Abstract
Alkynyl selenides have attracted considerable research interest recently, owing to their applications in the biological and pharmaceutical fields. The Cu-catalyzed tandem reaction for the synthesis of novel alkynyl imidazopyridinyl selenides is presented. A one-pot synthesis route afforded alkynyl imidazopyridinyl selenides in moderate to good yields. This was achieved by a two-step reaction between terminal alkynes and diimidazopyridinyl diselenides, generated from imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines and Se powder, using 10 mol % of CuI and 1,10-phenanthroline as the catalytic system under aerobic conditions. The C(sp2)–Se and C(sp)–Se bond-formation reaction can be performed in one-pot by using inexpensive and easy to handle Se powder as the Se source. The reaction proceeded with terminal alkynes having various substitutions, such as aryl, vinyl, and alkyl groups. The obtained alkynyl imidazopyridinyl selenide was found to undergo nucleophilic substitution reaction on Se atom using organolithium reagents and 1,3-dipolar azide–alkyne cycloaddition based on the alkyne moiety.

Abstract
Selenium-substituted heteroarenes are biologically active compounds and useful building blocks. In this study, we have developed a metal- and oxidant-free, environmentally friendly protocol for the regioselective selenylation of 2H-indazole derivatives by an electrochemical strategy. A number of selenylated 2H-indazoles with a wide range of functional groups have been synthesized in moderate to good yields under mild and environment-friendly reaction conditions.

Abstract
Organoselenium compounds find versatile applications in organic synthesis, materials synthesis, and ligand chemistry. Organoselenium heterocycles are widely studied agents with diverse applications in various biological processes. This review highlights the recent progress in the synthesis of selenium heterocycles using diorganyl diselenides with keen attention on green synthetic approaches, scopes, C-H selanylation, the mechanisms of different reactions and insights into the formation of metal complexes. The C-H selanylation using diorganyl diselenides with different catalysts, bases, transition metals, iodine salts, NIS, hypervalent iodine, and other reagents is summarised. Finally, the diverse binding modes of bis(2/4-pyridyl)diselenide with different metal complexes are also summarised.

Abstract
We have explored the reactions of tetrahydro-4H-selenochromenes in the presence
of phosphoric pentachloride, and synthesized new condensate aroylbenzoselenophenes.
During the reactions, tetrahydro-4H-selenochromenes with phosphoric pentachloride underwent
oxidative aromatization and nucleophilic substitution for a chlorine atom of one of
the protons in the alicyclic fragment. Also, the narrowing of the heterocyclic fragment occurred
as in synthesized selenium-containing compounds earlier transformed into the corresponding
condensate aroylbenzoselenophenes.

Abstract
In this paper, we report the novel synthesis of three different heterocycles, namely 2-arylselenopheno[2,3-b]quinoxaline, 3-(aryl/alkylselanyl)-2-arylselenopheno[2,3-b]quinoxaline and 6-phenyl-7-(arylselanyl)selenopheno[2,3-b]pyrazine derivatives, from the corresponding 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline and 2,3-dichloropyrazine derivatives. Furthermore, photophysical properties were investigated to study the effect of heteroatoms on UV-absorbance and fluorescence properties.

Abstract
An efficient, metal free and environment friendly synthesis of isoquinoline-fused benzimidazole has been developed via in situ air oxidation. Also, syntheses of isoquinoline-fused quinazolinone heteroacenes were successfully achieved. The synthesized isoquinoline-fused benzimidazole and isoquinoline-fused quinazolinone derivatives showed λmax, Fmax and Φf values in the ranges 356-394 nm, 403-444 nm and 0.063-0.471, respectively, in CHCl3.
