Abstract
Great progress has been made in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in recent years. Interventional therapy-containing multimodal therapy plays a predominant role in the treatment of HCC. There are mainly two intervention methods available: intervascular and non-vascular interventional therapy. Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and local ablation therapy are representative means of them, respectively. Interventional radiology in combination with targeted therapy further enriches the content of interventional therapy for HCC. In this article, we summarize the recent advances in interventional therapy of HCC in terms of therapeutic principles, indications, therapeutic effects, contraindications, and pros and cons of various therapeutic methods.
