ROS-producing nanomaterial engineered from Cu(I) complexes with P 2N 2-ligands for cancer cells treating. DISCOVER NANO 2023; 18:133. Abstract
The work presents core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) built from the novel Cu(I) complexes with cyclic P2N2-ligands (1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctanes) that can visualize their entry into cancer and normal cells using a luminescent signal and treat cells by self-enhancing generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Variation of P- and N-substituents in the series of P2N2-ligands allows structure optimization of the Cu(I) complexes for the formation of the luminescent NPs with high chemical stability. The non-covalent modification of the NPs with triblock copolymer F-127 provides their high colloidal stability, followed by efficient cell internalization of the NPs visualized by their blue (⁓450 nm) luminescence. The cytotoxic effects of the NPs toward the normal and some of cancer cells are significantly lower than those of the corresponding molecular complexes, which correlates with the chemical stability of the NPs in the solutions. The ability of the NPs to self-enhanced and H2O2-induced ROS generation is demonstrated in solutions and intracellular space by means of the standard electron spin resonance (ESR) and fluorescence techniques correspondingly. The anticancer specificity of the NPs toward HuTu 80 cancer cells and the apoptotic cell death pathway correlate with the intracellular level of ROS, which agrees well with the self-enhancing ROS generation of the NPs. The enhanced level of ROS revealed in HuTu 80 cells incubated with the NPs can be associated with the significant level of their mitochondrial localization.

Abstract
In this study, 28-membered macrocyclic 1,5(1,5)-di(1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctana)-2,4,6,8(1,4)-tetrabenzenacyclooctaphane were synthesized by condensation of pyridinephosphine, paraformaldehyde, and primary diamines (bis(4-aminophenyl)methane or -sulfide. The first representatives of binuclear copper(I) complexes of P,N-containing cyclophanes with two 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane rings incorporated into a macrocyclic core and intracavity location of unusual, developed angle Cu2I moiety were obtained. The structure of one complex was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. The complexation led to a slight distortion of the cyclophane conformations.

Aurophilic Interactions of Dimeric Bisphosphine Gold(I) Complexes Pre-Organized by the Structure of the 1,5-Diaza-3,7-Diphosphacyclooctanes. INORGANICS 2022. Abstract
The dimeric gold(I) chloride and gold(I) iodide complexes ([L2Au]Cl2 and L2AuI2) on the scaffold of the cyclic bisphosphine, namely 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane containing α-phenylbenzyl (benzhydryl) substituents at the nitrogen atoms, were synthesized. The obtained complexes were isolated as white crystalline powders. The single crystal XRD of the obtained complexes revealed the strong aurophilic interactions between two gold(I) atoms with the Au…Au distance values of 2.9977(6) and 3.1680(5) Å. The comparison of the gold complexes, based on the N,N-diaryl- and N,N-dibenzhydryl substituted 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctanes, allowed to reveal the strong impact of the initial heterocycle conformation on the realization of the aurophilic interactions, where the geometry of N,N-dibenzhydryl substituted 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane, is pre-organized for the intramolecular aurophilic interactions of the complexes. The obtained complexes exhibit a bluish-green phosphorescence (λem 505 (-Cl) and 530(-I)) in the solid state at room temperature, originated by the metal-halide centered transitions, which was confirmed by the TDDFT calculations. It was found that the aurophilic interactions are realized in the ground and in the triplet excited states of the complexes. The slighter change of the geometry of the N,N-dibenzhydryl substituted gold(I) iodide complexes, under the transition from the ground state to the excited state, in comparison with their N,N-diaryl substituted analogues, results in the reduced values of the Stokes shift of luminescence (ca. 150 nm vs. 175 nm).

Abstract
Abstract
Nowadays, hydrogen has become not only an extremely important chemical product but also a promising clean energy carrier for replacing fossil fuels. Production of molecular H2 through electrochemical hydrogen evolution reactions is crucial for the development of clean-energy technologies. The development of economically viable and efficient H2 production/oxidation catalysts is a key step in the creation of H2-based renewable energy infrastructure. Intrinsic limitations of both natural enzymes and synthetic materials have led researchers to explore enzyme-induced catalysts to realize a high current density at a low overpotential. In recent times, highly active widespread numerous electrocatalysts, both homogeneous or heterogeneous (immobilized on the electrode), such as transition metal complexes, heteroatom- or metal-doped nanocarbons, metal-organic frameworks, and other metal derivatives (calix [4] resorcinols, pectates, etc.), which are, to one extent or another, structural or functional analogs of hydrogenases, have been extensively studied as alternatives for Pt-based catalysts, demonstrating prospects for the development of a “hydrogen economy”. This mini-review generalizes some achievements in the field of development of new electrocatalysts for H2 production/oxidation and their application for fuel cells, mainly focuses on the consideration of the catalytic activity of M[P2N2]2
2+ (M = Ni, Fe) complexes and other nickel structures which have been recently obtained.

Abstract
The results of studies on the application of elemental phosphorus for the synthesis of important organophosphorus compounds are surveyed and summarized. Currently, this trend represents a synthetically, environmentally and technologically attractive alternative to classical organophosphorus chemistry based on toxic and corrosive phosphorus chlorides. Direct phosphination and phosphinylation of organic compounds with elemental phosphorus (discussed in the first part of the review) basically extend the range of available phosphines, phosphine chalcogenides and phosphinic acids and provides further development of their synthetic potential (discussed in the second part of the review). It is shown that the breakthrough in this area is largely due to the discovery of reactions of elemental phosphorus (white and red) with various electrophiles in superbasic suspensions and emulsions derived from alkali metal hydroxides and to the development of electrochemical, electrocatalytic and catalytic activation of white phosphorus.
The bibliography includes 299 references.

Abstract
Abstract
A variety of gold(I) and copper(I) complexes based on heterocyclic phosphine platform has been obtained. Due to the presence of exocyclic chromophoric pyridyl groups in the ligands complexes demonstrate noticeable phosphorescence. Cyclic nature of the phosphine ligands is responsible for supramolecular host-behavior of the complexes. Unique structure of complexes on a scaffold of the cyclic PNNP ligands favors the stimuli-induced structural reorganizations followed by stimuli-responsive luminescence. This, in turn, makes the complexes versatile building blocks for bottom-up design of smart nanomaterials for analytical and biomedical applications.

Abstract
The first representatives of the tetranuclear gold(i) complexes of P,N-containing cyclophanes with two 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane rings incorporated into the macrocyclic core have been obtained. The complexation leads to a change in ligand conformations so that the diazadiphosphacyclooctane fragments of the complexes adopt twist-chair conformations, and two of the four gold(i) ions are located over and under the partially collapsed macrocyclic cavity. The complexes demonstrate moderate solid-state green emission.
