Vivências e Representações sobre o Crack: Um Estudo com Mulheres Usuárias

A DROGA COMO DISPOSITIVO DE CONTROLE SOCIAL: UMA ANÁLISE DAS REPRESENTAÇÕES SOCIAIS DO ÁLCOOL, MACONHA E CRACK NA IMPRENSA BRASILEIRA

As drogas se consolidam como um dos arquétipos culturais predominantes no cotidiano das sociedades urbanas, sendo sua presença ubíqua em praticamente todas as culturas. Os registros históricos apresentam ampla variabilidade de substâncias que em dado momento eram classificadas como o perigo social da época e que em outro se tornavam banalizadas ou tipificadas como inofensivas. Assim, esse estudo teve como objetivo analisar como dispositivo droga que se consolida em diferentes períodos históricos. Para isso, foram coletadas 4.227 matérias dos jornais Folha da Manhã, Folha da Noite e Folha de São Paulo, que abordassem questões relativas ao álcool (década de 1920), maconha (décadas de 1930 a 1960) e crack (década de 1980 a 2005) e realizada Análise Temática de Conteúdo. Os resultados permitem afirmar que a característica central que define todas as substâncias analisadas nos distintos momentos históricos é o risco social que ela apresenta. A droga se constitui como um risco aos usuários ao mesmo tempo que os institui enquanto uma figura de ameaça social. Ao se referenciar uma substância como uma droga, são ativados sentidos que remetem a um quadro de decadência e criminalidade.

The Perceptions of Women About Their High Experience of Using Crack Cocaine

INTRODUCTION

The aim of this study was to explore the perceptions of women about their experience in using crack cocaine, discussing their motivations for using it and the repercussions in their lives.

OBJECTIVE

To investigate these experiences, a qualitative exploratory study was conducted, using the inductive thematic analyses of the content.

METHODS

Eight female crack cocaine users took part in this study. They were assessed by a semi-structured interview, addressing the crack cocaine use experience. Four main themes emerged in the interviews: (1) crack cocaine "high" experience; (2) symptoms related to crack cocaine use; (3) circumstances of crack cocaine use; and (4) crack cocaine use consequences.

RESULTS

The main perceptions reported by the users were related to a feeling of being disconnected to the world preceded by a pleasant experience, especially during the first moments of use. They revealed that the drug fulfills a key role of coping strategy to handle with negative thoughts, emotions or life experiences. An important influence of social issues was reported in relation to the onset of crack cocaine use. Negative consequences and significant impact on their lives appeared in their reports, regarding the loss of family ties, involvement with prostitution, traumatic experiences and violence.

CONCLUSION

Taking together all women's perceptions suggests that beyond the positive immediate rewarding effect, the maintenance of use might be related to the dissociative experience and self-medication role, acting as negative reward by relieving of negative life experiences that, in turn, are both cause and consequence of the drug use.

O acesso ao tratamento de usuárias de crack sob a perspectiva dos profissionais de saúde

RESUMO O consumo de crack é um problema de saúde pública no Brasil. Nesse grupo, as mulheres se encontram em situação de maior vulnerabilidade, em especial, por acessarem menos os serviços de saúde. Por esse motivo, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar os sentidos do acesso ao tratamento de mulheres usuárias de crack na perspectiva dos profissionais de saúde de um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial – Álcool e Outras Drogas (Caps AD). Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo, qualitativa, por meio da observação participante (54 visitas) e de 13 entrevistas semiestruturadas com profissionais, realizada durante oito meses de imersão em um Caps AD do Rio de Janeiro. Um software de gerenciamento de dados – o NVivo – foi utilizado para a análise temática. Trabalho aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa. Para os profissionais, as mulheres vão buscar ajuda porque possuem laços familiares rompidos, precisam de ajuda social devido ao seu contexto de vulnerabilidade e procuram um tratamento direcionado ao seu corpo em falência. Conclui-se como de fundamental importância que o Caps AD ofereça um trabalho desburocratizado e que amplie suas ações no território.

Discourse of psychoactive substance dependents on their discursively constructed image

OBJECTIVE

to analyze the discourse of psychoactive substance users undergoing treatment regarding their image of themselves as drug dependent subjects, of other dependents and the social position assumed by them.

METHOD

qualitative study conducted between March and September of 2016 through a semi-structured interview and drawings, based on the theoretical-methodological reference of French Discourse Analysis. Participation of 12 drug dependent subjects undergoing treatment in the service that substitutes the asylum.

RESULTS

The images that psychoactive substance dependents have of themselves and of chemically dependent subjects are associated with the image of a negative, diabolical, transgressive, sick and socially excluded individual.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

The ideological effects of meanings produced by users' discourses reproduce the biological and moral model. Health professionals, including nurses, need to invest in discourses that address the psychosocial model to demythologize this stigmatizing image and modify their work practice.
