Abstract
Human Runt-associated transcription factor 3 (RUNX3) plays an important role in the development and progression of endometrial cancer (EC). However, the clinical and pathological significance of RUNX3 in EC needs to be further studied. In order to clarify the clinical and pathological significance of RUNX3, a systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted in EC patients. Keywords RUNX3, endometrial cancer, and uterine cancer were searched in Cochrane Library, Web of Knowledge, PubMed, CBM, MEDLINE, and Chinese CNKI database for data up to Dec 31, 2018. References, abstracts, and meeting proceedings were manually searched in supplementary. Outcomes were various clinical and pathological features. The two reviewers performed the literature searching, data extracting, and method assessing independently. Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan5.3.0. A total of 563 EC patients were enrolled from eight studies. Meta-analysis results showed that the expression of RUNX3 has significant differences in these comparisons: lymph node (LN) metastasis vs. non-LN metastasis (P = 0.26), EC tissues vs. normal tissues (P < 0.00001), clinical stages I/II vs. II/IV (P < 0.00001), muscular infiltration < 1/2 vs. muscular infiltration ≥ 1/2 (P < 0.00001), and G1 vs. G2/G3 (P < 0.00001). The decreasing expression of RUNX3 is associated with poor TNM stage and muscular infiltration. It is indicated that RUNX3 was involved in the suppression effect of EC. However, further multicenter randomized controlled trials are needed considering the small sample size of the included trials.

Abstract
MicroRNAs (miR) are a group of non-coding, small RNAs, 18-20 nucleotides in length, that are frequently involved in the development of a variety of different types of cancer, including glioma, which is a type of severe tumor in the brain. Previous studies reported that miR-124 levels were downregulated in glioma specimens; however, the potential role of miR-124 in glioma currently remains unclear. The present study performed experiments, including dual-luciferase reporter assay (DLRA), MTT assay, transwell assay and flow cytometry, with the aim of elucidating the molecular mechanism of miR-124 in glioma. The results indicated that miR-124 expression was decreased in glioma tissues, accompanied by the increased expression of extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer (EMMPRIN). The expression of EMMPRIN was inhibited by miR-124 transfection. The DLRA results revealed that EMMPRIN directly targets miR-124. Furthermore, upon overexpression of miR-124 in the U87 cells, cell proliferation was significantly inhibited, apoptosis was increased, and cell migration and invasion were decreased. Furthermore, tumor growth was blocked by miR-124 in mice. Based on these results, the present study concluded that miR-124 is critical for amelioration of glioma by targeting EMMPRIN, thereby acting as a tumor suppressor. Thus, miR-124/EMMPRIN constitutes a plausible basis for the treatment of glioma.

Abstract
Objectives: To evaluate the relationship of D-dimer, CD147 and miR-203, and detect the influence of these biomarkers on the pathological characteristics in patients with gastric cancer. Methods: The patients with gastric cancer treated using radical gastrectomy between May 2013 and October 2017 were reviewed retrospectively. The expression of D-dimer, miR203 and CD147 was measured for all the patients, and the clinical data including age, gender, tumor size, tumor differentiation, invasion depth, lymphatic metastasis, TMN stage, and pathological type were retrieved and analyzed. The study was carried out in affiliated Yidu Central Hospital of Weifang Medical College, Qingzhou, China. Results: Two hundred sixty patients with gastric cancer were included. The patients with tumor metastasis, larger tumor diameter, lower differentiation, lymphatic metastasis, deeper invasion, and higher TMN stage presented with a significantly higher D-dimer and CD 147 expression, but the level of the two biomarkers didn’t show a significant difference in patients with different pathological type, gender and age. Compared with CD147 and D-dimer, miR203 presented with different characteristics of expression. In addition, the expression of miR203 was negatively correlated with CD147 and D-dimer, and there was a positive correlation between CD147 and D-dimer in patients with gastric cancer. Conclusion: In this study, a close correlation of D-dimer, miR203 and CD147 was found, and these three biomarkers should be screened in gastric cancer patients.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer(CRC) is a prevalent malignancy in the world. There is growing evidence that microRNAs (miRNAs) as crucial modulator are in connection with many tumor-related diseases including CRC. Though miR-485-5p has been reported as an anti-oncogene in certain cancers, it remains unclear in CRC. In this research, we found that miR-485-5p was at lower level expression in CRC tissues and cell lines compared to the paired paracancerous tissues and the normal colon epithelial cell line FHC, correspondingly. Furthermore, Experimental up-regulation miR-485-5p in DLD-1 and SW480 cells with mimic could inhibit the ability of proliferation, migration, invasion of CRC cell lines and facilitate cells apoptosis. Also, we confirmed that CD147 existed typically negative regulation by miR-485-5p through binding a conserved sequence specifically within the CD147 3'-untranslated region (3'UTR) and reintroduction of CD147 could rescue the phenotypic changes caused by miR-485-5p. The findings provide evidence to demonstrate the role of miR-485-5p/CD147 interaction in CRC and indicate that miR-485-5p might be exploited therapeutically in CRC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) has been reported to influence individual susceptibility to chronic pancreatitis (CP), but the results of previous studies are controversial. AIMS We performed a study to demonstrate the relationship between CFTR and CP. METHODS We searched PubMed, Scopus, and Embase for studies of patients with CP. Seven studies from 1995 to 2016 were identified, and included 64,832 patients. Pooled prevalence and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated. RESULTS F508 deletion in CFTR was significantly positively associated with CP risk in the overall analysis (odds ratio [OR]=3.20, 95% CI: 2.30-4.44, I2=31.7%). In subgroup analysis stratified by ethnicity, F508 deletion was significantly associated with CP risk in Indian populations, using a fixed effects model (ORs=5.45, 95% CI: 2.52-11.79, I2=0.0%), and in non-Indian populations, using a random effects model (ORs=3.59, 95% CI: 1.73-7.48, I2=60.9%). At the same time, we found that Indians with F508 deletion had much higher CP prevalence than non-Indians. Interestingly, F508 deletion was also associated with CP and idiopathic CP risk in subgroup analysis stratified by aeitiology, using the fixed effects model. CONCLUSIONS Based on current evidence, F508 deletion is a risk factor for CP, and Indians with F508 deletion have much higher CP morbidity.

Abstract
CD147 (also named as Basigin or EMMPRIN) might promote cancer invasion and metastasis by inducing MMP and VEGF synthesis in tumor microenvironment. We performed a systematic meta and bioinformatics analysis through multiple online databases up to March 14, 2017. Up-regulated CD147 expression was found in gastric cancer, compared with normal mucosa (p < 0.05). The male patients with gastric cancer showed higher CD147 expression than the female ones (p < 0.0001). CD147 expression was positively correlated with tumor size, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, TNM staging and unfavorable prognosis of gastric cancer (p < 0.05). At mRNA level, CD147 expression was higher in intestinal-type and mixed-type gastric carcinomas than normal tissues (p < 0.05). CD147 mRNA expression was negatively associated with histological grading and dedifferentiation of gastric cancer (p < 0.05). A higher CD147 mRNA expression was negatively correlated with overall and progression-free survival rates of all cancer patients, even stratified by clinicopathological features (p < 0.05). These findings indicated that CD147 expression might be employed as a potential marker to indicate gastric carcinogenesis and subsequent progression, even prognosis.
