Abstract
Minimally invasive surgery has rapidly evolved from the once novel laparoscopic approach to advanced robotic surgery. In the past few decades alone, robotic systems have gone from systems which were significantly limited to full-fledged platforms featuring 3D vision, articulated instruments, integrated ultrasound and fluorescence capabilities, and even the latest wireless connectivity, as is now standard. In this review, we aimed to summarize features of currently commercialized and utilized robotic surgical systems as well as currently unfolding platforms. The pros and cons of different robotic surgical systems were discussed. In addition, we discussed the future perspectives of robotic platforms used in general surgery. In this regard, we emphasized that the market, once dominated by Intuitive Surgical Inc., has become occupied by several worthy competitors with new technological giants such as Google. Eventually, the question facing hospital systems will not be of whether or not to invest in robotic surgery, but instead of how they will strike balance between price, features, and availability when choosing robots from the growing market to best equip their surgeons.

Abstract
Minimally invasive liver surgery is safe and can be performed with results practically equal to those in open surgery. There are different techniques of parenchyma dissection and hemostasis available for the safe performance of minor and major resections, both laparoscopically and robotics based. Due to its technical options robotics-based surgery is a further development of laparoscopy. Expertise in minimally invasive and in liver surgery are essential prerequisites.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Robotic surgery was introduced into general surgery more than 20 years ago. Shortly afterwards, Horgan performed the first robotic-assisted esophagectomy in 2003 in Chicago. The aim of this manuscript is to elucidate new developments and training methods in robotic surgery with a cost-benefit analysis for robotic-assisted Ivor Lewis esophagectomy. METHODS Systematic literature search regarding new technology and training methods for robotic surgery and cost analysis of intraoperative materials for hybrid and robotic-assisted Ivor Lewis esophagectomy. RESULTS Robotic-assisted esophageal surgery is complex and involves an extensive learning curve, which can be shortened with modern teaching methods. New robotic systems aim at the use of image-guided surgery and artificial intelligence. Robotic-assisted surgery of esophageal cancer is significantly more expensive that surgery without this technology. CONCLUSION Oncological short-term and long-term benefits need to be further evaluated to support the higher cost of robotic esophageal cancer surgery.
