[Creativity in nursing education--a triadic approach: teacher, student, curriculum]

This descriptive study investigated the extent to which creativity has been fostered in a public university undergraduate Nursing program in Brasilia, Brazil. Renzulli's theoretical model was used as a reference, which encompasses three elements--teacher, learner, curriculum. Data were gathered through the Teaching Practices Evaluation Questionnaire, completed by 15 professors and 65 Nursing students. Results indicated that while professors considered that they stimulate student's creativity; students disagreed on that point. Professors rated themselves as significantly more creative than their students, whilst students judged themselves and their colleagues as significantly more creative than their professors. Both samples emphasized their opinion by saying that curriculum in their program of study does not foster creativity.

Vivenciando uma proposta emancipatória no ensino de semiologia para a enfermagem

Objetivou-se analisar o ensino de Semiologia através dos programas das disciplinas das cinco universidades do Estado do Ceará, especificamente de uma universidade pública. Observaram-se três aulas e realizaram-se reuniões com docentes e discentes, a fim de levantar dados sobre o processo ensino-aprendizagem. As docentes apresentaram experiência no ensino e pesquisa, e reconheceram que o elevado número de alunos prejudica o ensino-aprendizagem. Os discentes referiram dificuldades na elaboração de diagnóstico de enfermagem e no contato inicial com cliente hospitalizado, ocasionando insegurança e rejeição à prática da disciplina.

In this article the author reports on the importance of Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem-REBEn (Brazilian Journal of Nursing) for her educational trajectory since the undergraduation course until the present days. She describes her personal, professional and educational development, as well as the development of her scientific curiosity, relating it to the knowledge acquired in the periodical REBEn.
