Abstract
This systematic review provides an overview of the history and current status of cryopreservation of fish sperm and a detailed evaluation of cryoprotocols using powdered milk. A literature search was performed in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO databases. Twenty-nine articles were selected after excluding duplicate articles or articles that did not meet the eligibility criteria. Rhamdia quelen and Danio rerio were the most studied species. Slow freezing method, dry-shipper, freezing rate of -35.6°C/min, thawing in water bath (35.93°C ± 10°C), and 0.25 and 0.5 mL plastic straws were the main approaches evaluated. Methanol was the most used permeable cryoprotectant in combination with powdered milk, yielding the best results at 10% concentration. Motility rate was the main analysis performed after cryopreservation in virtually all studies, being subjectively evaluated by most authors. Powdered milk at 15% promoted the best results in the analyzed studies. For motility rate, the gains with the addition of powdered milk were observed in the orders Perciformes (Oreochromis mossambicus), Siluriformes (Pangasius pangasius, Pseudoplatystoma corruscans, and Pseudoplatystoma mataense), and Cypriniformes (Tor soro and Barbonymus gonionotus). For fertilization, gains were observed in the order Siluriformes (P. mataense) and Cypriniformes (T. soro). Sperm viability gains were observed in the orders Siluriformes (P. pangasius), Characiformes (Piaractus brachypomus), and Cypriniformes (B. gonionotus). The scientific evidence we present in this study may contribute and serve as a starting point for new and more refined studies to be developed in the field.

Abstract
Abstract This study aimed to develop a protocol for the cryopreservation of Pseudoplatystoma corruscans semen. For this, mature males were hormonally induced with a single dose of carp pituitary extract (5 mg/kg body weight). Semen was collected and evaluated. Two cryoprotectants were tested to compose the diluents: dimethyl acetamide (DMA) and dimethyl sulfoxide (Me2SO), in two concentrations (8% and 10%), + 5.0% glucose + 10% egg yolk. The semen was diluted in a 1: 4 ratio (semen: extender), packed in 0.5 mL straws and frozen in a dry shipper container in liquid nitrogen vapors. After thawing, sperm kinetics, sperm morphology and DNA integrity of cryopreserved sperm were evaluated. Pseudoplatystoma corruscans males produced semen with sperm motility > 80%. After thawing, all treatments provided semen with total sperm motility > 40%, with no significant difference (P < 0.05) between them, as well as between the other sperm kinetic parameters evaluated. The treatments with DMA provided a smaller fragmentation of the DNA of the gametes. Sperm malformations were identified in both fresh and cryopreserved semen, with a slight increase in these malformations being identified in sperm from thawed P. corruscans semen samples.

Abstract
Bocachico Prochilodus magdalenae es una especie endémica y la más importante de la pesquería continental colombiana. No obstante, sus capturas han disminuido aproximadamente el 67% en los últimos cuarenta años, por tanto ha sido categorizada como vulnerable a la extinción. La criopreservación de semen, es una herramienta biotecnológica de conservación por tanto el objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar la criopreservación de semen de bocachico con etilenglicol (EG) y leche en polvo descremada (LP). La solución crioprotectora estuvo compuesta por EG (6, 8 o 10%), LP (3, 5 o 7%) y glucosa 6%. La calidad del semen descongelado se evaluó con un software tipo CASA (computer assisted semen analysis). El porcentaje de inclusión de EG, no afectó significativamente ninguno de los parámetros de calidad seminal evaluados (p>0,05), a excepción de la tasa de eclosión (p<0,05); mientras que, la LP afectó significativamente el porcentaje de espermatozoides estáticos (p<0,05) y las tasas de fertilización y eclosión (p<0,01). La mayor movilidad total se obtuvo cuando EG se incluyó a 10% y la LP a 7% (38,4±18,4%) (p<0,05); pero las mayores tasas de fertilización (54,3-64,2%) y eclosión (47,7-57,5%) se obtuvieron cuando EG se incluyó a 6 u 8% y la LP se incluyó a la menor concentración evaluada (3%), sin observarse diferencia significativa entre estos tratamientos (p>0,05). Los resultados permiten concluir que la combinación EG 6% con LP 3% permiten la criopreservación de semen de Prochilodus magdalenae de buena calidad y capacidad fecundante.

Abstract
Because ibuprofen is a high consumption drug, which has the waters as its final destination, causing alterations in the aquatic environment, specifically in fish. However, there is not enough knowledge about the effect it can have on neotropical fish. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of different concentrations of ibuprofen on sperm quality, both in vivo and in vitro, of the striped catfish Pseudoplatystoma magdaleniatum, and analyze its effects on the reproduction of this critical extinction endangered species. For this purpose, three groups of fish, with a mean weight of 2.3 ± 0.6 kg and mean total length of 62.9 ± 6.1 cm, were placed in tanks (3 fish/tank) with water at concentrations of 0 (control), 25, and 50 μg/L of ibuprofen for 4 months. For the analysis of sperm quality for each treatment (in vivo), the males were selected in the spermiation phase. Also, the semen from the control group was used for in vitro tests and activated with type I water solutions containing 0, 25, and 50 μg/L of ibuprofen. In the in vivo and in vitro tests, when fish and semen were treated to 50 μg/l, the seminal quality of striped catfish was statistically different from the other treatments. For this study, it was shown that ibuprofen at concentrations of 50 μg/L can cause a significant reduction in sperm quality and, therefore, a threat to the reproduction of P. magdaleniatum.

