable state of moderate and severe acute pancreatitis (non-mild acute pancreatitis, NMAP) patients may contribute to the development of venous thromboembolism. Accurate prediction of DVT is conducive to clinical decisions.
AIM To develop and validate a potential new prediction nomogram model for the occurrence of DVT in NMAP.
METHODS NMAP patient admission between 2013.1.1 and 2018.12.31 at the West China Hospital of Sichuan University was collected. A total of 220 patients formed the training set for nomogram development, and a validation set was constructed using bootstrapping with 100 resamplings. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to estimate independent risk factors associated with DVT. The independent risk factors were included in the nomogram. The accuracy and utility of the nomogram were evaluated by calibration curve and decision curve analysis, respectively.
RESULTS A total of 220 NMAP patients over 60 years old were enrolled for this analysis. DVT was detected in 80 (36.4%) patients. The final nomogram included age, sex, surgery times, D-dimer, neutrophils, any organ failure, blood culture, and classification. This model achieved good concordance indexes of 0.827 (95%CI: 0.769-0.885) and 0.803 (95%CI: 0.743-0.860) in the training and validation sets, respectively.
CONCLUSION We developed and validated a prediction nomogram model for DVT in older patients with NMAP. This may help guide doctors in making sound decisions regarding the administration of DVT prophylaxis.

Abstract
The optimal medical management of patients following endovascular deep venous interventions remains ill-defined. As such, the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation (SIRF) convened a multidisciplinary group of experts in a virtual Research Consensus Panel (RCP) to develop a prioritized research agenda regarding antithrombotic therapy following deep venous interventions. The panelists presented the gaps in knowledge followed by discussion and ranking of research priorities based on clinical relevance, overall impact, and technical feasibility. The following research topics were identified as high priority: 1) characterization of biological processes leading to in-stent stenosis/rethrombosis; 2) identification and validation of methods to assess venous flow dynamics and their effect on stent failure; 3) elucidation of the role of inflammation and anti-inflammatory therapies; and 4) clinical studies to compare antithrombotic strategies and improve venous outcome assessment. Collaborative, multicenter research is necessary to answer these questions and thereby enhance the care of patients with venous disease.

Abstract
Deep vein thrombosis causes several acute and chronic vessel complications and puts patients at risk of subsequent sepsis development. This unique study aimed to estimate the risk of sepsis development in DVT patients compared with non-DVT patients. This population-based cohort study used records of a longitudinal health insurance database containing two million patients defined in Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD). Our study included patients aged over 20 years with a new diagnosis of DVT with at least two outpatient department visits or an admission between 2001 and 2014. Patients with a diagnosis of sepsis before the index date were excluded. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to homogenize the baseline characteristics between the two groups. To define the independent risk of the DVT group, a multivariate Cox proportional hazard model was used to estimate the hazard ratios. After PSM, the DVT group (n = 5753) exhibited a higher risk of sepsis (adjusted hazard ratio, aHR, 1.74; 95% CI, 1.59-1.90) compared with non-DVT group (n = 5753). Patients with an increased risk of sepsis were associated with being elderly aged, male, having diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, stroke, malignancy, and use of antibiotics. In conclusion, this population-based cohort study demonstrated an increased risk of sepsis in DVT patients compared with non-DVT patients. Thus, early prevention and adequate treatment of DVT is necessary in clinical practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the possibility of using the integral indicators of thrombodynamics to improve the safety of rehabilitation measures in patients in the recovery period of stroke. MATERIAL AND METHODS A prospective study included 52 patients in the recovery period of stroke. To compare the effect of the intensity of physical activity on the change in the integral indicators of thrombodynamics in accordance with the objectives of the study, the patients were randomized into two groups. In the first group, patients received treatment, including physiotherapy, stabilometric trainings, neuropsychological tasks. Patients of the second group received complex treatment, including more intense physical activity with the use of cyclic exercises, biomechanotherapy. To assess the state of hemostasis, an integral thrombodynamics test was used, and the numerical parameters of the spatial dynamics of the growth of a fibrin clot were calculated. RESULTS The state of compensated hypercoagulability was revealed in the majority of patients before the start of medical rehabilitation, despite taking antithrombotic therapy, which was evidence of the ineffectiveness of the therapy. At the same time, it was noted that it was its action, probably during the ongoing program of physical rehabilitation, that ensured the stability of the integral indicators of thrombodynamics and the absence of clinically significant unwanted thromboembolic complications. As a result of the analysis of the data in dynamics before and after treatment, a direct relationship was traced between the intensity of physical activity and the tendency to disturb the hemostatic balance. CONCLUSION The intensity of physical activity during treatment undoubtedly influenced the state of hemostasis. The expediency of monitoring the dynamics of coagulation activity in patients in the recovery period of stroke has been demonstrated.
