Abstract
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancer types worldwide. Since colorectal cancer takes time to develop, its incidence and mortality can be treated effectively if it is detected in its early stages. As a result, non-invasive or invasive biomarkers play an essential role in the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Many experimental studies have been carried out to assess genetic, epigenetic, or protein markers in feces, serum, and tissue. It may be possible to find biomarkers that will help with the diagnosis of colorectal cancer by identifying the genes, RNAs, and/or proteins indicative of cancer growth. Recent advancements in the molecular subtypes of colorectal cancer, DNA methylation, microRNAs, long noncoding RNAs, exosomes, and their involvement in colorectal cancer have led to the discovery of novel biomarkers. In small-scale investigations, most biomarkers appear promising. However, large-scale clinical trials are required to validate their effectiveness before routine clinical implementation. Hence, this review focuses on small-scale investigations and results of big data analysis that may provide an overview of the biomarkers for the diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis of colorectal cancer.

Abstract
Cervical cancer (CC) is a frequent disease in women whose development is related with miRNA disorder. MiR-377-5p plays a negative role in the development of some tumors, while few studies have revealed its role in CC. In this study, the functions of miR-377-5p in CC were investigated by bioinformatics. Briefly, the expression and survival curve of miR-377-5p in CC was analyzed with the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, and the abundance of miR-377-5p in clinical samples and CC cell lines were measured by qRT-PCR. Moreover, the MicroRNA Data Integration Portal (miRDIP) database was used to predict targets of miR-377-5p, and the Database for Annotation Visualization and Integrated Discovery (David) was used for enrichment analysis of the functions of the miR-377-5p. The Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes (STRING) database was used to screen the hub targets of miR-377-5p. Moreover, the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) database was used to analyze the abundance of the genes in CC. Results showed that decreased miR-377-5p was found in the CC tissues and cell lines, and low miR-377-5p was connected with poor prognosis of patients. Besides, the targets of miR-377-5p were enriched in the PI3K/AKT, MAPK and RAS signaling pathways. Moreover, CDC42, FLT1, TPM3 and CAV1 were screened as hub nodes in the targets of miR-377-5p, and increased CDC42, FLT1, TPM3 and CAV1 also indicated the poor survival rates of the patients in the long term. In conclusion, this study suggests that miR-377-5p downregulation is a biomarker event for CC progression.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common malignancy in the world and one of the leading causes of cancer death; its incidence is still increasing in most countries. The early diagnostic accuracy of CRC is low, and the metastasis rate is high, resulting in a low survival rate of advanced patients. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a small class of noncoding RNAs that can inhibit mRNA translation and trigger mRNA degradation, and can affect a variety of cellular and molecular targets. Numerous studies have shown that miRNAs are related to tumour progression, immune system activity, anticancer drug resistance, and the tumour microenvironment. Dysregulation of miRNAs occurs in a variety of malignancies, including CRC. In this review, we summarize the recent research progress of miRNAs, their roles in tumour progression and metastasis, and their clinical value as potential biomarkers or therapeutic targets for CRC. Furthermore, we combined the roles of miRNAs in tumorigenesis and development with the therapeutic strategies of CRC patients, which will provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of CRC.

Abstract
Purpose Following major trauma, genes involved in adaptive immunity are downregulated, which accompanies the upregulation of genes involved in systemic inflammatory responses. This study investigated microRNA (miRNA)-mRNA interactome dysregulation in circulating T cells of patients with major trauma. Patients and Methods This study included adult trauma patients who had an injury severity score ≥16 and required ventilator support for more than 48 h in the intensive care unit. Next-generation sequencing was used to profile the miRNAs and mRNAs expressed in CD3+ T cells isolated from patient blood samples collected during the injury and recovery stages. Results In the 26 studied patients, 9 miRNAs (hsa-miR-16-2-3p, hsa-miR-16-5p, hsa-miR-185-5p, hsa-miR-192-5p, hsa-miR-197-3p, hsa-miR-23a-3p, hsa-miR-26b-5p, hsa-miR-223-3p, and hsa-miR-485-5p) were significantly upregulated, while 58 mRNAs were significantly downregulated in T cells following major trauma. A network consisting of 8 miRNAs and 22 mRNAs interactions was revealed by miRWalk, with three miRNAs (hsa-miR-185-5p, hsa-miR-197-3p, and hsa-miR-485-5p) acting as hub genes that regulate the network. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis suggested that “chemokine signaling pathway” was the predominant pathway. Conclusion The study revealed a miRNA-mRNA interactome consisting of 8 miRNAs and 22 mRNAs that are predominantly involved in chemokine signaling in circulating T cells of patients following major trauma.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third prevalent cancer worldwide, the morbidity and mortality of which have been increasing in recent years. As molecular targeting agents, anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) monoclonal antibodies (McAbs) have significantly increased the progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) of metastatic CRC (mCRC) patients. Nevertheless, most patients are eventually resistant to anti-EGFR McAbs. With the intensive study of the mechanism of anti-EGFR drug resistance, a variety of biomarkers and pathways have been found to participate in CRC resistance to anti-EGFR therapy. More and more studies have implicated non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) primarily including microRNAs (miRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs), are widely involved in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. They function as essential regulators controlling the expression and function of oncogenes. Increasing data have shown ncRNAs affect the resistance of molecular targeted drugs in CRC including anti-EGFR McAbs. In this paper, we have reviewed the advance in mechanisms of ncRNAs in regulating anti-EGFR McAbs therapy resistance in CRC. It provides insight into exploring ncRNAs as new molecular targets and prognostic markers for CRC.