Abstract
The marbled flounder (Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae) is a commercial flatfish in East Asia. The aim of this study was to improve its sperm cryopreservation protocol based on the vitality assessment of 7-day and 1-year cryopreserved sperm. Four extenders (extender-1: sucrose solution; extender-2: glucose solution; extender-3: fish Ringer's solution; and extender-4: modified fish Ringer's solution) were tested with a combination of five cryoprotectants (CPAs) (dimethyl sulfoxide: Me2SO; glycerol: GLY; ethylene glycol: EG; propylene glycol: PG; and methanol: MeOH) at four different concentrations (5, 10, 12, and 15%). Fluorescent technique was applied to detect the plasma membrane integrity (PMI), mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), and DNA integrity of fresh and cryopreserved sperm specimens. Fresh sperm was diluted at a ratio of 1:2 (sperm:extender). Post-thaw motility of sperm cryopreserved using 15% Me2SO along with either extender-1 (86.0 ± 5.2%) or extender-2 (85.7 ± 7.1%) was similar (p > 0.05) to that of fresh sperm. Sperm cryopreserved using 12% GLY combined with extender-1 (83.67 ± 6.7%) or extender-2 (83.3 ± 4.7%) showed a similar motility to those cryopreserved with 15% Me2SO, but significantly lower from fresh sperm. The type of straw (0.25 or 0.50 mL) did not show any significant difference (p > 0.05) in post-thaw sperm motility. The highest values of PMI and MMP were observed for 7-day cryopreserved sperm using extender-1 in combination with 15% Me2SO (91.0 ± 2.9% and 90.0 ± 2.0%, respectively) or 12% GLY (90.0 ± 1.3% and 90.0 ± 4.6%, respectively). These results were similar to those of fresh sperm (95.3 ± 2.1% and 92.9 ± 2.5%, respectively). PMI and MMP of 1-year cryopreserved sperm using extender-1 in combination with 15% Me2SO (90.3 ± 2.5% and 89.3 ± 2.1%, respectively) or 12% GLY (90.0 ± 4.4% and 88.7 ± 2.2%, respectively) were significantly similar (p > 0.05) to those of fresh sperm. Sperm DNA integrity did not reveal any significant difference (p > 0.05) between fresh and cryopreserved (7-day and 1-year) sperm. Based on the assessed sperm vitality indicators, a cryopreservation protocol using extender-1 in combination with 15% Me2SO or 12% GLY has potential for hatchery as well as to create a germplasm bank.

Abstract
The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of exposure for four months, with ibuprofen and triclosan at 25 and 50 μg/L in Striped catfish Pseudoplatystoma magdaleniatum, evaluated between sexes and exposure times. Biochemical biomarkers such as lactate dehydrogenase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, gamma-glutamyltransferase, acetylcholinesterase, creatine kinase, lipid peroxidation, albumin, globulins, creatinine, and urea were evaluated. The results of this study suggest that both ibuprofen and triclosan at concentrations of 25 and 50 μg/L can cause alterations to P. magdaleniatum, interfering with the activity of certain enzymes associated with energy production, immune response, architecture, and cellular physiology. Also, we determined the current state of contamination in fish, the concentration of ibuprofen and triclosan in P. magdaleniatum muscle samples from the different places markets located on the banks of the main rivers of Colombia was quantified by UHPLC-QqQ-MS/MS, in three climatic periods; finding triclosan levels in the dry season in some of the sampling points compatible with enzyme-level alterations in this species.

Abstract
This is one of the first studies carried out over three climatic seasons on the determination of ibuprofen and diclofenac, in the main rivers of Colombia and striped catfish Pseudoplatystoma magdaleniatum. Determination of water concentrations was carried out using SPE extraction, while for the analysis of the muscular tissue, the extraction was carried out by QuEChERS. For both matrices, quantification was done by UHPLC-MS/MS. No levels of ibuprofen or diclofenac concentrations were found in the muscle tissue of Pseudoplatystoma magdaleniatum, in any season or sampling site, during the 2 years of sampling. In some sampling sites, concentrations of up to 75 µg/L of diclofenac were detected, corresponding to the sampling carried out in the dry season, being the highest reported so far in surface waters, possibly generated by large concentrations of population or agricultural activities. On the other hand, for ibuprofen, no concentrations above the limit of quantification (0.50 µg/L) were found in the waters of the Cauca and Magdalena rivers, for any season and sampling site.
