Unusually Located Stroke After Chemotherapy in Testicular Germ Cell Tumors

Testicular cancer is a type of malignancy that affects young adults and has high rates of cure; however, as any malignancy, it is associated with an increased risk of ischemic or hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease, given the systemic tumor effects or side effects of chemotherapy, which in turn increases morbidity, functional impairment, and additional risk of early death.

Breast Necrosis after Chemotherapy for Recurrent Ovarian Cancer: Report of a Case and Review of the Literature

Breast necrosis is a rare event due to abundant blood supply of the breast. We present an unusual case of partial breast necrosis after chemotherapy for recurrent ovarian cancer. Necrotic tissue sloughed with conservative management and the wound was repaired surgically. We believe that this is the first case report of breast necrosis as a systemic complication of chemotherapy.

Systemic thromboembolism after anti-cancer chemotherapy in a woman with ovarian germ cell tumor

A high cure rate of ovarian germ cell tumors was achieved by establishment of a cisplatin-containing regimen. We encountered a rare case of a 33-year-old, nulligravida Japanese woman with systemic thromboembolism following anti-cancer chemotherapy with cisplatin, etoposide, and bleomycin in ovarian germ cell tumor. She suffered from brain infarction, multiple embolisms in the bilateral pulmonary artery and pelvic vein, and a broad range of deep vein thromboses in the right extremities vein. When thrombosis is detected during anti-cancer chemotherapy, we must investigate whether the presence of thrombosis is systemic or local.
